The reception upon arrival was rather cool with a sence of indifferenc, however, the staff on duty on the subsequent days were much friendlier and appeared to like their job. The staff on duty on the second morning were much friendlier and inviting. I was invited into the bright and beautiful restaurant where the tables had tablecloths and set with table settings; I was offered a newspaper and were served tea/coffee (my preference); rather than just being told to find a spot in the rather dark pub/bar. In short, what started as a rather unwelcome stay, ended in a pleasant stay.

I can absolutely understand your anger and your dissapointment! I have checked your current LeClub status: at the moment you are a silver member and have 5953 points. Because of all the trouble you had to go through I will give you another 2000 LeClub points on your account. Regarding the beer cellar and the sustainability card I will have to check with my employees. I don't know why they refused to let you in the beer cellar or did not give you another sustainability card. I do hope that you wil give us another chance and visit our Mercure hotel again. I have normally had a good experience at your hotel, but this time it was not as good. Firstly, I went down to the swimming pool which was closed. When I called to the reception the answer was that yeah, it's been closed for a few months and will never open again. Still, the hotel brochure is talking about swimming pool..... Secondly, I had a room with joinin door to another room. Every night, I could hear the other guest snoring very loudly, and then his alarm clock would go off at 5 AM for a long time.... TWICE. Very annoying. In addition, I was expecting to pay the company rate for Outokumpu, but apparently the booking was not done correctly, and I paid higher rate. The only good thing this timewas breakfast, and nice lady offering to make my tea every morning. Kudos to her! Otherwise lots of improvements needed.

A very ordinary stay, 4th or 5th within the last 12 months. No dedicated welcome, no upgrade, no special attention. Food in the restaurant at dinner - a disappointment. After 6 days - still no Accor bonus points for this stay on my account - what is this about? Does anyone care about their jobs???

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the lack of recognision of your LeClub status. The regular LeCub points were credited on the day of your check-out from our side. Unfortunately, bonus points are handled centrally and cannot be credited from the hotel side. We have several Platinum LeClub members staying with us every week. Therefore it is not always possible to give every Platinum member an upgrade to e.g. a suite. We only have 4 suites and since the end of September one suite is rented until the end of October. I am so sorry but is the 1st time that my stay in the hotel is negative ( I have bien more than 25 times). Due to my job I am teaveling wideworld and weekly and I have never seen nothing similar. I was on shock when the staff told me that the lobby bar was closed due to low ocupacy of the hotel. Ir is clear that a hotel is a business for making money but on the other hand you can not lose the respect to the customers and 1 customer is important. Not only we but also the other Mecure Hotel in Krefeld and the Tryp Hotel in Krefeld close F&B outlets. Furthermore, we still serve drinks in our restaurant or in our lobby. Welcomed immediately upon arrival and the check in process was seamless. We appreciated being moved to a non-smoking room. The decor is dated but immaculate and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Even with the windows open our room was overpoweringly warm and we were disturbed by noise outside at 02:00,even though we were on the 6th floor. The pillow provided was uncomfortable and it is difficult to select an appropriate exchange from the description on the pillow menu; it may be an idea to leave various pillows in the wardrobe as I was too embarrassed to contact reception for a third time after they had been so helpful in providing an initial exchange. However, these are small points and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Our experience was first class with the reception staff extremely helpful especially the young lady who found us a kegelbahn for Saturday night within ten minutes at 22.00 on Friday night. It's 10 years since our last stay and when visiting Krefeld in the future would stay here rather than anywhere else.

« Clean tidy hotel with friendly efficient staff »

Two night stay to visit our son who lives in Krefeld. Hotel in quiet grounds in a residential area. Tram close to front entrance means the centre is only 5 minutes away and the central station 7. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly, multilingual and very efficient. Will stay here next time I am in Krefeld
