« A staff member could not locate my booking. »

On arrival a staff member was unable to locate my booking, even though I had produced my booking reference number. After about 5 minutes or my booking was located. Check out was smooth.

« Room was not cleaned properly »

Front desk staff were great but the room was very poorly cleaned. This was pretty repulsive but we were too tired to complain on the night. Sheets were visibly dirty, toilet smelled of urine, there were pubic hairs on the shower screen.

« Major screw up »

Booking cancelled with no notification. Reception extremely argumentative and snarky. $35 for parking for 1 night we did not find out about until we checked in. Bed was uncomfortable. Air condition in room not working. Would have been nice to be notified about construction work and how to get into building. As well as having a husband with ptsd after a work injury involving a power saw which we woke up to at 7 in the morning. Booking site said payment on checkout, we were charged 3hrs before checking in. When called reception it took 2 hours for them to call back.

Pros: courteous and helpful check in staff Shower was better than what is shown in the photo Cons: none I can think of Stay: drove into Sydney late night for early morning flights for the next day. (This is to avoid the ridiculous traffic to the airport). Needed a place for 6 hours Max. The check in staff were happy for two additional people to eat dinner with us in my room for a couple of hours without charging us extra. As for the car parking usual rate is $35 but the check in guy give it for $20 as I needed it for 5 hours Max like the room. Highly recommended for short stay while traveling from A to B.

« Disappointed with the room! »

We were asked if we would like to upgrade our room for $15.... to a newer room that was supposed to be more roomy....which we did...the fridge made a terrible noise most of the night as did the conditioning in the room & it was not very cold at all...we were very disappointed & on check out the young lady refunded our $15.....also there were do many people having breakfast in the morning there was no room to move in the room....

Clean bed and ensuite with no frills. I would have liked to know in advance that toiletries apart from soap had to be purchased from a machine downstairs, but maybe that was in the fine print. I thought of a few things they could dispense with such as the cushions in order to provide shampoo, but I guess we pay for the location and that's that. In the end, the stay cost almost $180 for about 10 hours plus parking in this clean but very basic hotel.

The beds were comfortable with clean sheets. Under the beds had not been swept. Shower pressure was very weak but towels were fresh. Exposed wires between the children's beds (under the window) and their personal bed lights were not working. Clip on the blind was broken and unable to stay closed. The first room we were given, no lights were working. Power points were ok but no lights.

« Good this time, but often hit and miss overall »

Wotif booking good. check in very good. Room satisfactory. Fridge was unplugged upon arrival; thus not cold. I was close to the lift; people talking near the lift disturbed my sleep on multiple occasions.

« Disappointing -- I expected the same delightful experience I had at your original Sydney location (which I thought I was booking again) in 2006. »

Disappointing, as above. Having said that, your staff made every effort to make things better for both our stays: Jan 29th and Feb. 13-14. Both rooms are best described as a bit shabby and poorly designed. The bathrooms could use input from Norwegian cruise ships -- our stateroom (least expensive interior) was about the same size, but an extra few centimetres are given to the bathroom, and that makes all the difference. The fully enclosed shower occupies one end; the sink and toilet share the remaining sidewall. At Ibis, once someone has showered, the entire floor is soaked for hours -- the bath mat's main job is keeping the water from running out the door. Subsequent visits to use the toilet or brush one's teeth require bare feet before entering and increase the risk of slips and falls. The curtained and glass walled designs are equally guilty. Also, the shower control is easily bumped by an elbow or back, resulting in sudden temperature changes or shutoffs. Too, unless one stands well back in the shower, the sink's tap will soak you, no matter how carefully one opens the valve. So, overall, pleasant, hard-working staff who must deal with disappointed guests. Talk to your design team -- better still, replace them!

While it was supposed to be budget accomodation the high price was not justified. The “clean sheets” had spots of black mould on them with additional “rust marks”. Room was very quiet even though located very close to airport and cold walk to the terminals

« Not the best stay I have had. »

The room key didn't work. We were let in by a house maid. The room was very hot and we weren't able to adjust the aircon. I went to reception to get a new key and told them of the aircon. Being a Sunday there was no one from maintenance and we had to move to another room. I left stick/it notes on each of the items I noticed needing attention. i.e. Fridge not cold enough even on highest setting. The room was dusty. The toilet seat was not attached to the pedestal. The toilet roll holder was almost falling off the wall. The bathroom mirror had screws missing and was wobbly and the little ledge beneath was unusable as it was on a tilt. The room was noisy from people banging doors and talking in the halls. The kettle didn't work and it took some time for reception to locate a new one.

« It was generally hassle free. »

It was convenient and the staff were friendly and helpful.I was disappointed that I had to pay to park my car at the hotel next door because of your renovations.This was unacceptable in my opinion as it was not mentioned on your website.As i have to make a few more trips in the upcoming months I will look to book elsewhere as $35 extra may have got me a deal at a better hotel where parking did not have additional fees.

Everything was great except the breakfast option. I’m sure that’ll improve after renovations are complete though. Was far too basic for my liking, in fact , we went to Mac Donald’s instead , which is something I’d never normally do.
