Extremely poor service, staff couldn’t care less about the customers. Booking info was misleading and at the end of the stay they attempted to charge us additional room costs when we had paid fully on booking

Our stay at your hotel was very comfortable. The suite was spacious and clean. Your staff was very friendly and courteous. The restaurant staff was attentive and the food was delicious. Being close to the airport was a huge benefit!

The air con in room did not work properly it was set to heat at 3.30am prior to a big flight we had to have someone come in and look at it. Very uncomfortable night

« have stayed here multiple times when travelling for business the mercure was always my choice for airport accommodation this time the hotel let me down. »

Firstly I would like to start with telling you that my experience at the venue had always been excellent in past visits and I was upset over my experience on my last visit. I wasn't going to return this however, being a business owner myself, if something was lacking in regard to staff performance I would want to know about it and deal with it. So , when I had the reminder to fill in this survey I thought I should as perhaps there had been a change in the management or staff or something as the attitude of the reception staff had changed so drastically. As mentioned all previous experiences at the Mercure have been great. My husband had booked the accomodation for us as my family had surprised me with a trip to Noosa as a birthday surprise for me and we had an early flight to Noosa the next day. When we arrived that night an American lady checked us in at reception, when I enquired if I could please request an upgraded room I was told this was not possible and the room that we had was a superior room anyway. Her attitude was rather dismissive if I could describe it in a word. As we were walking to our room, I noticed platter of food on the floor - there was a fruit platter and beverage outside of the door in our corridor. I thought that was strange, and we commented maybe the people didn't like the fruit and had put it at the door for staff to collect .... which is where you normally leave a tray after finished with room service. Once we entered the room that we were provided i noted, that it had two beds in in, not a queen or a king so my husband and I could have one bed, and it was not a superior room either as I have stayed there previously. But I didn't want to make fuss and spoil my birthday holiday and our night before dinner and travelling tomorrow. We then went down to dinner in the restaurant Normally when I check in I am provided with a welcome letter with all the benefits outlined according to my membership it is normally a welcome letter addressed to me I found it strange that we didn't get one this time. After we checked in to our room we went to the restaurant downstairs (which was great and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming ) As we were waiting in in the restaurant for dinner, I realised we didn't get the information for access to the internet, so I went over to reception and asked the same lady with the American accent who then gave me the details to access I was then asked if I wanted to have a bottle of wine or other options delivered to our room ( normally this is offered at check in) I was then offered the choice of bottle of wine, or stawberries dipped in chocolate etc and I opted for a bottle of sparkling mineral water and the strawberries. I re joined my husband at the restaurant and gave him the details to access password, for internet. I told him that we could have some strawberries in chocolate in our room after dinner which I knew he liked. We then overheard two staff members in the restaurant having a heated discussion about someone in the kitchen stating that they were too lazy prepare the strawberries dipped in chocolate for a guests room ( later I realised it must have been our complimentary platter that they were discussing) When we ordered dinner, one of the staff that looked like a manager came over to us to welcome us, and I asked if he could explain what was gluten free on the menu as my husband was a coeliac. We chose the squid/calamari dish which was an entree dish and asked if we could have it as a main. We were told that would not be a problem. were were also told that that it was gluten free. So we ordered 2 of these dishes as a main. We also ordered I think some of the potatoes which were gf. The gentleman returned a short time later, and apologised profusely, explaining that the dish was not gf, so my husband cancelled his and I said that was fine I would still have mine. We told him it was ok and that my husband would be fine with just the potatoes and salad dish that he ordered and not to worry. He apologised profusely, and then offered to only charge the remaining dish for the entre price instead of the main, we thanked him and enjoyed dinner. When we paid for the dinner in cash, we did note that the discount offered was not included and the gentleman that had offered the discount was no longer there, not wanting to have yet another drama we chose to let it go..... However our night of bumbles was to continue, as we were leaving the restaurant, and making our way back to the room the receptionist lady spied us ( the same one) and came over to us, to let us know she was apologising but the kitchen had no strawberries in stock and they had sent up a fruit platter instead....at this stage we just wanted to get to our room have a shower and go to bed, and not wishing to spoil the evening we simply agreed and went to our room. I didn't think getting into an altercation before bedtime would have achieved anything. We joked about it on the way to the room, how we heard staff in the restaurant. As we approached our room, we noticed outside our door a bottle of sparkling water, and an open fruit platter with no cover on a tray ( please note that there was not even plastic covering the food) the fruit platter and bottle had been left sitting on the floor by our door. I was so shocked to see the food sitting there in the open that initially we made a joke of it and I took a photo, then we were taken aback that our food had been left out like that. Not wanting to eat the food that had been sitting there since we had dinner, uncovered we left it at the door where it was placed by staff. (as the other guests must have that we had noticed earlier. ) I wanted to call down and make a complaint to reception but did not want to get into an altercation with the unfriendly lady at reception so I left it. Normally on other visits, we were also kindly offered a similar gesture of a platter, however the platters were always placed inside our room with a nice welcome note. So this was a bit of a shock to find food uncovered simply left at the door. Not only is this unhygienic and poor service to a regular visitor and accor member, economically for the hotel it is a waste, as we and other guests on our floor had left the food there. So staff time to prepare and cost of food was wasted, not to mention clients perceptions of the service leaving an impression. Other than the experiences described above and the fact that our room was facing the night road works which were quite noisy even through the double windows, we had a good experience at breakfast the next morning and we checked out early the next day and caught our shuttle for our trip the next day. I have booked another stay in July for an upcoming trip, which is to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and we will be travelling to Fiji early the next day. I am now considering cancelling my booking and seeking alternative accommodation close to airport for our trips in view of my experience as I have planned the trip to surprise my husband for our anniversary and I really didn't want to have any unpleasant hitches before the flight the next morning. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent my feelings, i was prompted to do so by the personalise note in the emial, that thanked the reader for not being that person that deletes the surver ( or words similar to that ) however, I really felt that the friendly mercure service was lacking and a special holiday vacation did get off on a unpleasant experience which was totally unwarranted. Reception staff should always be friendly and greet each guest as a friend. That is what I do when people come into our venue, everyone that comes in I make eye contact with and greet them genuinely and welcome them. Thank you Maria V.

Everything from arranging an early check-in the day prior, to arrival, seamless check-in to in-room quality, breakfast and check-out was easy, and enjoyable. The staff were professional at every encounter. Just sit back, the Mercure staff will look after you!

Hotel is in a perfect location near the airport but not too close & an easy commute to my work. Room was clean, well serviced & hotel staff friendly. Some noise for several hours on one day however this may be related to building construction nearby.

Booked at the last minute and rang to get an airport view room and staff were very accomodating and even remembered me when I arrived 3 hours later! Breakfast was amazing and plenty of variety. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Reception was very easy and helpful. The room was quite good however the air conditioner tended to drop of when it reached the desired temperature but didn't cut back in when the room warmed up again. The restaurant staff were very pleasant at breakfast and the food was really good. The meeting room that I attended was OK but the lights kept dimming and the A/C was not very efficient. The room was nice but not outstanding. Overall it was a pleasant experience
