Friendly staff, clean rooms, awesome breakfast. Bring small face towels with you since they only have large bath towels and foot towels. The rooms are small but sufficient and beds very comfortable. Coffee pot and hair dryer in rooms too.

After staying at the local Premier Inn (Reading) for the previous 4 weeks I decided to try Ibis as it was 5 min walk closer to my workplace and was the same price. Reception was efficient and friendly and I was given a room on the 13th floor. When I arrived at the room the keycard did not work and so my luggage and I had to traipse back to Reception. When I returned to the room the kaycard worked and revealed an unserviced room so, my luggage and I traipsed back to Reception once again. I was re-roomed on 13th floor so returned, the key worked and the room was serviced. I could not find an iron so tried to call Reception only to find no phone. A flyer claimed that phones were "so 1980's". I had to WhatsApp Reception who, to be fair responded immediately to tell me that my clothing and I would need to find the Ironing Room on 7th floor ("how 1980's" I thought !). I finally returned to my room to relax and watch TV only to find the remote faulty. Tired, frustrated and fed up I left the room to eat at a local restaurant. I later returned to the hotel, stayed the night and the next day cancelled the rest of my stay, switching back to Premier Inn. Sorry Ibis, this was one blind date that didn't work out

Bathroom: terrible water pressure in the shower, low quality liquid soap. They only give you liquid soap, but they don't bother to give you a washcloth, only large towels. No tissues anywhere in the room. No mini-fridge. The reception staff is friendly though and the bed was comfortable.

Small room. Tiny window, so that it was never really light in the room. The experience was OK, but I will probably next time aim to find a larger lighter room in central Reading.
