short but nice, I have been there before and if I have to travel to Munich the Sofitel is usually my first pick, also because it is very conveniently located, coming from Switzerland by train or car. I usually avoid flying into Munich

« Excellent location and beautiful hotel. »

I had a wonderful stay. Rooms are super comfortable. I love the decor in the room, especially the rocking chair. The only slight irritation is the hair dryer - it is one of the worse hair dryer I have used in a top notch hotel. It is heavy, to turn it on, the button needs to be constantly pressed (which is tiring and idiotic), and the air flow is terrible. You should try it for yourself, especially if you need to dry and style your hair.

« Everything is great apart from the bed »

Check-in was quick and smooth Room facilities were good except both twin beds were sunk in and were old. I felt like my whole body sinking into the mattress when I slept on it. Not ideal and therefore did not sleep well. Breakfast was really good and service was excellent compared to many other hotels. Check-out was slower than expected

I stayed 2 nights, my room was viewing interior garden which was very quite and nice to sleep. However the bed was a combined bed and I do not like to sleep at combined beds. All other room was ok, shower, internet, nespresso machine...

« Good room with upgrade and top breakfast but frustrated by no spa »

Spa being shut was frustrating as one of reasons stay at SOFITEL. Can’t wear robe across to Meridian hotel in same way and then access across there was not easy as had to ask multiple times for key card access at front desk waiting a few mins each time. Not what expect when pay premium. Also ongoing dispute over previous stay where had similar experience to above when stay was a treat to my wife and overcharged for room by €75 which still waiting to be resolved

Everything was perfect. Only one issue that ruined our whole experience. We booked a 2 Hour massage. We had to check out but our massage was scheduled after check out so they cancelled it. We went and they had to prepare the room. Our appointment was 3:30. We didn’t start until 4pm. We finished at 5:20. I paid more than 400 euros but got 80 minutes. She tried to convince me the ritual takes time etc. it was very annoying. She was trying hard to convince me that she gave us a 2 Hour massage. I read the ritual which is suppose to be 10 minutes. I still tipped them 70 euros because the massage itself was fine. But I left the whole day feeling like I got ripped off. I still feel upset about it. Everything else was fine about the hotel, more than perfect

The only problem I experienced - and it was a major one - is that one of the staff members had forgotten to stock the coffee / tea service, so he knocked on the door - and then came in without waiting for me to answer! That is completely unacceptable. He had seen me enter the room and I didn't have a hand free to bolt the door locked when I entered. I put my stuff down and was on my way back to the door to lock it when he came in. What if I had started to use the bathroom? Staff should NOT come in the room after just a short knock. That is wrong, that is scary, and that cannot be tolerated. Wait for the response. Women feel especially vulnerable with that type of behavior and I was alone. Not good.

We particularly enjoyed the unusual pool, with its wonderful design, and the concierge service, which was so helpful each day. The room was delightfully comfortable and intelligently laid out and equipped. The one thing that puzzled us was the bathroom lighting in that we never figured out how to see a whole face in full light. The breakfasts were the best we’ve ever experienced.
