« Nice hotel, friendly staff »

The stay was mixed for us - we were there 3 nights. Our room was on the 1st floor and faced the main road, so there was a lot of noise - especially when the subway (or was is the airplanes?) were traveling past. This was disappointing. Normal city traffic noise was expected of course. The room was clean. Nice bathroom. Beds were squeaky. Air was stuffy/borderline too hot in the loft set up which made it uncomfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was helpful. Location ok.

« Below expectations but with potential »

We expected luxury and near perfection, but there was something missing. Everything was a little off. Reception on arrival was lukewarm, although they did give us a nice upgrade given my platinum status; the breakfast was the same every day, no variety, and the bread often from the day before; suite was spacious, but we heard all of the noise from outside all night in this dodgy neighborhood, and the beds were not the usual Sofitel quality.

« Some hotels just don't get the need for stable wifi and reliabilty of it. »

We enjoy staying at the Accor group of hotels. This time we upgraded ourselves to a suite. Upon arriving at the hotel we attempted to connect to the wifi service.3 hours later and 3 calls to reception and one visit by a technical staff member we were no better off with the wifi functionality. Upon arrival we were connected but only had the one bar on the wifi service for the entirety of our stay. Whether you stay in suites or standard rooms, wifi at any hotel need to be reliant and have a strong signal. All other service and amenities at the hotel were up to standard therefore the average rating has been arrived at. Otherwise the rating would have been poor.

The hotel is very nice, however the room was very hot and the A/C would not come on and cool the room, I spoke to the front desk about it and they said they were sending someone to the room, still nothing changed. It was so hot I had to open the doorstop the outside but was kept up all night by the noise. I would have left the hotel and gone somewhere else but had already been charged for the room and was told it was non refundable. I always stay at Marriott's or Hilton but tried something new this time, but it did not work out.

« Grand hotel with friendly staff surrounded by typical Naples street life! »

Getting to and from the hotel gives you the authentic Napolean experience. We loved it! The hotel it's self is a sea of tranquility amidst the turmoil. Just a 15 minute walk from the Archeological Museum.

« Beautiful building and great service »

Lovely place to stay with great staff and wonderful restaurant and bar. Rooms very comfortable and clean. When I made a suggestion to reception it was acted upon immediately. Nicely placed for easy access to city centre and train station.

« Good quality accommodation in an historical building »

Very kind staff, nice building, nice patio, nice room (good soundproof windows), confortable bed. The location is not great, but not too bad either. The bathroom was also not up the same standards as the rest of the hotel.

Positive points: nice historical building, very kind and professional staff, special attentions for LeClubAccorHotels members, lift to reach rooms directly from patio, very clean. Negative points: breakfast too expensive (if not included in your room rate), very big hotel, bathroom not really up to the same high standards as the rest of the hotel.

« Quirky room in a beautiful building with excellent front desk staff in a very special city which I love »

I did come to get away from it all, work on my book, visit sites I didn't see before. Did eat in the restaurant a couple of times. Started to sleep better. Breakfast in my room was great. Nothing was said about the spa, which I could use after I twisted my ankle and I knew about the welcome drink the last evening, when I wasnt feeling Well. But everyone was very friendly.. It was my second time and ill return when I'm able too. I even enjoyed the pouring rain. Please transfer my compliments to the staff.

« three days in Naples »

Excellent hotel but the area where it is located is far from being agreeable, particularly at night. No dining place nearby. This type of hotel is expected to have coffee making facility in the room, particularly in Italy!

I went on a one week trip to Italy visiting different cities and stayed at six hotels including this hotel. I used my personal credit card to book and paid all the dues before cancelling the card and going on the trip with a new credit card. None of the five hotels I stayed at asked to see the credit card one of which is also part of the Accor hotels group. At this hotel, the staff insisted on seeing the credit card otherwise they will cancel my reservation and make a new reservation. The card was obviously not with me because it was cancelled, and I explained repeatedly that it is my card and that it had my name on it. After a long discussion, I managed to sort out the situation by providing an image of the card where I had to call someone at home to send an image of it to me. As a gesture, I was upgraded to a junior suite which I appreciated at first. After going to the room, I was shocked and surprised and disgusted with the amount of hair that I found in the room. There was hair on the floor, on the desks, on the pillows, and the bulk in the bathroom which were of all types long or short you name it. It is either the room was not cleaned properly after the previous guest or the housekeepers are very hairy and drop a lot of hair while cleaning or maybe even both! The smell of detergents was too strong and did not go away. The air conditioner in the bed room was very noisy. I had dinner at the hotel and ordered the roasted rosemary potatoes for starters, and those were definitely re-heated and not prepared upon ordering. The breakfast scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes also had the same re-heated taste which is very unpleasant. I wanted change for 10 euros, so I went to the reception and asked if it is possible to have the change, and the reception employee who I believe was called Alessio (he had a full beard) simply said "NO". There are simple manners to follow when communicating with guests and an answer like that is just not acceptable, and I am sure you would know better how to answer that request if the change was not available. The credit card issue surfaced again upon checkout for an unknown reason...

« Nice Hotel in difficult location »

I've asked for a possible upgrade as this was our honeymoon. Once I did it a few weeks before arrival and once, a day before arrival. In both cases I received a very unpersonal email without adressing me by name and without signing by name. Content was more or less 'upgrades are subject to availability on arrival'. I can certainly live with that info, but for a hotel of this class I would expect it more nicely worded and to be adressed by name. Check-in was very friendly (Serena) and the Concierge offered helfpul tips (Alessandro?). Upon explaining that we are on our first trip after getting married, Serena tried to upgrade us for the remaining nights and we got lucky. Thanks for that. The whirlpool on the outside terrace was great and staff at the gym and cleaning personnel were all friendly. We didn't try the breakfast. Hotel is quite nice but the surrounding streets are a bit dodgy. I don't think that women feel comfortable walking them in the dark. One of the evenings there was a show in the atrium. the soudncheck was quite loud, but manageable. Still it would have been nice to be made aware of that somehow. Overall a slightly above average experience. Great staff, though!

« Very update hotel with smelly room »

I was very disappointed about that hotel. My room was in very bad condition. The ventilation in the bath room didn't work and made a very unconformable smell. The decoration of the room was poor and cold. Walls were converted with staines. That is not what I was expecting about this hotel. I had stay few times in Mgallery other cities and that one is not in the the same standard.

« Disappointment »

The neighborhood looks less than desirable. The room and bathroom were not anywhere near the standard of the posted photos. The reception staff are mediocre at best. The rain leaked into my room and all they did was put towels on the floor. There wasn't an apology or a small offering to acknowledgment for the fact the facility was in disrepair. I've never received such poor service at a hotel (and I travel every week for work or pleasure). Additionally, I could hear people in the next room at night out on our adjoining balcony with their friends. The balconies are not separated by a wall, nor is there any other soundproofing, but rather a metal railing awkwardly cuts across balcony "real estate" to separate each room's balcony from another's. The hotel location was also far from most attractions a visitor to Naples wants to experience. To be fair and balanced, the positives included the bell boy staff, who were pleasant and polite; the courtyard seating area; and breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise - it was really good in terms of choices and quality and the breakfast staff were very sweet.

« A nice place in a good location »

We stayed 3 nights at Palazzo Caracciolo and everything from room to staff and common areas were perfect. A lovely patio where we had a good breakfast and is also available for dinner. Quite and nice environment, far from big hotels. Don't expect pools, crowded bars or anything else you can find in bigger hotels. Just a relaxing and enjoying experience.

« A very good hotel shame about the surroundings »

We were checked in very quickly and issues with the number of persons booked to stay was resolved without any fuss. The room was duplex which was nota problem but we found the corridors too be very narrow especially when passing other guests and workers. We found the breakfast was efficient but limited, the restaurant men was also very limited and hence no meals were taken at the hotel. Overall it was very convenient for the airport and railway station.

« Bed bugs »

The hotel was nice but the on last day we noticed bites all over our skin. Once we returned home doctor confirmed that it was bed bugs and we've now had to throw away all of our bedding and clothes which has cost us a ton of money.
