We both have mobility issues, so ground floor close to car park was welcomed. Room was clean and well prepared for us. Breakfast was good for us, coffee machine worked well. We have stayed a few times, this was the best of those. We did not dine in house due to our attendance at a function which was only a short drive away. No doubt we will be back. Ron, Penrith

We had a very pleasant stay at the Mercure Canberra during the final days of the Floriade festival...the hotel is in easy walking distance to the Canberra Shopping Centre ,War Memorial and free bus to the festival. The hotel rooms are spacious with all the facilities you need...there is parking on site for a small fee and the staff were very helpfull.

For more than $400 per night, I expected a lot more. For this price I can get a very nice 4-star hotel in other parts of the world. Our room had bad noise insulation. I woke up every morning at 7am when the neighbour started filling up the bath because it was so noisy. The breakfast was below average. No fresh vegetables at all (e.g. no salad, tomatoes, etc), the coffee machines make really bad coffee and the breakfast area just looked messy. Also, the aircon unit was placed just above the bed. How can you sleep comfortably when the cold air goes right on your face and body? We won't be going back to this hotel.

Great location and very friendly helpful staff. Our experience would have improved with better quality coffee at breakfast and in the room (plunger coffee would be great). Thanks to housekeeping who provided a microwave so we could heat up heat bags for my husband whose back was playing up!

Very surprised that we did not have foxtel on our tv. The King Loft Room that we stayed in was ok but appeared sad and dated. At $345/night it was expensive and not great value.

We had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights. Very friendly staff. The buffet breakfast had a nice variety, even some gluten free cereal. It is very conveniently located to visit all the tourist attractions.

Our room was neat and tidy. The air conditioner needed servicing - it was noisy and disturbing. We didn't get towels replaced although this was not a big issue especially with water restrictions. The lighting was very low in the bathroom. Although we appreciated that you provided a magnification mirror. The bathroom door was very creaky and needed oiling on the hinges. Breakfast was ok with reasonable food selection but items like coffee beans that needed replenishing were not noticed by staff - it seems you could do with more hands. Otherwise we quite liked our visit because it was so convenient to Canberra Centre.

* Food was very good at the restaurant. Room service excellent * The cot had no mattress for my baby. I found this unsatisfactory * Tissue boxes were near empty on arrival and ran out during our stay. This was inconvenient with a family including toddler and infant. *The stair carpet to loft were very slippery. We had multiple accidents of slipping. My husband slipped and hurt his neck. I also had a near accident slipping on the stair carpet (coming down). *Ground nice and the room had nice aspect * I felt the room was over priced

2nd time here and it is improving. Have stayed in the loft which is roomy and has little kitchenette. Ordered room service which was great - plenty of food in the continental breakfast and good value.
