I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Upon early check-in you asked for a deposit of Stg£120 which I gave you. I checked out last Monday around 10am but you have not released the deposit. The car hire company I used also asked for a deposit but it was released within 24 hours of returning the car. Why does it take so long ?

Stayed in room 1414 on 8th January, temperature control was completely non-responsive which left the room freezing cold. When I took a shower the water did not hold its temperature resulting in cold water. I checked out at approx. 05.45 unable to sleep in the cold or warm myself by taking a shower. I am a repeat business user with this hotel and when I reported the issues it was stated the query would be added in the maintenance book and I should have contacted reception who may have been able to provide a heater. I expect that when I book a hotel room, heating in the winter and some hot water shouldn't be my responsibility to arrange.

I like the location of the hotel very much. But one thing I was very upset with was that your cleaning staff entered my room even when I had already left the no disturb sign on my door. Don't think this was very unpleasant?

« Too poor for the price »

No hot water on the first morning. ‘Heater’ above foot through out room temperature air which helped little to warm ups very cold room on both nights. Not only that, it was full of dust and made a loud, continual banging sound when activated. Bed was a divan with a weird separate ‘topper’ with a thin sheet wrapped around it with an extremely thin duvet. Extremely poor.

Freezing cold night. I thought it was a spare blanket on the shelf but it turned out to be 2 pillows. Needed a blanket at 1am.Did not sleep well.

« great stay »

This was a family visit to Reading for a party, I needed 3 rooms all on the same floor. The hotel couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. WE had breakfast the next morning - have to say it was absolutely lovely. My only criticism is I'm not a fan of the tea served at breakfast- I prefer the tea left in the rooms.

On entering the hotel I was a little nervous about how the quality would be. We were booked in by a sullen member of staff just writing down our name (or crossing it off?) on a clip board, no computer in sight. However, the rooms themselves were fine and it served the purpose of somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay.

« Okay but not the best nights sleep. »

The check in was quick and easy but the sleeping experience wasn’t great, the heating was rubbish so the room was freezing and the bed was firm and I could feel a spring in my back the whole night. Also as odd as these might sound the tv remote was dirty and very old school so didn’t fit the feel of the room.

In general very good but the cleaner started hovering the hallway at 8am and battered the walls all the way up and down the corridor. Once she had finish that she then let herself into the room without warning, knocking etc. at the time I was getting into the shower with the door open.... Not sure who was more surprised but she didn't hang about... I has 3 other mates staying in different rooms on the same floor and they said that she did the same to them.. Might want to have a chat with the lady or give her a list of occupied rooms, other than that the rooms were warm, beds clean and comfortable, I was at the rear or the hotel so no traffic noise either... Only downside was that as it was after a works party could have done with a lay in!!

Having previously stayed in your ibis hotel in reading before we had no issues but this time we were supposedly in a ‘new ibis room’ and we weren’t impressed. We had no hot water for the shower and the thermostat for the heating didn’t work
