Great, friendly and helpful staff. Just a down side as there is no direct access with a cab. We had a lot of heavy logistical suitcases. But the staff was amazingly helpful and nice with this.

It's a great hotel and we loved it. We were on the top floor in a room which had the contours of the roof, but other than that it was fine.

« very old fashion and the shower was a nightmare whereas I asked to change it »

very bad for a mercure / they don't propose me another room whereas the shower was broken: 2 days without a real shower is just a nightmare for an hotel mercure !!

« One of our favourite hotels in the world »

We absolutely loved our Biedermeier Suite room, the restaurant in the front of the hotel, the garden for breakfast is fantastic and for the first time we sampled the excellent sauna facility. The only downsides were some minor things: we wanted a late checkout on our final day and was told it would be okay, however when confirming the day before we were not granted this because someone else had booked "the specific room", the beds are a little firm and dont have a pillow topper like the beds in the Sofitel, and the noise of people dragging their wheeled bags over the cobblestones can sometimes wake you up.

The Biedermeier Hotel in Vienna is a hotel I would happily return to again every time I visit Vienna, from the sumptuous schnitzels and Grosser beer in the pub at the front, to the beautiful garden where you can enjoy breakfast in the sun to the relaxing spa area with the sauna this hotel has eveything you could ask for.

« A very pleasant stay, with very good service. »

I loved the hotel - it's very lovely, picturesque even. The room was quite comfortable, clean, and quiet, and it offered everything that I needed. Breakfast was delicious! I would definitely return. Areas for improvement: finding my way to reception initially and to and from my room was occasionally a challenge because of the unique layout of the property. Having a sign with an arrow at each of the doors between the street and the reception entrance might help. Also, having signs directing guests from their rooms to the elevator lobby might help. The staff were all very helpful and efficient. I would not rate them as overly friendly, but I think this might be a cultural difference in terms of the way hotel staff behave in the USA vs. Austria. (My wife, not an American, thinks that in the USA we exhibit a "false friendliness" that is not practiced elsewhere in the world, and she may be right.) Many thanks for a great visit.

« Could be better »

On last day i found my room open, widly open door, electricity card inside, no person inside... even after 20 minutes waiting nobody came, i called the reception but they didn’t care much as well. Also minibar was not refilled on last day, bringing to conclusion that personal doesn’t care enough for the number of stars and price of the room. According to treatment i got i would rate the hotel as 2 stars

Very cold in the room. Limited possibility to switch off the air conditioning locally. The receptionist was very insistent in claiming that when the local device is at '0', the air conditioning doesn't work, but it was blowing ... !

« A Disappointing and unpleasant experienc. »

1)We asked for a room close to the elevator and got the room farthest from the elevator, at the end of the floor. 2)The attitude of the receptionists was unpleasant, and especially that of a secretary named Sarah who spoke coldly and unkindly, did not smile and made us feel unwanted. 3) the bell Boy (an old man whose name we can not remember) opened the door of our room at 6:40 am! Without knocking on the door while we were not dressed! He looked inside suspiciously and when he saw that we were frightened he left quickly.

Lots of old style space as was a full apartment more than hotel room but sloping roof in bathroom a touch tricky. Good position, handy fresh food market nearby. Staff helpful re. taxis etc. Some more info on public transport in foyer would have been useful.
