« Great room but not that great staff »

The room was great: spacious, comfortable quiet and clean. It was ready when I arrived and my request my granted. Room service food is fine. The only negative was the staff who seemed completely unconcerned to the point of rudeness, bordering on disdain. All of them. When I checked out, although the reception desk was empty, the receptionist did not even ask if I enjoyed my 2 days stay. She took the money, said an indifferent bye and that was it. Very cold. I did not gave them a tip. For this reason, I will not book a room there anymore, because for that price I would have expected a better attitude from the staff.

« Completed my sofitel expectation »

It was very nice hotel and the staffs were very friendly and helpful. I had also extremely surprise from a front office staff. She noted my initial name as Khun which only Thai people knows. That's small thoughtful from that staff made me keep talking about this hotel. Furthermore the thoughtful from concierge about the choice of restaurants that still open in Christmas' eve. Well, the total pictures was very impressed and professional.

The experience at the Sofitel begins with wonderful front desk and lobby staff and continues right up to the top floor dining room staff. Each person who works there is well trained, super helpful and kind. The beds in the room are the best I had slept in, in all of Europe. I couldn't ask for more in a hotel.

« Wonderful birthday weekend »

We had a wonderful time in Luxembourg and staying at the hotel. We had a lovely welcome, we got upgraded and everything I arranged previously went smoothly and perfectly. The room was spacious, clean and very comfy. The staff was very helpful and nice throughout the whole stay, especially Perrine. She was a star from start to finish. The hotel bar has the most beautiful view on the 8th floor.

I have stayed at the Sofitel a few times now and it is my preferred hotel in Luxembourg having stayed at a few different ones to date. The staff are very professional and helpful. In my recent trip I had to change room and have now found my preferred room #9 within the building. Overall very enjoyable stay, food was great and service as expected.

A comfortable stay enriched by the attention of welcoming and competent staff. The hotel is showing its age in a few areas and finishes don't necessarily relate well to 2018. A minibar option that was paid for in advance never materialised and when questioned the staff acknowledged that this question comes up regularly but no one seems to know what the minibar option was. Overall a very positive experience.

« Loud stay, disrupted sleep »

The hotel was nice, but there seems to have been construction near the room, as all night long there were loud, mechanical noises that kept me awake. When I complained to the front desk in the morning, the clerk didn't do anything other than offer to put a note on my file saying I'd like a quiet room next time. Doesn't everyone like a quiet room?

I do not have an explanation for it as we are not undergoing construction works at the moment, neither are our rooms located near any engineering rooms. « The Sofitel welcomed me and my wife with open arms. »

We enjoyed our stay. Cesar was especially helpful in booking our various dinner reservations and arranging transportation into Germany and back one night. Only negative was after we checked out, our flights were cancelled, and we had to check back in for one last night. The room we received for our final night had an unpleasant smell that seemed to permeate the entire room. My wife said it smelled like dirty diapers. We called and let the front desk know but apparently whatever they did was not sufficient. It was room 307.

The stay was disappointing on this occasion due to a combination of issues 1. There was no access to the bar on a very wet evening. Advising us on arrival that the bar is off limits and no alternative available is not good. 2. Room 211 adjacent to the gym does not have enough sound insulation, I was woken up very early with someone running on a treadmill next door which was very annoying.

We are very self conscious being non-French and non-German speakers. Regardless, all of the staff - the desk help, the bartenders, the restaurant waitstaff were very kind, friendly, and very helpful. The hotel itself was very clean and nice. All of this helped make our stay in Luxembourg almost magical.
