I enjoyed my 2 night stay in August. The bed was super comfortable. There were works going on outside my window, but it wasn't too disruptive. The buffet breakfast was very good, however make sure you get there early. we came down later (10am) on Sunday morning, and there was not much choice left. Any issues we had with the room were sorted quickly and without issue. The hotel is well situated within a 5 minute walk to Temple mead Train station and 10 minute walk to the city centre. I would recommend this hotel and will be returning on my next trip to Bristol.

Not too satisfying

I was disappointed to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion Jane in particular the value for money perception which has prompted you to give an overall rating of just 6/10, please accept my sincere apologies. Although Novotel operate a flexible pricing policy whereby, the further in advance you make your reservation the better the rate , similar to airline seats however, I see that you chose an external online travel agent for this particular booking. Actually getting a room took a while. But fully understandable when you walk in and ask if any rooms free. Waited 30mins-1hr roughly for room to get cleaned and ready for a family of 4. Upon room was clean and tidy, perfect facilities inside. Even ordered take away food for the night too which was perfect.

Children did not sleep due to noise levels

My husband stays at this hotel every 2 weeks with his children, never an issue, but this particular time, we had 2 rooms booked and with 2 children and a baby no one slept due to the noise levels outside the hotel with the roadworks. We were not notified in advance of any disruption, we drive over 300 miles to get there we arrived at 6:45pm and by 2 am all 3 children were still awake and crying with tiredness, my husband went outside and asked the workmen to stop then eventually did, my baby fell asleep instantly, the duty manager at the time did offer us a room Frhe back of the hotel but we weren't about to move all 3 children at that time of night. The following day we then had to drive our 300 mile journey back on very little sleep. So not only were we left sleep deprived but out of pocket also for the privilege

I was sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion L., in particular the disturbance by noise due to the city centre roadworks, please accept my sincere apology. Although these particular changes to the city have been ongoing for numerous years, we have worked closely with the City Council who assured the hotel that all the noise generated by the road construction companies will be as low as possible and should not continue beyond 10:30 pm. I can emphasize with the inconvenience that this may have caused you and your family on this occasion if they had over run and I will certainly pass on your feedback to the city council. On a more positive note, we have now been informed that these specific works which commenced over three years ago and have been changing daily, will finally be completed in the coming weeks. Once again, we sincerely apologize on behalf of the city and it is our hope that you will consider Novotel again in the future. Warmest regards, Iain France - General Manager

The hotel is in a great location a short walk from both the main station as well as the lively town centre which has a great selection of restaurants, bars and clubs. Staff were friendly and attentive and our room was a great size and even included a mini-fridge - if only all hotels provided these. There was a great selection for breakfast and hot food was hot and the cold was cold - not always the case in some hotels. Highly recommended if you need to stay in Bristol.

All had to wait outside for a fire alarm that went off by fault at 1:30am, as appreciate ruined my nights sleep.

I was sorry to learn that your experience did not meet your expectations on this occasion Mark in particular, the disturbance caused by the fire alarm which has prompted you to give an overall rating of just 2/10 which is very disappointing. I am sure that you can appreciate, fire detection systems are installed to protect all of us to ensure our safety. I can confirm that the fire detection system identified an issue within the hotel and that this was not a false alarm which for obvious reasons, resulted in the evacuation of the building. I understand that my team who are fully trained and prepared for situations out of our control, did react swiftly in investigating the issue and ensuring that all guests and colleagues were safe. I can emphasize that this may have caused you some inconvenience especially because of the timing however, I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that this was certainly an isolated incident . May I also take this opportunity to assure you that the health and safety of both guest and colleague is of paramount importance to Novotel therefore, I thank you for your full understanding regarding this unforeseen circumstance and difficult situation the team had to handle at the time. as I have said in my email. there was a beeping noise n the room which I could not find at 3am in the morning. I checked everything from radio, to remote control , and I got not hot water for my early morning shower at 5am
