I've been in this hotel in 2015. This time, the personnel was friendly and competent and I had an overall good experience. The rooms could improve a little, they're too noisy. Some investment in sound isolation would come in handy.

The worst hotels in Rio have WiFi. Your to cheap to pay for it. How disquesting. I will never stay here again.

« Amazing reception at front desk »

The the attendent that has done our check in was amazing. We arrived at a quite time and she made my 5 year old daughter feel reallly confortable, she even asked her to sign a fake contract for our stay and my daughter felt she was doing something really important. Attendant also offered another bed, which was great as did not ask for that, for sure another plus. While we were checking in, someone was preparing that extra bed. Front desk area looks fine, it looks like maintenance is being kept and décor is being updated. We get the same feeling in the room, quite although se were in the first floor. Room and linen were all clean, no weird smells either. Elevator seemed to be tired and old, showing that some maintenance in this part is required. I had no chance to use restaurant, did not had breakfast either, so I cannot comment on this part.

« Noisy and not very clean »

I was first put in a room next to the fire exit and there were construction work being done on the stairs. I then requested to change rooms, and moved to a quiet room, however, both rooms were not very clean, there was mold in my bathroom and bathroom tiles were dirty. It did not even make a difference that I was able to check in early complimentary with the noise and dirt.

Recepcion and restaurant staff not too proactive and friendly, but I think it is because of lack of language skills and it sems to be common in other turist places like bars or restauramts

The hotel staff is very nice and kind. The room was good. The TV channels almost didn't work at all. The food had little options for vegetarians, and none for vegans.

...this hotel has All the basic needs that a usual travel needs. Courteous personnel at the desk and cafeteria. Clean rooms. Accessible to subway/Carioca etc. I’ve stayed in this hotel more than 4x. Reasonable price too.

« Great value for the rate »

This is a budget hotel, with a superb staff providing great customer service. My room was comfortable and clean, had good WiFi and work space. The food in the hotel is reaonably good for vegetarians; the buffet consisted of comfort foods (rice, beans, salads, veggies, legumes, soup) with meat and fish to order. The location is very good, in a quieter part of the city center but walkable distance to good restaurants and theaters. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. Everyone from all levels was friendly and welcoming and made me feel at home. I'll stay there again on my next trip.

Hotel was standard Ibis but Wi-fi on second day was awful, almost unuseable. Also, did not like plastic cups instead of real glasses.
