« Perfect over night stop for a company event. »

Both me and my family stayed for a night after a company event, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. My only gripe with the room was the air conditioning, being that it was around 30oC that day the air con wasn’t much use at all, only had the effect of it if you were stood on something right by the vent. Breakfast was fantastic and there was a wide verity of food to choose from, and I can’t top my hat to the waiters enough, as our son decided to do some form or running headbut dive into the edge of the table (don’t ask me what goes through a two year olds head to think that there was going to be a good outcome) this left him with a nasty gash to the head, the waiters came and gave us a ice pack and antiseptic wipes and plasters, and made sure that he was alright. So thank you to them. Over all I had a very pleasant stay.

Generally good but over the time staying had no power sockets working in the room. Failed to fix what looked like a trip switch that needed reseting or even offering, let alone moving to an alternative room.

We checked in easily. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. We were very happy with our room, and loved the air conditioning. It was very clean, very spacious. We had drinks and food several times in the bar and found it very nice (wine a bit expensive). We sought help at reception to get a taxi and all went very smoothly. The roadworks outside were a nuisance as we made our way to the station but that’s not the Hotel’s fault. We would definitely stay with Novotel again. We stayed with you as a result of a recommendation.

As a Le Club gold member I rely upon and expect a known performance world wide. This hotel has failed to live up to the expectations I had come to expect however this has unfortunately become more common throughout the group. There is supposed to be prioritised check in there wasn’t, on a separate occasion a member of reception staff walked away from reception with guests waiting. Previous visits to Accor hotels as a gold member you were made to feel a little bit special your name was known, a welcome drink was offered and rooms upgraded. Not here you felt your were here on sufferance. Bar staff were better but restaurant use was discouraged.

« One night in a suite with the grand kids »

We had a 2 room suite for us and the 2 small grandkids. This meant a double bed for us and a twin bed settee for the kids which was perfect for them. They had their own TV and toilet and the 2 rooms were separated byvsliding panel doors. The hotel was quiet and we all got a good nights sleep. All the staff we encoubtered were polite, welcoming and very professional. The breakfast was really good at a quiet time with lots of freshly prepared food. Overall an excellent experience.

I was sorry however, to learn that you were disappointed that there was a charge for parking. As you are aware, we have a convenient and secure on-site large multi-storey underground car park, these charges help us with the running cost of the air extraction system to ensure the well-being of both guest and colleague. Although, the average parking charge for 24 hours in Bristol is approximately £20/25, we do our utmost to minimize the charge to just £10 per 24 hours for our guests. « Comfy bed, quiet, clean. Clearer info from staff needed. Facilities need to be open when advertised »

Fast check in, happy with spacious and clean room. Very comfortable bed. Spacious shower area. Booking.com listing suggests there will be a bath, but only a shower. Enjoyed the breakfast which I ordered as room service. When checking in I specifically asked about room service breakfast, and was told to fill out the form to hang on the door. There was no form in the room so I went back down to reception, and felt I had to state several times that it wasn't in the room before I was given a form. I wasn't advised that i'd need an entry code for the gym facilities, so again had to come back down to reception in the morning to fill out the form for this. This could have been done at check-in surely. At 7.30 am when I got through the door to the gym, nothing had been turned on yet, neither equipment nor lights. Facilities should be opened up by staff at the advertised time. When my breakfast was delivered, I was asked to pay the tray charge in cash, which I scrambled to find, as I thought i'd put my card details by to cover charges to the room. Clearer info at check-in needed really.

I was however, sorry to learn that you encountered issues regarding the clarity of information given upon arrival prompting you to give an overall rating of only 4/10 which is very disappointing. I will certainly discuss your feedback with my team and take the appropriate measures to prevent future occurrence. Regarding charging extras to your bedroom, this is generally requested upon arrival for all our guests and normally we then ask for a pre-authorisation of your credit card which will then open credit to your account for items to be charged within the hotel allowing a hassle free stay. I was also sorry to hear that we did not provide clear information on the In-Balance by Novotel, albeit there is a large sign by the elevators and information in our bedroom room directory. We do however, by law due to Health & Safety Act in the UK, require all our guests to register at the front desk and agree to the terms & conditions when using these facilities which is when the entry code is given. Your feedback that all the lights were switched off in the leisure area did surprised me as this is most unusual especially as the Housekeeping team would have already serviced the Gym at that time, we will certainly monitor this situation as I am unaware of any other similar feedback.
