« Great hotel in a lovely town »

Stayed in Millau an journey down to S of France. Great hotel, with a really nice top floor room with great views of the town and famous viaduct. Very clean and large bathroom. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We ate out so can’ comment on food, but everything else was great and at a good price. In fact we enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night!

As is usual the hotel and room were unbearably hot, but at least the aircon in the room worked. We spent a comfortable night and had a reasonable breakfast. The bar was extremely expensive and not very well attended, we waited a long time to be served.

For some reason was allocated a disabled room but no problem with that. However, parking at 16 euros per night was not. Staff friendly and helpful . Food was quite nice. Towels were thin and small, need replacing

Some aspects were fine (friendly receptionists, spacious rooms with nice views), while others were not terribly good (no double glazing, no activities, no smart TV, dirty carpet in the room). It was OK, but not good enough to make me want to come back when I revisit Millau.

« Great location »

Great location. Super secure car park. Staff friendly but don't bother to ask if you enjoyed your stay. The rooms carpets are stained and the furniture is marked. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Overall a very pleasant stay. Staff very helpful and room very nice. Our only complaint was staff had to work both hotels in the same building. People paying to stay in the higher price hotel don't get the level of service they are paying for.

« Amazing view of the viaduct »

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Millau Mercire in a room with a view of the viaduct. I asked to have a lighter blanket instead of the heavy duvet, and housekeeping gave us one that day. The staff was helpful in giving us restaurant and store recommendations.

« IN NEED OF UPGRADING »

The reception and hotel staff were very professional and welcoming. But it does not negate the need for a serious upgrade of the facilities. The bathroom was old; the restaurant / breakfast room off putting. An ideal location but have expereinced far better and certainly for the price.

We payed extra for a room with a view of the Viaduct and was worth it. We had a meal in the restaurant which was good. Parking was an extra 15 euro but well worth it as spaces rare as hens teeth around it.

« Out dated hotel offering very poor facilities. »

Very disappointing. Décor very dated and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast poor eg eggs cold one morning and less choice than I would expect in an Ibis at half the price. Bedroom; quite small, coffee machine very inefficient towels of poor quality and almost worn out. Parking in convenient and very expensive.

« a bit disappointing »

Room not ready for 2 hrs - told next day that Rugby team had stayed on to rest before their match but not explained at the time. Staff stressed Not happy as we had booked in person 3 weeks ahead and hotel must have known by then that Rugby team were staying. Next morning given 10€ reduction only because I had asked for it Hotel was very expensive for what we got - we stayed at Mercure in Montpellier recently and it was cheaper and much better. Shame because we had friends with us who have never been to Mercure before - I doubt they will again.

« A very good comfortable hotel. »

Whilst we were happy to stay at the Mercure, we have done so in the past, we encountered a few problems. Firstly, as Silver Club members, we were offered only one free welcome drink between us [ I have written to Accor Hotels on this subject, but haven't received a reply from them as yet :( ] On our last visit to Millau, we stayed at the Ibis adjoining Mercure and we were offered a complimentary drink each :) Because only one person (of the two of us) was offered a drink, we declined to take the free offer of the one drink :( Please enlighten us as to the rules/regulations on this as it is very confusing at the moment. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. However, the air conditioning was noisy and didn't appear to be functioning 100%. Because we only observed this during the night, we were not inclined to go down to reception to inform them. Also, we didn't want to cause a fuss as life is too short to create scenes over minor problems!! We stay in Millau for at least one night every summer on our way to visit our French friends in the Var .... and will continue to do so in the future either at Mercure or Ibis depending on availability. We found the staff we encountered very welcoming and courteous.
