« Enjoyable Trip »

Very pleasant and helpful staff - especially over such a busy Marathon weekend. Their useful advice made a big difference to the enjoyment of our weekend. The breakfast is well worth the money. Good quality food, served hot; with delicious coffee included.

« Ruined by a few rude members of staff »

Stayed for two nights for the Bristol half marathon. Great guy on reception, very friendly and helpful. One of my friends mentioned to staff that she had brought her own breakfast and was told that was fine. On the second morning a member of staff questioned her and said she needed to pay for breakfast. She explained that she had brought her own (bagels) so he said she needed to pay for the coffee and for using the hotel's facilities!! How petty. Also on the morning of the half marathon staff rudely told us we couldn't use the toilet next to the breakfast area. We said we were guests to which they said 'really?' How rude! We were then told that the toilets were blocked and to go and use the bathroom in our room. A blatant lie in my opinion. We only used the Ibis because it was right next to the start line of the half marathon. We certainly won't be staying again thanks to the petty and rude attitude of some staff members.

« Excellent location and good comfortable hotel »

It is in the heart of Harbourside and hat was great for getting the most of my weekend seeing family and friends in Bristol. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The room temperature was hard to get right however and it is rather noisy for people not used to very urban accommodation. It is surrounded by clubs and restaurants and it is also a good base for birthday and hen/stag parties. Veronica at reception was amazing! She does personalised customer service really well. Thanks!

« Great stay a well located hotel »

The hotel was very clean and had all the amenities that I required during my stay. It is located right on millennium square so was only a 5 min walk from my conference at the City Hall. The bed was cosy and comfortable, and I even found myself snoozing my alarm by accident as it was so comfy.

Everything was ok, except for the breakfast. The cooked items were overdone, so I left most of my breakfast.

« Embarresed by cleaners walking in on me naked »

The hotel was lovely, but my late check out wasn't registered though I paid for it, 12 pm came and I was in bed and pretty much naked, and in walked the cleaner who abruptly interfered the whole scene asking me when I was leaving to find a very angry me pretty much having to state we had late check out even though my door had the do not disturb sign on it. I haven't shaken with anger in a long time, but I threw on my coat and not much else, no shoes, and marched down to reception with my reservation details and asked what the hell was going on! The reeceptionist was most apologetic and refunded my late check out and gave me and my partner free coffee, but for a relaxing morning that I didn't want to be disturbed, it ended up with me having a complete melt down and so much for the romance! The cleaners have to do their job but that was really invasive and rude. Also being startled to death by the loudest fire alarm check at 12pm scared me to death, we had no warning and made me jump out of bed having a panic attack I had to grab my things and vacate the room as there was a fire. I was told in the hall by the cleaners not to worry it was just a check but it would have been nice to be told at check in that the hotel run alarms at this time instead of causing stress and panic! The room was nice, and the hotel was lovely and I'd probably choose to stay there again when they sort out proper house keeping etiquette. I don't feel that happy at all about that, and being seen in bed naked by a stranger is to be honest... no fun. Embarrassing. I hope you understand my rating and I don't expect to get a response to this as no one really gives a damn about customers any more. I'm just another unhappy customer in a queue of emails in someones work stream that they need to get rid of to reach service in what ever call center you work for. :(

« room and bathroom clean, efficient friendly and polite staff, well-varied breakfast and great so well cicoffee »

had an excellent stay at this hotel in upbeat harbour area of Bristol within walking distance to the Old Vick and SS Great Britain (ferry takes cyclists and pedestrians over every 10 minutes). Clean room and bathroom, polite and friendly staff, delicious and varied breakfast with great coffee. All good!

« Worst value for money ever! »

First time in an Ibis and whilst I appreciate they operate at the cheap and cheerful end of the market I'd have to say that £125+ per night is not cheap for no iron, no ironing board, no facilities bar tea or coffee, no room service etc. Operate like this if you wish, but consider capping your room rates no matter how in demand rooms are!!!

The staff were helpful but the amenities and food were lacking. In particular you have a member of staff at the front desk called Danny. He was very helpful during my stay and would convince me to stay again just for him.

« Ok but a few niggles »

Check-in was confusing - it was not obvious where the check-in desk was as it was just a table with some people standing around (looking like they were having a meeting). Check-in experience was fine apart from that. The person that helped me was very friendly. Was given an accessible room (didn't need one but that was fine). Bed was fine. Was annoying that there were no plug sockets next to the beds - had to use one by the desk. Speaking to a colleague staying in a standard room, I think this was due to additional accessible features needed next to the beds (which I am sure are appreciated by guests that require them) but it would be good to also add the plugs! If a guest requires an accessible room, I am sure they won't want to get out of bed to reach their phone (as most people tend to need to charge them overnight). Room curtains looked very dirty, and weren't really big enough for the window so light was coming in all night. TV remote was very dirty, but TV worked fine. TV guide didn't provide much info as to what was on (most of it was blank!). Room was quite noisy due to people walking up and down corridor. In most hotels, the bathroom is at the front of the room (nearest corridor) which helps reduce noise. I wonder if it was just because I was in an accessible room that my room layout had the bathroom at the back? Bathroom was fine - a good size (probably because it was accessible). Would be good if there was a shelf in the shower area, as there was no where to put my shampoo etc. Toilet flush severely impacted on the shower temperature which is a hazard. I think this needs to be reviewed as it could be dangerous to a disabled person if they can't move out the way of the shower (or perhaps have reduced sensation so couldn't tell the change of temperature). Appreciate that your linens are not bleached, and the towels were nice and soft. I added on breakfast, which I thought was a reasonable rate (often hotel breakfasts can be £10+), and there was a lot of choice of food. The dining area seemed a bit cramped but was fine. Getting the car park ticket validated for discount was great, and check-out in the morning was very easy and quick. Didn't use the key drop as I was getting ticket validated, but would have done otherwise. Overall, was fine, and would stay again, but would request a standard room!

« Bristol Ibis »

Hotel very near the multi storey car park. The welcome at the hotel was exceptional. We were given all the information we needed for our stay and given our vouchers for a free drink without having to ask. Extra towels handed out within minutes. The breakfast was one of the best ever had at an Ibis, even those in France.
