« No housekeeping service and awful drainage smell »

Hotel advertised parking, but had to pay for parking in a different facilities than the Ibis, although they gave 20% discount towards the cost. During the two nights stay, we had no room service, no replacement towels and the smell of drainage from the sink was horrible. The shampoo/shower gel is utterly useless and not appropriate for showering. Also, is it normal not to have any hand towels? The breakfast was ok, the room was quiet. We were given two welcome drink vouchers, we could only spend them on cider/beer as we discovered later so decided not to as we aren't beer drinkers. No exclusions were disclosed at check-in.

I've used this hotel several times to visit ex-colleagues in Bristol.Its an excellent location, the staff are friendly, my room was upgraded this time (thanks Ibis), the property is generally clean and tidy - ideal for a one night stay as the pricing is usually competitive.On the pricing, unless you have a better deal elsewhere, join the Accor members - it normally gets you a 5% discount.My only minor quibble is with the breakfast - I arrived at the buffet at 9:20am and unfortunately the majority of the hot items were cold - pity, I was looking forward to it.

« Lovely welcome, great location and breakfast shame about the squeaky bed »

We felt very welcome, staff were really helpful. The room was pleasant and the shower was great. But the bed was not as comfortable as the Ibis beds in Paris and it squeaked everytime we moved even a tiny bit so it actually made it hard to sleep. Breakfast was really lovely and overall the trip was great value.

« Awful Night’s Sleep »

I asked for a quiet room when I booked and instead got a room on the second floor close to the lifts...it wasn’t quiet. I’m not sure who thought running up and down the corridor of the third floor at 1.30 in the morning was a great idea but for anyone wanting to sleep on the floor below, it was really annoying. Ditto the large group of ladies who got in just after midnight to the second floor and spent the next hour going in and out of each other’s rooms and chatting in the corridor...it’s wasnt good. The room itself was looking pretty tired and the heating was not working well. None of that helped! There’s a lot of choice in Bristol. I probably won’t stay here again.

Great friendly staff - only issue was key cards that repeatedly didn't work. This was frustrating, having to traipse backwards and forth to reception several times. This happened at my last stay a few months ago. Is clearly a know problem as I was issued with two key cards

Restaurant was not very inviting, felt closed and the menu was very limited. Towels on the cheap side. Overall, didn't feel terribly worth the price, more like a Premier Inn. HOWEVER, the staff were lovely, the rooms were very clean and comfortable plus the location is superb.

« Great staff & neat facilities »

Overall a great experience at Ibis. Check in was really smooth, friendly lady and she gave us all the information we needed. Room was in good state, clean and everything working well. We had breakfast both days, first day it was a little bit old.. dry eggs and sausage was not too much appealing, but the second day it was spotless. A lovely Blond lady took care of us upon departure ( sorry did not pay attention to the name as we were chatting) and we felt recognized and welcome. Thank you to the whole team

I stay at the hotel 3 or 4 days a month. Overall I enjoy it but my room (212) was tired with yellowing bedsheets, only half the bulbs working etc I ended up being unwell and did not want the hassle of moving otherwise I would have complained.
