My stay, like most at this hotel I would assume, was a one night transit and the hotel is perfect for this; it is close to the airport (about a five minute drive) and there isa supermarket and cafe only a five minute walk away. Two things they could improve on:1. I sent an email asking if there was a shuttle service but never received a reply. When I arrived at the airport, I asked at the information desk and it turns out there is a shuttle service for which they charge $7.. 2. Tried unsuccessfully to log on to the internet so rang the front desk and it turns out they changed the password and I would have thought this information should have been provided at check in. However, the internet use was complimentary and it was high speed.Everything else was fine. The room was good, a late checkout was available and the front desk staff were friendly. I would stay here again.

Dear Simon, Thank you for this opportunity to provide comment on our recent stay with Mercure. Firstly, we arrived after our flight from Singapore to be greeted enthusiastically by front desk staff. However, after booking a low level family room many months in advance (we expressly choose to stay only with hotels that can provide low level accomodation) we were told our allocated room was on the 8th or 9th floor. We explained that we had requested a room on a low level floor many months earlier. A 2nd floor room 234 ? (King) was made available with no refund of monies in relation to lesser class of room. All of this was ok with us as it provided low level accomodation. Unfortunately, the A/C was not working in room 234 and we accepted that we would remain in 234. Luckily the duty manager intervened and found room 239 for us. By this time, all chance of a good night's sleep was lost. The hotel did offer us a bottle of wine together with a cheese platter both of which were greatfully appreciated. The main problem was the disregard shown by Mercure to a long standing request for a room on a low level. Kind regards John S..

Better directions as to how to catch the coach from the Domestic Terminal would be helpful. When travelling from the hotel to the International Terminal I suggest walking. It is just over 1K rather than the 460 metres that the desk claims, but it is an enjoyable walk, faster than waiting for the shuttle, and avoids sitting in traffic

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. However, the mattresses and pillows were not as comfortable as I have experienced in the past and there was no body lotion. These little touches make a stay especially for regular travellers. I have always used the Mercure at Sydney Airport and Novotel in other locations because I could guarantee a comfortable bed, not so sure now.

« Let down by the Restaurant experience. »

Reception was very good. Room was excellent. Restaurant service extremely poor. Both orders placed at same time, my meal came quickly, after 20 minutes we had to ask what happened with my wife’s meal, still had not been delivered. 10 minutes later her meal was delivered to the table and they had also redone my order, then the waiters had a discussion of what happened to cause a 2nd meal being prepared for me. The waiter did reduce my wife’s meal price by 50% however the overall experience would make you really think twice about using the hotels restaurant. Note: approx 5 years ago when travelling overseas we used to spend a night there and used the restaurant for a good meal before our flight, in those days we had no issues. We parked our car for the night and was doubled billed for the parking. As an Accor member, what can I say other than not a good feeling about our stay.
