This hotel is a historic building showing signs of its age. The meals were disappointing. The staff and service was friendly and welcoming. We had to turn off the air conditioning at night due to a noisy bearing. In the day we just turned up the TV. The room was clean but the decor is tired. The bathroom door was noisy and served to waken the sleeping partner when opened or closed.

Great comfy overnight stay with everything we needed. We were a little disappointed in the quality of the buffet breakfast. Scrambled eggs were runny and looks like it was made on powdered egg. Lot of the buffet was not replenished and it did not appear to be very fresh. I wouldn’t have breakfast as part of my stay next time.

The room was pleasant, clean and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. The heritage feel and gardens were good. Car park view and extra charge were a bit disappointing. We would have preferred to eat in the dining room rather than the pub area but the food was pretty good. A pity the bottle shop is closing. I would stay here again.

Charming surrounding and friendly staff & well located...... but do yourself a favour, ask for a room that does not have a connecting room door - We could hear every conversation and TV noise next door and 'snoring" all night. I was lucky I had head phones & music. I struggle to believe after all this time that they can't put an insulation blanket in between the doors when not in use?

Check in was easy, as was check out. Fantastic location, with easy access (within walking distance) of Canberra city centre. Dining options were varied and food was good (not great). The room itself was spacious, well appointed, clean and relatively modern.

From service at Check in to Check out, front counter staff, cleaners, bar & waiting staff were excellent. The room was extremely comfortable, clean with the bonus of a couple of glasses of wine on the balcony. Function room size & set up of tables was very good with nice meals & coffee facilities.

This hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes walk from the CBD but outside the business district, making for a good quiet location. Walks,runs around Mt Ainsley are on your doorstep. Restaurant offers good food. Coffee cart in the driveway to appease hunger for decent coffee, or walk five minutes to a choice of cafes. Rooms are large and well equipped. Good beds.

From check in to check out we had a great time. a bit disappointed that the dining room wasn''t open during our stay but still enjoyed our meals in Olims Bistro. We enjoy the peace and quiet in this hotel so much, away from the rat race!. Breakfast has improved a lot since out last visit too. Loved being able to order eggs the way we liked them. Omelette was nice too. We left a pair of reading glasses in our room on check out and the housekeeping staff found them and they will now be delivered to us at home. Great service.

I thought taking veterans 95 years old who were unable to walk far we were placed at the back near the car park and it was so difficult to get them to breakfast etc. When we attended breakfast I tried to make the residents a coffee and there was no milk I alerted the staff and they replaced the milk then it was out of beans I found staff and let them know. I tried again for the 3rd time and something needed to be emptied I found staff again I ended up purchasing coffee from outside really disappointed.
