Despite widespread nearby roadworks disruption the location is perfect for a short walk into the bustling Old Town area just across the river with floating restaurants and bankside bars and eateries. Staff were great but the car park charge (although reasonable) should be included. Aircon ineffectual and in-room mini-fridge did not work (couldn't be fixed as "no maintenance at weekends").

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on your stat Paul, it is appreciated, I am pleased that your enjoyed the location of the hotel and the great staff. Please note that your mini bar fridge has now been fixed and I do apologise about the air comforting system, I am sure you will agree that the UK temperatures are currently very erratic and the air comforting system we operate is finding it very challenging as it operates by gradually adjusting to the external temperature which is unlike air conditioning that is instant cooling using refrigerant gases. We can emphasize with your frustration on the road works, these have been ongoing for numerous years as the city council make improvements to the flow of traffic. Although we do our utmost to ensure the team is constantly up-dated on the changes to ensure we can direct our guest to the hotel this sometimes can be very challenging for us and we thank you for your understanding. « The room was very nice and the service very good except at breakfast. »

At breakfast we were not offered tea or coffee, but directed to the self-service machine. This seemed to be specific to the assistant we had as all the others were offering tea and coffee when seating guests. We were given a pot of coffee when we asked for it.

Parking was easy, front of house staff very friendly and helpful, bed was very comfortable and the room seemed quiet, warm and clean. The hotel is an easy walking distance to the centre and we've already booked to stay there again.

« Great hotel conveniently located »

Excellent experience. Helpful check-in staff. Convenient parking at the back of the hotel. Clean and pleasant room with everything you could need. Fantastic breakfast. Free wifi Convenient location close to Temple Meads station. Only downside (and not the hotel's fault) was the roadworks right outside the building causing huge traffic jams.

I thought the staff on reception were lovely, the breakfast was very good, having milkshakes was a great surprise, the rooms are bigger than i expected by are a little dated, the TV was too far away and having one on the wall infront of the bed would have been perfect. Bathroom was a good size and shower was pretty powerful, all their tolietries were good quality as well.

Check in was slightly slower than expected considering at the time i was the only one checking in. The room was of a good size and comfortable, however the room was hot due to the heating being turned on and the unit in the bedroom was in all essence a waste of time. I had to have the windows open and as i was at the front of the hotel all i could hear was the traffic and roadworks. The morning call was on time but the breakfast left a lot to be talked about. The hot counter food was only tepid and it took a long time to order and receive 2 soft poached eggs. I also had to ask 4 times for another pot of tea. Checkout was slow as i needed a printed receipt for the car parking and had to wait for the receptionist to email it to her colleague who then printed it out.

Regarding the air comforting system, although this operates using the external temperature whereby the system switches to either heating or cooling mode, I am sure that you will agree that this can be fairly challenging at this time of the year with the erratic changes in temperature. However, once the system is switched off in the bedroom this would stop the circulation of either the cool or warm air, please rest assured that my team are available 24/7 and I am sure had we been informed at the time then they would have done their utmost to ensure service recovery. I will certainly discuss your concerns with my team and implement the appropriate measures to prevent future occurrence. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and the quality of the conference facilties was very good, I would say the limited parking does make holding an event with you a little logistically difficult and when I first arrived at the hotel the room was still laid out to the original brief which had been amended. This was quickly rectified though and overall feedback from the event was extremely positive
