On the plus side - the hotel itself is in a great location, check in process is quick, simple and very customer focussed, breakfast has a great range of products that are regularly replenished. The room is a reasonable size and the bathroom pod is functional with the added bonus of all over body wash in both the shower and at the sink. On the negative side the room was unbearably hot as the air conditioning was poor, the bed and pillows in our opinion were too hard and did not make for a great nights sleep.

Check in was poorly organised with staff running all around the place. Sleep was interrupted by mechanical equipment running all night long just outside of the window No hot water in the morning to shave / shower - hardly an apology from the staff - a reluctant 20% discount given but most chains would simply have refunded the nights charge.

My stay at Ibis hotel was just what I expected. It is one of the cheapest hotels in the heart of Bristol. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean in the areas that matter (bed, sheets, floor, shower, sink, toilet). There is some dust and some stains here and there but overall it is clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. The room temperature regulator is a bit off. I had it set at the same temperature all the time but the room would feel warmer/colder at times, so not sure it is very accurate. The soap/shower gel is very basic so if you stay for many days and you are fussy, you may want your own shampoo/soap. I did not pay for breakfast except for one morning; the breakfast buffet was ok but nothing special. For the same price I would do a quick search online and find a brunch place elsewhere. If you are in a hurry though, like I was, you can have the breakfast there. The location is perfect; it is right by the Millennium square, which has restaurants, cafes and events. There is a Tesco express just behind the hotel. And the walk to the city centre or a bus stop to take you to Clifton, Temple Meads station or the mall is only 5 minutes. I would choose Ibis again for a cheap, easy stay.

« We weren't in the hotel for long but it was pleasant and easy to check out with fast checkout service »

The only little problem was the receptionist wasn't sure what to do as I'd ready booked in on line so it took longer than it should have done and also the bar staff had a problem with understanding what we wanted and then gave me the wrong drink.

Overall stay was pleasant for a fair price. Rooms were clean an tidy. Small bathroom which was disappointing and not much space between the beds in a twin room. Would have been more comfortable with some more space between the beds. If it's a twin room that's booked it's quite possibly because you don't wish to share the same breathing space to sleep in with the other party member. No bins in the room only 1 in the bathroom so we left some rubbish together with used teabags etc but only half the rubbish removed. No big problem more an annoyance that it was left behind. It would have been nice to see a bit more on the tea and coffee tray. Breakfast was ok, pretty good variety and for price and location would consider staying again but maybe only as a couple. Couldn't fault any of the staff.

We were met at reception by two lovely, and helpful receptionists, who checked us in very speedily. Our room was lovely and clean with everything we needed for our short stay. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and piping hot.
