« Slightly Dissapointing »

We love the Mercure Sanur and have stayed there many many times. We love the location and the rooms that we have. However on this trip, the 1st room we were in had no hot water, blocked drain in the shower and the shower water was foul smelling and was right outside the restaurant and nearly half of the bathroom vanity was covered in mound spores (disgusting). We were offered a 2nd room which was half the size of our original room, so we declined. The next room was a 2 storey suite, which was lovely or so we thought, then we realised the tv upstairs was not working so after many calls to sort out the problem, the best they could do was run an extension cord from a power point on the other side of the room, then No HOT water again, which wasn’t fixed until the next day. So you can see why we were disappointed with our stay. Another thing the towels and hand towels etc, were thread bare and grey. The pool towels have been changed to beige looking bath towels which are also old and tired and on one occasion smelled like wet washing, so badly that I had to change it. These sorts of service we have not encountered before at the Mercure Sanur. So I think it’s time for an overhaul. On the bright side the Manager refunded 1 nights accommodation and have us a bottle of wine

Although just one night spent in our back home after holidays, I must say it was relaxing and actually what we needed to re-fuel after 2 weeks of intense activities in Indonesia and facing a 24h trip back home. Quiet an peaceful room as requested in our booking and really nice breakfast.

« Hotel in need of major refurbishment »

Very dissatisfied with the quality of the hotel, the hotel is stated as a 4 star but in my opinion, it is more of a 2-star rating. Furniture in bedrooms and bathrooms need replacing as old and tired. Gardens and grounds are well maintained. The bar area does not have air conditioning. I asked to speak to management on 3 separate occasions but was declined and was told that the supervisor would sort the query out. Good points include the brilliant location, close to shops, transport and the beach. I would stay at this hotel again only if they had a refurbishment.

« We enjoyed our stay , room was clean but in need of refurbishment »

Everyone was very friendly at the hotel and the room was cleaned to a good standard. The room was in need of refurbishment, the sink in bathroom was cracked. The wifi was good but had to keep signing in to it.

Knowing that you enjoyed room cleanliness and staff friendliness is truly rewarding. We take note on your concern of room refurbishment, we are continually work on improving the Resort, though until a full Refurbishment occurs, the resort design will be remain the same. Our extensive internal maintenance programs are still carried on and we should have replaced the older mosaic shower tiles which give older impression of the resort. Also we have replaced 30% of the Resorts bedroom flooring. Now we are working on repainting all of our guest room interiors and replace all grouting for rooms that require it. With new cushions and some new outdoor furniture will bring dramatic improvement on our guests experience. Pre-arrival communication with the hotel was good. As a first time traveller to Bali, travelling solo, it was important to me to be able to confirm my airport pick up. The driver (Nengah Widiasa) provided by the hotel was very helpful and friendly. My accommodation was comfortable and all staff were very helpful and friendly. I was even re-allocated a room with a bath after arrival because I had mentioned I would have liked a room with a bath. The pillows were not comfortable to me, they puffed out as if full of air, which made it hard to sink into the bed as my head did not feel supported. I would suggest buying some more pillows that some guests may find to be a more comfortable option. The room (140) was an adjoining room, and it is not at all sound proof. I could hear the guests in the room beside me (141) which if the guests were louder than they were, would have been very annoying. I would suggest that some proper sound proofing be inserted between the two doors to take away the noise of each room). The restaurant food and drinks were very good, and again staff were lovely. The location is wonderful, a beautiful view and having the smaller cafe at the bottom of the property was a great alternative option for guests to enjoy.

« Wish the reservation process could be better. »

Although I still able to check in with 2 rooms, yet the reservation staff told me that the payment had been cancelled in the D-1 before I stay is extremely unforgettable moment. One of the staff who called me insist that she already sent the email to me, I check and recheck even go to the spam folder yet still couldn't find any email from your staff member regarding unsuccessfully payment. The worst is hard to get online with the hotel staff, I'm not sure maybe because the call line is busy, yet I still got mad due to sudden notification which was due in 22 hours prior my check in time. Glad that everything was settled in 5 hours beef check in. I even got upgraded room for 1 room that I booked, thank you so much! Anyway, in another room that I got, (if I'm not mistaken, it was in 2115) it was hard to find any shower for the toilet. Frankly, another room that had been upgraded, there was a shower for toilet use (it's in room number 1115, if I'm not mistaken again). Overall it was good to stay in your Sanur Hotel, the view and room was great, wish you could fix things I've been said above.

« The facilities are great, but the staff are not up to 4 star standard I know. »

1. Airport pick-up time: Fortunately I spotted the mistake from Ms Febi. She mentioned somebody from the Hotel will pick us us at 00:35pm 15 Jun 2018. It was supposed to be 00:35am 16 Jun 2018. I actually have highlighted that we came after midnight, early morning of 16th, yet it was still wrong. After I corrected her, she didn’t apologise or say thank you. Just simply changed the time and date. 2. Arrival at Denpasar Airport was slightly late: when we called (& it was after midnight time, we came with our young child), the Caucasian lady who answered didn’t try to find out or comfort us, instead she said the Hotel thought we needed longer time for customs etc. So obvious she didn’t bother to find out our details. We flew from Jakarta...what customs?? 3. Bicycle rent: we asked the bartender if there’s anyone who could help us in the bicycle rental station. He simply asked us to go look for the staff ourselves. He was so near the station and he wasn’t even busy. He didn’t try to call or get somebody to help. After we walked around and found the staff who’s responsible for the bicycle rent, this staff didn’t even help to find suitable bike for my 8YO son. He just said “That’s all we have”. My son had to search and he found the better one further inside the station! 4. Towel for our son had to be requested for 2 days in a row, and we only stayed for 3 days. 5. Water in the room wasn’t replenished on 2nd day. 6. Floor & bathroom cleanliness in the room can be better. 7. Staff friendliness can be improved, they can be more forthcoming. Few were pretty friendly and helpful but not the majority.

Great resort in a great beach spot. Has everything you need plus more when on holiday. If you love yoga there is a fabulous yoga studio very close to the resort. The local staff were very friendly and incredibly attentive. Breakfast was fantastic and I recommend adding this with your room. Disappointments were that our ‘super king bed’ was actually two single beds pushed together’ and the resort was fully booked so couldn’t move us. We also booked an airport transfer and they never arrived to pick us up. We didn’t get to the resort until close to 1am and had travelled for 18 hours!

« Ok but not worth the money »

I was there to celebrate my anniversary with my girlfriend. I stayed at Hotel Holiday Inn Express and that hotel was sooooo much better and cheaper (eight times cheaper). The main reason was the quality of the rooms and the place. It seemed so old and needed to be refurbished with the least new paint. Secondary the staff knowledge and service level. I had a much better experience at Hotel Holiday Inn Express, the employees seemed more educated, service minded and happy for their work. Positive points - The cleaning staff surprised with a cake - The cleaning staff was happy, skilled and passionate Improvement points - The quality of the rooms and the place. It seemed so old and needed to be refurbished with the least new paint. - Customer service restaurant and reception staff. An example regarding the reception staff: The reception asked me if I was a member and if I have paid due to that I have been communicated with the hotel where they repeatedly welcomed me as a gold member. An example regarding the restaurant: I booked a table and when I came they just placed me without asking about my reservation and repeatedly asked about my room number. If they communicated they would be able to see which room number my table had. Furthermore, they seemed so unattended and indifferent. I had to contact the waiters myself several times. Despite the fact that there were 10 people in a restaurant with capability for approx. 200 people and there were over 8 waiters at work. They all stood talking to each other.

Once again we had an incredible 2 weeks at the hotel,the staff,from the GM David to our room attendant Sunarmi are the most welcoming in Bali.Attention to customers needs is a priority at the hotel and the staff exceed all expectations.Again thanks to Eka for all her help and to Sukarmi in the restaurant for her beaming smile every morning. We are returning in September.

Asked for a refurbished room, was given an old room with broken floor tiles and dirty. Curtains were filthy. Check in was very slow and we felt it was all too hard for them to check us in.It was very bad. We have stayed at many Mecure Hotels we are La Accor members and this was by far our worst experience.
