Friendly staff, good rooms, towels need improvement, breakfast at 16€ is to expensive simpler cafe options should be available not everyone has a big breakfast. View of Porta-Nigra-Platz outstanding, hotel location fantastic

This is my third time at this hotel as it is easily reachable coming down from Belgium, has plenty of parking space in the covered car park, payable of course, but the hotel charge your bill and give you an exit ticket, so one doesn't have to pay at the ticket machine. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the old town where one can find shops, bars and restaurants galore. Service is good and so are the rooms.

We had booked for 3 guests but reception only had 2 on record. They quickly solved the problem and added an extra bed. The room was lovely, large, cleaned comfortable with a great view. We slept well.

I loved the location! Porta Nigra was just across the road, as were the tourist information, museum, and bus stops for the sightseeing busses and the busses to the main train station. Since I was in Trier during a heat wave, I loved that the air condition was working very well and appreciated the shower in the bathroom. No problems with wifi and the desk and chair in the room allowed me to read a lot in the evenings. There were open air concerts on the other side of Porta Nigra and it was nice listening to the music while having a drink at the hotel bar. Tips for other travellers: Museums are closed on Mondays and as a historic building Porta Nigra has lots of stairs but no lift.

Great Mercure hotel from Accor group... we had superior double on 5th floor with view of Porta Nigra - well worth the extra! Very efficient and quiet A/C which was absolutely necessary when the temp was 36deg outside. Nice breakfast but pricey at E16.. Car parking was E13 per night but was right below the hotel and well lit and easy access.

Pre booked and pre paid on Accor website. We had room on 5th floor overlooking the Porta Nigra which was worth the extra - great air conditioning! Excellent breakfast and bar service too... would recommend.

We have stayed here before on short stays. We stayed this time for 6 nights, there is plenty to see and do here! The hotel was very comfortable, staff were excellent and we liked the food and service in the bar so much that we didn’t use the restaurant. The hotel is brilliantly situated for seeing the city, and the views of the Porta Nigra from the rooms were marvellous. All in all a very comfortable, restful, enjoyable and interesting stay.

Hotel overlooking the Porta Nigra was convenient to the town (just across the road) and railway station. The room was a little tired but still good value for money, and the restaurant food was consistently very enjoyable.

The location just across Porta Nigra provide very good view to the monument. It is a pleasure to enjoy the view during breakfast. The staff is very service minded and the rooms are clean and quiet. Internet is very fast also. Good selektion of local wine in the bar.
