« Front Desk Never Has Change »

I have stayed in this hotel several times before and always enjoyed the experience. However, there is a chronic problem with the front desk. They never have any change. The local ATM machines dispense a lot of 100 real notes and I like to change several to smaller bills. The front desk is no help with these requests. They even tell me there are no smaller bills in the back office.

I just slept there one night because my flight was canceled. The checkin process was, indeed, very slow and take too long, if we consider the Ibis standards.

Just a few blocks from Santos Dumont Airport and the US Consulate, my room was clean, modern decor as you'd expect of an Ibis. Staff was very courteous and helpful. They also had shampoo and toothpaste available (at a price of course) and it was more convenient than going to a drugstore. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

The room was comfortable and the staff was great. However, at check-in I was asked if I preferred a room on an upper or lower floor level to which I answered that the only think I wanted was a quiet, silent room. The next day I woke up to the sounds of a construction and was informed that there was a room being renovated in the end of the hall. So much for asking for a silent room!!!

We stayed just for few hours, but the hotel is fine. The surroundings are a bit dangerous at night outside the hotel, with many homeless people just a few meters from the hotel.

Needed a place to stay at the last moment and Ibis perfectly suited my need for a comfortable bed and a warm shower. Only disappointing aspect was the lack of maintenance in the AC system which had missing pieces and looked dirty and was impossible to change the set temperature. However, this was not an obstacle to a good night of sleep given it was not a particularly warm night.
