Over $300/night for a middle of the road, 3.5* (max) hotel booked 4 months in advance leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Appreciate Rotorua was very busy and hotels use dynamic pricing to increase yield but there is yield management and gouging and this feels like the later. The following week the same room would cost you $115. To add insult to injury, I spoke to people booking 2 weeks prior who had paid around the $200/night mark. I won't be using Ibis again, Perhaps NZ properties should suggest a more considered pricing strategy to their French owners!?

The front of house staff are friendly and good at what they do, hjowever at times when checking in I have found the front of house very crowded with people crammed into the norrow space along in front of the lifts. I think teh front of house and check in space could be better designed.

Annoyed that only one lift was functioning and I had to wait for endless tourists who were checking to get to their bus.

Saggy beds and bathroom bench pulling away from wall

Not worth the price we could have got a better room for the same price both beds had huge sagging dips and the bathroom bench had pulled away from the wall on a clean forward so everything rolled off on to the floor!

My family and I stayed in Ibis Rotorua on the 19th till 21st April. The stay was fully paid for through the internet and upon checking in , I was asked to deposit an amount of NZ$100 per night for "incidentals" ( total $200) for the 2 nights stay. The receptionist mentioned the deposit would be returned after a few days after accounting settles it and I fully understand that. The room had no mini bar and there was nothing you could use as "incidentals". It has been three week since returning and my Travel Oz credit card has yet to be "credited" or refunded back on the amount. This is not right to treat guest!!

Room had a strange smell (even after we upgraded to a lake view room), carpets had all kinds of stains and room was not cleaned well.

There were Asian students on my floor who were very noisy till late and noisey in the early morning. Did not sleep well 2 nights

Basic amenities in a small town. Only issue is allowing guests to return past a certain time would be of certain difficulty.

The room is intimate, inviting, warm and clean. The beds are very comfortable and the selection menu for breakfast is huge. A bonus is that you're so handy to restaurants and entertainment walking to events is not a problem

When I came to check in took a long time, I was then asked for my credit card however I was the for business and it was to be charged back to my employer. I choose to have dinner at the hotel. My food arrived cold it then took an hour before I got hot food which appeared to be heated in the microwave. Your front-line staff were really helpful, polite and kind. The room was really clean and with good beds. My TV did make a bit of a buzzing sound. When I check out I was then asked to pay for my food that was to be charged back to my employer.

We were greeted by a lovely,smiling receptionist(even though she was not well) and given an early check in. Our room had an awesome view of the lake. The only downer with the room was one of the two room lights didn't work and the bedside clock didn't work. I asked the evening receptionist about getting another clock but it didn't arrive. I was surprised when I ordered a lime and soda from the bar for my wife and the can of soda water was straight off the shelf. Not chilled. It was added to some ice in a glass but being a warm drink melted the ice straight away. I don't know why they are not served chilled. I noticed at breakfast there was only one staff member on in the dining room. The young lady did an awesome job as she had several tour coaches in as well as the regular guests.
