Incompetent Front Reception Has No Regards For ACCOR Members!

In all my years of Globetrotting, staying at numerous ACCOR chains of Hotels and being a GOLD ACCOR Member in good standing. This totally Unprofessional Hotel’s Management is just about the worst experience I have ever encountered in the entire hospitality industry in all my years! THEIR EXTREMELY PREJUDICIAL TREATMENTS TO CERTAIN GUESTS REALLY IRKS AND DISGUSTS ME! They have no regards nor respect for their ACCOR members. I have stayed a total of 3 nights and on the 4th night which is my last night, the supervisor wanted to evict me from my room to make way for another guests! Am I also not a guest? I have been staying in the same room for the past few nights and now they want to downgrade me to a much smaller room on a lower and noisier floor. Even my GOLD status privileges with ACCOR doesn’t mean SQUAT to them! I am Livid for being so prejudicially mistreated. I reserved and paid exactly what was stipulated in the ACCOR website. What made me any less important as a GOLD ACCOR Member; that I have to vacate my room for another guest whom I reckon is not even an ACCOR Member and have my quiet peaceful stay abruptly and rudely disrupted?? I implore everyone to reconsider making reservations with this unethical Mercure Manaus Hotel and if you still insist on staying with them at your own peril; then it’s imperative that you exercise care and caution when dealing with this unprofessional, unscrupulous and Uncivilised Supervisor. ** “I made my payment for my room charges earlier on and when I requested for a receipt on the morning of 9th September from the fat front reception girl; only to have her lie to me that the computer was down and out; however when a senior gentleman staff appeared from the office and I asked him again, he printed out my receipt without the slightest hesitation! His efficiency was impressive, commendable and impressive! The fat Reception and another taller girl gave me the most contemptuous glare as if I just stole something from them!?!” ** Your Disgusted Guest, Eric Room 1106.

We booked this room on the way back from the forest. We were exhausted and had a plane during the night. We use the room to take a refresh ourself. That’s all. However, as we left the Mercure Manaus at 12 am we didn’t enjoy the breakfast even we have pay for this service! Also, we asked many time for an iron. That was impossible!

I had higher expectations as per my past experiences in Mercure Hotels around the world. The room was complete, but dull. Towels were not sufficient for all family members, although the number of guests for each room (we had two rooms with 2 and 3 persons) were well noted. Breakfast buffet was a bit short in variety and quality.

Warm welcome and goodbye, staff overall very friendly, breakfast and dinner at restaurant very good for hotel category, room was disappointing: air con not working for the first two days, massive mildew on the ceiling, several lamps not working or with loose contact. Think, testing the correct function of equipment should not be the guest's part!

Terrible rooms

We had to change rooms 3 times when we arrived in the hotel. The first room had the window toward a loud machine of the hotel and the noise was really too much. We asked to change rooms and went all the way down with all our luggage to get a new card. The second room was full of water on the floor. It appeared it had rained inside through the closed windows. We once again had to change rooms. The personnel would not even come up to give us the new keycard, we always had to take all our luggage down to the reception. The third room had lots of mold of the ceiling and smelled strongly like mold. As there were no other rooms available, we had to stay in this room. We then wanted to order something to eat. Having changed rooms for more than half an hour, it was now 23h10. We called the restaurant and asked for some food. We heard the people discussing in the background. The chefs wanted to go home and then told the person on the phone to tell us it wouldn't be possible for make our meal, even after we had explained the situation with the rooms. They only served us a terrible ceasar salad and a tasteless lasagna. They told us it would take 25-30 min for the meal to arrive, but it took ALMOST 1 HOUR. We were shocked with the quality of the restaurant and terrible rooms in the hotel. The corridor in front of our room also had a hole in the ceiling filled with mold and there was water dropping down from it constantly.

I did not get the room I requested. The showers wouldn’t drain fast enough to take a normal shower. There was no safe or iron in the room. There were bugs on the desk. There was no restaurant or food service for dinner.
