« Short, but necessary! »

Surprisingly to find a Novotel in the middle of Geneva 7 mins from the airport by bus, which we have been passing for years unnoticed! The bed was comfortable, nice big TV, very clean! but have to admit that the bath and shower areas were strange and compact, Because they look like an afterthought, something you would find in an airplane or Mobile home! LOL! Staff were great too! Thank You!

Dear Mr. T., You noted our hotel 20/100 due to the check-in problem. We are really surprise about that because since the beginning of the problem encored, we always replied to your request and tried to find a solution in order to resolve it as soon as possible. After many cases of fraud, we have been forced to secure more strictly internet payments - this is why we are now obliged to check all credit cards upon arrival If the customers are not able to present the credit card used for the payment of the stay, we can’t accept the transaction and are obliged to ask for a new payment from the customer + to refund the original transaction We know that this rigor is not very pleasant for our customers, especially for a case like yours but we hope that you understand this position of the hotel and the procedures put in place to prevent fraudsters from taking advantage of the cards. honest people's credit In your situation, upon check-in time, you was not able to present the credit card used for the payment - we had the obligation to request a new one and to refund the original transaction Thank you again for your understanding Cordially Nicolas Philippe Assistant Manager

I prepaid for my rooms. Between paying and arriving my credit card was hacked and I was issued a new card. Bc I couldnt produce the orig card I had to pay AGAIN and have to seek a refund on first charge.

From the moment we entered reception to check in till we checked out the overall impression we got from this hotel was how friendly and helpful all the staff were. Reception staff breakfast staff and housekeeping all so friendly. Room was excellent in terms of size and comfort. Such a quiet hotel as well. If we ever returned to Geneva would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

« Awful client service from front desk lady »

My card was pre-authorized prior to arrival despite fully flexible rate till date of arrival. This was not advertised on the site and is inappropriate (to mention it was my 4th stay at this hotel in the last 7 years, last being last year and this never happened before). Even more when I arrived I was asked whether i want to pay on arrival in full for the room I replied that yes while card didn't proceed. I then said that will retinr later after calling to bank while was not able to do this same day. Next day I realized that my card is blocked and i can't open the room, then lady at reception told me that indeed my card was programmed only for 1 day as I didn't pay the room in full for 3 nights - this is ridiculous - I never did hear more strange thing - as I normally should not be paying in full in advance. I was told on this remark that because my card was refused they did have to have these restrictive steps and even more she told me that I need to return now to my room take my card and pay (discussion was at 23.00 when I just returned to hotel quite tired after long day) - this was kind of accusation - in other words this "nice" lady at reception (who’s name I can’t unfortunately recall) did accuse me in attempt not to pay and even more asked the guest to pay immediately to prove smth to her probably- which is non-sense and extremely unprofessional - I can’t recall when i was treated like this. Especially ridiculous giving my 10 years participation in Accor program and 4 or of those in gold status (which I again will retain later this year) and even more ridiculous giving that it was my 4th stay in this property (and looking at the circumstances probably the last) so I clearly proved my good reputation I believe. When i said all this to this "nice" lady instead of any apologies i only did hear that it is their rules which they follow. Sorry, I can't believe that being suspicious to loyal guest and making groundless accusations is the hotel’s rule. I was unfortunately not able to speak with her manager in the morning as she suggested however I'm waiting for formal proper apologies from the hotel. Such attitude ruining the brand loyalty and creating very huge dissatisfaction. Trust me i do not tend to put everything in bad light, even more being frequent traveler and having 120+ reviews on Tripadvisor I rarely if not never writing such negative things. This time though I was forced. Hope this will help hotel to improve

Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Suites Genève Aéroport. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Concerning your complain, we would like to inform you that the credit procedure has been respected. All our customers must send a valid credit card to make a reservation in our hotel. We have the obligation to veirfy each one in order to be certain to have a sufficient bank guarantee to cover the first night in case of No-Show (no presentation of the customer) When you arrived, our receptionist gave you 2 possibility : - the opportunity to pay your stay in totality - increase the bank guarantee to cover the entire stay and pay upon departure. Unfortunately, a payment problem occurred and we could not take the payment the same day. For this reason, the room card was only activated for one night as the bank guarantee only covered one night. Accor Group loyalty cards can not be accepted as a bank guarantee - this decision was taken a long time ago. "Sorry, I can't believe that being suspicious to loyal guest and making groundless accusations is the hotel’s rule" You are right, this is not our hotel's rule - She never accused you about non payment, she just respected the policies of the hotel. After many unpaid in the past, hotels are now obliged to ensure the liquidity of their customers. Honest people suffer the consequences of a minority. About feather pillows, we would like to inform you the possibility to have it. Please ask to the reception during your next stay. Nice hotel with good space rooms. Big and enough cars parking. The staff need more training about how to deal with guests. They are rude and not friendly especially who serves guests during breakfast meal.
