Had a good 2nd visit to this Ibis hotel which is well located for Birmingham city centre. The rooms are basic but clean. The continental breakfast is good value. The hotel has parking available.

Staff were most helpful. My only criticism was that there was a slight unpleasant drains smell from the "shower room".

The hotel was fine. Budget of course, so no kettle etc. The room was a bit cold though. Staff were friendly and helpful. Downside is the dodgy walk through the subway from New Street.

Excellent staff. WiFi worked OK, some minor irritants. Water flow rate for the basin [room 135] was abysmal, but the shower was excellent. The bed sheets are barely wide enough for the bed, so room for improvement ... Not perfect, but I will almost certainly go there again ...

« Just a little too basic »

It was certainly an improved experience over my previous stay but the rooms are just a little too basic, i really hate the plastic stool in the room, there is enough room for a chair with a back on it. After sitting on the stool for a while the blood stops rushing to your legs... it's really not great. I think also, in line with similar budget hotels you should have a soap/shower gel dispenser in the shower room at least. Also have tea & coffee facilities in the room or free of charge downstairs. You are charging a fair amount of money, in line with local B & B's that also offer breakfast so not particularly cheap. It's okay for a 1 or 2 night stay only.

I’m afraid that pricing in hotels (whether ours or other brands’) follows the laws of supply and demand, and we work on a similar basis to low cost airlines. Prices therefore become dependent on time of booking. And this explains why your rate differed from other members of your party. We feel this rate was competitive by comparison with what other hotels were charging at the time. I trust also - as the people who took your reservation have confirmed - that you were made fully aware of the price when you made your reservation and that it was for a room only – a brand policy for all public rates. I was very happy with the experience however i was double charged for my booking on the Saturday night which was for three members of the group who were arriving later. I used my card for the early check in and paid in cash at 10:30am approximately so that the keys were available when the group arrived after 1. I e-mailed the hotel about this yesterday the 2/10/18 but i still haven't got a response.

Reception staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly- all praise to them. Whilst the room initially felt like a dentists waiting room, the room served its purpose. The bed was well made and dealt with the sexual prowess of myself and my partner nicely. Overall, for a dirty night away I’d recommend.
