« Nice hotel, very friendly staff »

Hotel beautiful and clean, very friendly staff. There is a very fine SPA and GYM area. Diverse and tasty breakfast. Unfortunately the rooms do not have bathrobes, although the hotel has SPA area and the towels have not been changed. I'd love to come back.

« Another Satisfying Novotel Reading Stay »

I've stayed with the Novotel Reading many time and have never been disappointed. The staff is always polite and professional and the rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel location, close to the Reading train station, is a major plus. The breakfast buffer is excellent.

Hotel was fine was disappointed in restaurant as things were left off meals that were on menu. ,eg.no ginger in fruit salad and no chilli on squid. No milk in room for tea and coffe had to go to bar.

« Good to swim, good to rest. »

It was good to be able to swim and to rest, and in just the right place. Supper was a bit of a disappointment, with some of the food undercooked, the service was good, but slow. Having mobility problems makes life difficult and your staff were very good at helping me to cope.

I had a fantastic time staying at Novotel Reading. The staff was very friendly and the superior room was clean with a good size for a family of 4. With Novotel being in the centre of Reading, it was great for night out and shopping. Overall I totally enjoyed my weekend and will definitely stay here again.

During our stay my sister needed to get a taxi to heathrow Airport. Due to the location no taxi's can stop outside so we asked reception where to get the taxi to pick her up. Reception gave her a random postcode. We later realised that they had given her a postcode to the NCP car park, however they did not tell us this. We assumed it was the car park for the hotel. As a foreign guest she was dissorientated as it was, without having to find another random car park in a town she doesnt know. Very poor customer service. No help was offered to make her life easier, it was a complete mess with no solution. She got extremely stressed and as a result we got a family member to drive us instead in their own car, who knew the area a bit better. Customer service appauling, no help provided and sketchy mis-information given. I won't be returning to your hotel.

The general experience was OK but was somewhat marred by the strange attitude of the girl on check who was simply not listening to what I was saying. I had to say and spell my name 4 times before she got it. This was due to her busy chatting to a friend. Room was fine, but I do get dissapointed when one pays for a hotel room that has a swimming pool to find the pool being used for swimming lessons that ristricts use.

« Getting a disabled room is not very pleasant »

It has happened also in the past but then I was at least asked if I am OK with it. This time it was a surprise. An unpleasant one, as it's a room for people with special needs, most things are lower than the standard and also whilst there are rails to help the disabled, it was in my way. That aside the most unpleasant thing was that the TV was set to alarm at 4am. When I let the staff know at checkout, they said that unfortunately there is nothing they can do about it. I disagree, it's not rocket science, when the room is being cleaned it's a 2 minute extra effort to avoid bad surprises like that for the next guest.

« Too noisy, ignored my request »

As always I booked through my company portal and requested a quiet room. However, I was given one at the front of the hotel which was very noisy. The check-in desk told me there were no other rooms available, which I questioned considering I have booed the room about 2 weeks in advance. Breakfast also wasn't busy so I'm sure the hotel wasn't full.
