Excellent location to enable us to explore Millau and the surrounding area. The staff were very kind, courteous and helpful throughout our stay. The bedroom was absolutely perfect for our needs. Only two negative comments: we felt that the car parking charge was overpriced/very expensive compared to our stays in other Mercure hotels in France - in fact it was almost double what we usually pay. We recently stayed at Mercure Vichy - 8euros for the car park as opposed to 16euros at Millau; we also felt that the price for breakfast was very expensive for what is provided, but appreciate that it is for the convenience of people who may only be having an overnight stay and therefore need to 'get on the road' quickly rather than search for breakfast elsewhere - if the price was more reasonable, I'm sure many more people would use this wonderful facility.

This is the worst Mercure I have ever stayed in. The air conditioning in our room was not working. We reported the issue to the front desk. They said somebody would check it and we went out. On our return it was still not working so we reported it again. A member of staff arrived with an instruction manual!! It still didn't work. We then asked to change rooms. On arrival at our new room we put the air conditioning on and that didn't work. Once again somebody from the front desk came up to check. He agreed it wasn't working. We changed rooms again. At last the air conditioning worked. This hotel is looking tired. The staff did a good job but if the infrastructure has been neglected there is not much they can do.

The hotel suited us perfectly, a modern building in the centre of Millau with very good facilities. Our room was of a good size and beautifully appointed with all the expected features of a quality hotel. We were very happy with our stay and would return to the same hotel if we return to Millau. Millau is a very beautiful city with some very good restaurants and set in spectacular scenery.

The hotel was tired and needs upgrading. The room was lovely and cosy with good views over the rooftops to the bridge. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was extremely disappointing! It had been under-catered and under-staffed. The waitress had to be asked to get more sausages and bacon, although only sausages (which came out of a bowl with cling film on, so had clearly been microwaved). She also had to be asked for egg, which she brought along and appeared to have been microwaved, however, this egg was stone cold so that had to be left on our plates. She did spot when more bread was needed. She didn't seem to understand when someone tried to tell her that the warm milk for coffee was empty. Places had been set, so there was a clear expectation of numbers. Very poor awareness by the catering staff. This poor waitress was run ragged, trying to clear tables and taking breakfasts up to rooms as well as checking rooms numbers. Clearly one person on duty was not enough and we left on a bad experience. For the money we had paid this should have been a lot better. Very disappointing.

« Great hotel in a lovely town »

Stayed in Millau an journey down to S of France. Great hotel, with a really nice top floor room with great views of the town and famous viaduct. Very clean and large bathroom. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We ate out so can’ comment on food, but everything else was great and at a good price. In fact we enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night!

As is usual the hotel and room were unbearably hot, but at least the aircon in the room worked. We spent a comfortable night and had a reasonable breakfast. The bar was extremely expensive and not very well attended, we waited a long time to be served.
