« The front desk staff are helpful »

The hotel is in downtown, so we have to return to hotel before dark so as to avoid robbery. The room is clean but there is no kettle. We asked for it but the front desk staff told us that they did not have one and asked us to take hotel water from the hotel's bar or restaurant. It's very inconvenience actually. Overall, the front desk staff are very helpful to answer our questions. Sorry that I forgot one lady's name who is the most helpful staff. She is slim and on day shift during my stay. Thanks all the front desk staff

« Well located. Staff in the restaurant and reception were very patient and helpful making sure we were happy. Exceptional as we only spoke English. »

A basic formula of simple accommodation that works well. Hotel joined in with the Carnivale experience. Staff appeared to enjoy their work. Well done

One of the best places of the Rio de Janeiro, great location and transports to all the city. Very good price, cleanliness, treatment and services. But the maximum capacity of the rooms is for 3 people.

Great costumer service from all the staff. Andressa from the reception and bar team also, both have been great offering a very good standards. Rafael from the reception as well, always smiling and was great helpful. I was at the room 275 and I don't remember the cleaner lady who was cleaning my room, but she was fantastic. I have requested to have my room cleaned before the time and she cleaned it very fast and efficient. I had a very very very good time and the team was unbelievable good, thanks to the manager as they might be doing a good job, as the staff appeared and looked very satisfied. Thank you so much.

Extremely satisfied with my experience in Ibis Rio de Janeiro. The hotel is located in city centre right beside Tiradentes square which was convenient to the meetings I need to attend in city centre. Public transport easy to get as there is a VLT stop right next to it and always easy to get taxis in front of the hotel. Room was clean, Ibis standard, bed comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly.

It was an average accomodation. There were 3 spiders in the room, nothing that I would die, but wasn't pleasant. Sheets were a little too used (maybe wasn't changed after the previous guest). Dinner and breakfast was great.

Room was clean, but the housekeeping happened too late (3 pm); breakfast was not so good as the others Ibis hotels. Besides, there was no enough room and enough food considering the number of guests...

My stay was not as enjoyable as the first time. Early check in was a problem despite advance notification, the lock on my room door was faulty, the room key needed to be reprogrammed every day, there was a barking dog in the adjacent room and the hotel once AGAIN tried to charge me for breakfast even though it is included in my corporate room rate. Now that I have returned home, I see that the IBIS have charged my personal credit card for the cost of the room, even though the room was paid for in advance by my employer. I have to conclude that the 'pre-authorisation' transaction has been dishonestly processed as a duplicate room payment which demonstrates that staff don't really know what they are doing and that 'pre-authorisation' is being misused by some Accor hotels. I can only assume that Management are intentionally letting this happen or encouraging it because it is not the first time it has happened.

« Good place to stay in Rio »

The Ibis Hotel has everything you need at the heart of Downtown Rio. Do not hesitate in staying there, if you are looking to a cheap and clean accommodation. AS I have the Accor Platinum Status, we could stay up to 3pm the day we were leaving, as well as we had a welcome drink offered by the hotel.

The list of your FOOD Menu must also translate into ENGLISH language so every FOREIGNER can at least understand whats in it and your staff should learn how to speak and read ENGLISH thats the only hard things ive experience from your HOTEL IBIS other than that i have no problem at all...also i want to thank your HouseKeeper she was very very good at cleaning my Room everyday. thats all i can say...OBRIGADO!!!!!
