The hotel itself is very nice, welcoming staff but lacking in a few areas, bottled water in the room would be appreciated along with shower caps and also a few more toiletries. The breakfast is very expensive so we chose to have breakfast out. Also a car park charge for residents is another added extra considering the hotel prices

Many thanks for your feedback Karen, I was sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion prompting you to give an overall rating of 5/10 in particular due to the value for money. I would like to confirm that Novotel offer a flexible pricing policy whereby the further you book in advance the better the rate and we always guarantee the best rate available on our own websites including promotional deals from our shopping cart for breakfast etc.. Furthermore, our loyalty members of 'Le Club' (which is free to join) can also take advantage of a further reduction of 10% from the room rate. Regarding the charges for the car park, as you are aware we do have a very large multi-storey underground car park which we must ensure is safe for both guest and colleague therefore, our air handling units (AHU) are in constant use to extract the harmful exhaust fumes. Although we ensure we offer competitive parking fees (the average cost in Bristol is now £20/27 per day) these fees help contribute to to the running costs of this equipment and I am sure that you are aware that in a major city centre it is standard commercial practice to charge for parking. Alternatively, the hotel is just a short stroll away from Bristol Temple Meads Railways station which you may wish to consider on your next visit to the city. On a more positive note, I was glad to hear that you found the hotel overall to be very nice and it is our sincere hope that you will consider Novotel again in the future. Clean and comfortable room in Bristol. Well located. Only niggle was the lack of milk in the room when making Tea in the morning.

Staff were friendly and approachable, room was large and comfortable. A few drawbacks in the room such as towel and bedding stock needs updating and lack of power points/USB ports in room

« Defines quality - excellent experience at a great price »

Arriving after 10pm I had low expectations of checking in, instead it was great with a warm welcome and efficient process. Room was very good, we had been allocated a 'My Room' which was themed on travel. The small touches really enhanced our stay. Breakfast was delicious - I challenge anyone to find better buttermilk pancakes in the UK. On checking out the member of staff on reception was asked by an Italian couple to recommend where to visit. The receptionist was brilliant showing a genuine interest in helping and a great local knowledge communicated very clearly with a map. The couple were clearly delighted. The location and experience this hotel offers are consistent excellent - I look forward to staying again soon.

Absolutely no complaints at all. In fact, having housekeeping leave fresh towels, coffee milk, and toilet paper outside my door while I was sleeping to recover from jet lag was WONDERFUL.

All staff excellent,bar /restaurant staff exceptional on Saturday evening. Hotel very clean, facilities in room excellent. My wife and I choose the Novotel because of its proximity to Temple Meads station,hotel was recommended by Pathfinder tours ,we had an early start on the “ Torbay Express “ on Sunday morning. Have already recommended hotel to friends.

The staff were very friendly. The breakfast had a great variety and catered well for dietary requirements. It was a shame there was no soya milk or equivalent in The rooms with the tea/coffee facilities. The location is convenient & despite being by a busy road we found it very quiet. The room was spacious. It was useful to be able to leave our bags with reception after check out so we could wander around Bristol without them.

We stayed for one night as a stop off on the way to Cornwall for half term. Excellent straightforward check in on arrival. The welcome was very good. Great information given about restaurants, city centre directions and where to go. Motivated and interested staff (this is a rare thing these days), even asked us what could be improved when we checked out. Would recommend this hotel.

Overall impression on entering the room - carpet quite badly stained, toilet needed a good clean. During the night I could hear a continual drip from the shower which I could not stop. The outer surface of the hairdryer was discoloured from heat. Everyday cleaning was fine but the overall effect was not worthy of a 4 star hotel. I and my husband have never before had a demand for a deposit for extras when checking in on-line!!
