Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed on window side in our room was too soft for my wife and sloped to one side. We asked staff to fix which they did by installing a back board, seemed to fix the problem. You may want to look at this bed (*room 501)

Service was wonderful from most staff, especially at the front and in the dinning area. While service was excellent in many areas the hotel is tired (carpeting, room decor, bedding, etc.). For instance, mattresses should be turned/flipped every so often. My mattress had not been flipped for a major period of time. I spent sleeping “downhill” because everyone preceding me slept on that side of the bed because it was closest to the bathroom. Lastly, it would be helpful if there were electrical plugs at the bedside for iPhones, iPads, etc.

We have stayed at Sofitel Queenstown on quite a number of occasions. It has always been our No. 1 choice in Queenstown. We stayed for the first time this visit as Accor Platinum Members and there was absolutely no difference, if not, less benefits than our past stays as Gold Accor Members. The only difference we received was three vouchers for basic drinks (wine and beer), which we were entitled to anyway, as we paid for a suite which included breakfast and access to the very busy and very small club lounge space. So overall, very disappointed that being a Accor Platinum Member meant very little on this occasion.

We were 4 families (all adults) staying for 3 nights wanting to explore Queenstown. The service every were we went in Queenstown was very good topped by the outstanding service we had in Sofitel. The staff were extremely helpful, polite, accommodating and dependable. Very professional. We had a dinner at the hotel and the waiter overheard that two in our party were celebrating their birthday, so at the end of the evening they brought our a birthday treat for both of them. When we wanted to consider dining options near by, Simon in reception did the homework, printed the menus of the target restaurants and slipped them under the door.

« Warm welcome, helpful staff, good location, lovely room & would not hesitate to stay again »

We were warmly welcomed by assistant manager Simon Schmidt who was genuine, helpful and attentive throughout our stay. We arrived early and it was appreciated that Simon allowed us to check into our room early. This was helpful to us having flown into Queenstown and allowed us to start exploring the local area within a short time of arriving at the hotel. The room was everything I had hoped for, imagined and more and Simon showed us to the room after checking in and assisted with our luggage. Stayed here for 5 nights and wish I could have stayed on longer in order to enjoy the hotel, room and the facilities more. I did not eat at the hotel restaurant as wanted to explore the restaurants nearby and there were many to choose from all within a short walk from the Sofitel. Simon and Georgina were helpful to provide me with some recommendations when it came to eating out and that was appreciated.

The room on the 6th floor was drafty and the heat (even at 27 C) was not enough to warm it up some times during the day. Staff very good and responsive, room comfortable for most times during the day.

Stayed Nov '18 with a large corporate group making use of the meeting rooms and full hotel facilities. We were very impressed with the level of service and accommodating nature of all staff. The hotel location is perfect for being downtown with all local attractions walking distance and accessibility to tourist attractions.

Fantastic front staff. But our first morning at Breakfast we were stunned when we were confronted with a staff member with what we were going to have which option, it was so over the top. Next morning we went else where. We had a lovely dinner at Hotel the night before as well.

Although the hotel has a good location and staff are very good the guest rooms are dated. Beds are in bad condition and need replacing.Inadequate location for plug ins for charging.Bathroom vanity are not practical-very difficult to control and lot odf splashing of water.

Was on the Tauck tour. 5 star accommodations in the room and the food was first class. A little disappointed with the exercise facility. It was important to me and it was a bit limited. I would also like to see a few usb charging outlets. Important today for phones and ipads.
