Overall the staff were kind. Room was clean but the room slipper was not clean; most likely it was just repacked after the previous guest used.

I stayed in Grand Mercure for over 10 days, but recently not quite satisfied. In thess 3 months, when I check in, the cups are cover by come dust. During my stay, the house keep seems never vacuum the floor, cuase there are hairs on the floor. Even I mentioend to front desk and ask for improvement, there is nothing change. I feel a little bit disappointed.

« Used to be good but not this time »

I never had complaints on this hotel but this time it is different. The pillow cases had a certain smell (like hair cream) that I had to request for it to be changed. Even after the change, there was still a slight smell and I guess it is in the pillow and not the pillow cases.

Everything was rather good and normal as should be expected from any such hotel. Understanding the English of most Thai even in such public dealing places is a challenge but things went OK till the check out. During the check out I was asked if I had consumed anything from the minibar and I told them that I had used a pack of cashew and one of Pringles chips. They got the information on phone if everything in the room I vacated was fine or not. They started asking me for some "lonely ba". After being embarrassed at not understanding the question despite 5 repetitions I just said a 'No'. Then a senior person across the counter asked if I had taken the "lonely Bag" and I realized they were talking about the laundry bag, which I had picked. I was told that I must pay 100 Bhat if I had. To stem the entire confusion over my misunderstanding and denying that I had taken the bag I just paid the 100 Baht. However that left a very bad taste in the mouth. Especially because I stayed for 6 nights - I left around 40 Bhat in the room as a tip for the cleaners, never used the gowns, the slippers, the toiletries as I carry my own of all that stuff with me - and kept the place nice and tidy as is my habit, using the bed linen change service only twice instead of the practiced daily change. I did take the laundry bag to carry my dirties but was made to feel like a thief publicly instead of the ideal customer/guest I thought I had been. In any such situation most Thai "officials' - Government or otherwise - especially in Bangkok - become so offensive in their enunciation and body language. They almost take their frustration over not being understood in English out on the clients/customers. Its as if the respectful folded hand gesture during the Swasdee Khap entitles them to then equally insult the other person. I say this because I've had a number of instances (not at Mercure except the one when the 'senior' person addressd me about the 'lonely bag') where if you ever ask them to repeat themselves they invariably talk back to you in a style as if they are addressing a moron who needs to be shouted at.

Nice Rooms, with okay-ish cleaned bathrooms and superb breakfast buffet. Pool and gym nice. Gardens at the Pool & Gym level (12th Floor) nice. Downpoint: rooftop bar closed and had been closed for longer. We were actually looking forward to that.

Central location with phra ram 9 mrt at a stone's throw away. Lots of places to eat within a short distance's walk. Clean hotel with staff always ready at your services. However, the glass of the rooms are not double layer, making it difficult to sleep at night with the sounds of the vehicles passing by and hence the 9/10 rating.

The rooms are in need of renovation with minor chips on tiles and walls. I was surprised by the worn state of the towels and the tear in the sheet on my bed. Overall the room as OK but below the standard I was expecting.

My recent stay at Grand Mercure Fortune Bangkok was convenient due to the hotel's location to the MRT. And the service at the executive club lounge and check-in was attentive and efficient, particular from staff - Porntip, Oily and Tou. I had an enjoyable stay and intend to return on my next visit. My family and I were satisfied with the food and the cleanliness of the hotel. It is also very accessible to all means of transportation. Our only regret was that we were not able to utilize the swimming pool and the gym during our stay because of some events.

Wonderful hotel easy access to the MRT train and the shopping mall . Staff were lovely very nice room , lovely breakfast. Nice pool area . Highly recommend this hotel , easy to get around Bangkok just hop onto the MRT
