« Why tell us there's AC in the room when it's not? »

I booked the room counting on the AC as it says in the description. After the check-in, we noticed the room really warm and not pleasant even with the AC on. A couple of hours later, we called to the reception and found out the AC only works during summer time and, because is spring, the couldn't turn it on. We had a awful night trying to sleep with the heat. Because our room was facing the street we couldn't leave the window open. Next morning, we requested a room change to a higher floor, or a room facing the other side, so we could leave the window open. They said it was possible and we could do after we come back from the tour. When we arrived, the new staff member was really rude saying "there's nothing I can do" as there wasn't rooms available that would solve our problem. We had to request the manager who fixed the problem in 2 minutes. My point is: - If you don't have a facility available, don't show it on your website description. You're misleading the guest and basically cheating. - In my opinion, the worst thing you could say to a guest is "There's nothing I can do". You always can do something even to say sorry and show respect.

The room was comfortable and clean and the standard as we have come to expect. However we were woken on three nights in the early hours by the noise of young people who were staying in the hotel. While this is largely the fault of the supervisors we will hesitate before booking the hotel again. On our first morning we couldn’t actually get to the breakfast area and so went out. There is a definite need for a second coffee machine and one not tucked into a corner. In fact the whole breakfast needs rethinking to my mind. The whole experience wasn’t up to the standard we have come to expect.

« It was not good »

The hotel employees were friendly, however the convertable bed could not be closed for the full 4 days and I ended up without a desk to work on. I was in a business trip with multiple conference calls and I had to do the calls on the bed or go downstairs to the lobby to sit on a table. This was not a good experience.

« A decent place to sleep - no frills »

The rooms are very basic and not comfortable or conducive for spending time in the room, other than for sleeping. I feel that the hotel spent too much money on the furniture downstairs in the communal areas and could’ve use that money to make the rooms a bit more comfortable. I came to work and to tour the city, not to sit in a hammock or play foosball in the lobby.

Your recent refurbishment is ridiculous. There is little comfortable seating now and instead of a lounge area you have hammocks, table football and a table tennis table whereas what guests want are small groups of comfortable chairs like you used to have. You've built an amphitheatre-like seating area that overlooks the lifts so anyone emerging from the lift steps out to an audience. The bar makeover too - why those ridiculous laboratory beakers as glasses, customers want normal beer glasses, this is a low-end hotel bar, not a trendy night-club. You've got rid of the reception desk and reception service is provided by someone perched on a stool, who may also be serving at the bar - who thought this was a good idea! Also, there were 4 or 5 staff hanging around behind the bar, but I still had to wait to be served - they seemed to all be busy dealing with one customer at once. The new menu at least provides some more variety than before, but why the crazy presentation on simulated records - can't you just have a normal menu card. Overall it's like your makeover has been designed by a teenager as part of a school art project.

The ground floor reception, eating area and relax area all looked very new and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was sufficient. The rooms were very simple but also fit for purpose, I would have liked to see a safe in the room to store travel documents as to not have to carry them around with you when exploring the city as everywhere we went, they warned of pick pockets and not to travel with important documents, like passports.

The hotel has a recently renovated lobby that is very pleasing and it keeps the usual good service of ibis. No changes in the rooms, which mean they keep the usual decorations and comfort. Breakfast seemed a bit pricey for the selection but prices in Barcelona have gone up. The zone around the hotel has seen a huge amount of renovation and new architecture that makes it interesting.

I work in an Ibis hotel in Paris, and I decided to come visit you and I was positively impressed by your quality of service during all the day. I just forgot to give you an important information for the future guest you will welcome on the room 418. 2 of the 3 curtains are not well fixed; I fixed it by myself when i checked in on Thursday evening, but it was not disturbing for us.

I don't talk about location and hotel quality as it is IBIS, hence cmparable to all the other IBIS. What I really fount extremely unique is the availability and kindness of the crew, always smiling, professional and willing to accomodate any request. I also had an accident in BCN, my mobile was stoles and one of the crew (Albert) gave me a lot of support and recommendation to solve my problem. Congratulations.
