We picked the Mercure for an overnight stay on our way back home. Initially they were helpful in storing our luggage while we waited for our room to be ready and we went to the airport to see off other family members. When we returned we were told that we had only booked one room, which on my booking detailsI had definitely booked 2 rooms. We got 2 rooms but these were far apart. When I went to buy a drink from the bar, I was told to pay cash as we had declined to leave a credit card with reception when we arrived, which was absolutely not true. We were never asked about this when we checked in. I gave the bar worker $20 for chips and a coke- she never came back to me with change or to show that the full cost was $20. Our room was OK- probably less than I would expect for 3 star. The sliding door on the bathroom was completely off the slider so we could not close the door. Some of the staff were really professional and helpful especially the man on the desk who helped us in finding a medical clinic open on a Saturday.Others really did not do the establishment or their country proud. As a paying member to the ACCOR group I was disappointed. Would not stay here again.

As our shuttle bus arrived before our rooms were ready (10-20 mins before 2pm), I spoke to the porter about storing my luggage so l could go to Nadi town centre. He immediately sprang into action and then explained the types of taxi services (cost) and put me in a waiting taxi after explaining to the driver where l wanted to go. I wish l could remember his name. The same staff member met me on my return & anticipated my needs, and escorted me & my bags to my room & offered a wake up call and the free shuttle service times for my departure the next morning. Later that night he saw me a bit lost looking for my room and helped out. He was more helpful by anticipating and offering Mecure services, than the young front desk lady. She was nice, but l had to ask the questions. The room was spacious, beautiful linen, fluffy white soft towels, and clean. The hairdryer was great, and the aircon was good without being freezing.

Bathroom not very clean. Found poo next to toilet and sliding door - still makes me ill thinking about it. Bathroom in poor condition. The shower fixture was only just staying on the wall and the bath/shower screen and been badly repaired. The air conditioner was old and noisy and could not run at night. Overall cleanliness poor.

The staff at Mercure Nadi are amazing, they take care of guests and always make extra effort to satisfy them. Although I thought there were a few issues that are out of the frontline employees control such as having no shower door, this means water sprinkles out of the shower and most of the bathroom and bathmat gets soaked and the towels are collected in the morning and fresh towels are delivered at 5pm, this is so inconvenient because the guest are left waiting the whole day for fresh towels therefore when old towels are taken, fresh towels should be delivered at the same time and guest shouldn’t have to wait significantly long periods of time to have a shower

Reception was slow and unsure at first and referred me to email my questions. Security did not pick up on a man asking for money in the car park right next to security box. The facilities in the room are clean but tired and needing renovation. Towels per person had to be asked for and was delivered promptly. We did not eat at the hotel as the cost did not meet quality.

My only negative comment was watching the pool guy clean the pool with a aluminium extension pole and whilst having one end in the water the other was hitting the 240V coloured lights above the pool. Yes the lights were on and while there was no one in the pool I would not like to rely on earth leakage if its installed. I raised this with staff but was not sure they understood the ramifications.
