Ideally located, excellent friendly and helpful staff, very easy check-in and out, comfortable room, nice breakfast and very friendly environment. They dealt with my request for a ground or first floor room with quibble. Will use again and would recommend.

So, I checked in, fine. I walk to my room, fine. I unlock the door, fine. I walk into my room, umm - what's that smell? Not fine. Search 15 minutes for smell, Not fine. Pull down bed linens, find poo poo. Very not fine.

Room was clean and tidy, and a stone's throw away from the O2 Academy, which is why we booked it. Location was good, only about a ten minute walk from Bullring shopping centre and markets. The toilet in the room was very small (if you're tall like us you end up with your knees and head against the door!), and the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room was felt quite badly. I appreciate it is a budget hotel but it's not much to include a travel kettle in the room, especially when you've travelled a long distance and need re-caffienation! The bed was quite hard, but as stated, was clean and perfectly adequate for collapsing into after a storming concert. The staff were lovely, polite and very helpful; definitely a credit to the establishment. Overall, a satisfactory visit.

I was happy with the central location of the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, however, there was a very bad smell coming from the shower throughout my stay. I enjoyed the breakfast.

« Overpriced for a very basic hotel »

Easy to find , situated close to New St station, and perfect for 02 academy. Booked in quickly at what was more like a shop till than a reception . Room was clean but very small , shower and sink in same room as bed and a separate toilet claustrophobic in size. Tried to buy a drink from fridge ,as there is no bar , and gave up waiting to pay for it while someone was trying to book in . Slept well in a comphy enough bed but was woken at 6.30 to the sound of a van being loaded just underneath our window. Breakfast is self serve continental and is eaten in a area that looks like a mcdonalds... and all this for £140 ?? Just not worth it .

« Parking Farce »

We arrived on the Friday evening and checked in. We were asked if we wanted parking, which we did, and were charged £14 for two nights parking. We then left and went to visit my daughter for the evening. On returning the "Alpha Male" security guard refused to let us back in as the car park was full. Clearly your staff had sold more parking spaces than were available. I do not believe they didn't know this. I had to speak to the receptionist who tried to give me a refund, but in the end after I explained that he was in breach of contract and probably committing fraud (selling a non existent parking space) he let us into the car park. I had to block another car in, and had a very poor nights sleep worrying if your staff would call in the tow truck threatened by your security guard, or if the people blocked in would need to get out. On Saturday we returned to the hotel much earlier than we wanted to in an effort to ensure we didn't have to go through this again. A very poor experience, I expect MUCH better from this group of hotels. In terms of the hotel itself, it's ok and competitively priced but in future I think we'll be avoiding this hotel group.

« Another Nice Stay »

No problems, the staff were efficient and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. The only thing that was irritating was the lifts, seemed to have a mind of their own. Worked when they felt like it, wasn't the only one sliding the cards, pressing the button and then watching the lift light going up and down multiple times..... Again I was not the only one looking unimpressed.

« Great for O2 Academy Gigs »

We stayed here twice while attending gigs at the O2 Academy. Basic rooms with no carpets, shampoo, hairdryer or tea/coffee but clean and bed was surprisingly comfortable. Depending on location some rooms experience traffic noise if windows are open. Good breakfast although no cooked option, on-site parking £7/day. China town close by and walking distanceof city centre shops and stations.
