It was a good location. The guest room was nice and roomy. The shower was great!. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety.. One drawback was there was at least three large tour groups everyday that we stayed.

Very helpful and informative staff on the front desk at check in. Keen to point out tours and attactions to visit as well as the best way to get around. The barman was also very friendly and chatty, despite seeming to have lots of work on and flying around. The room was comfortable, although in general I do find the rooms in most of the groups hotels to be a little stuffy with poor airflow since there is never functional aircon. Also again with the hotel group, it doesn't matter where I keep my room card, I have to get it reactivated everyday, as did my friend.

The hotel was nice, but the food ithe hotel was not very good. The staff always tried to be accommodating to our request, but seemed to always be overwhelmed...perhaps understaffed? Perhaps needing better training by the management team?

After checking in my friend and I were allocated a room. First of all the key-card to the room didn't work and after going back to reception to sort that I found it had a double bed rather than a twin. I must say the room was lovely. The twin room we eventually got was nowhere near as nice. It was on the 2nd floor and the wi-fi didn't work at all. If you went to reception it did. We also returned late and again the key-card didn't work. There was nobody on reception so we waited several minutes. Getting frustrated we called out to see if someone was in the rear office who hadn't heard us. Eventually the night porter showed up, berating us for being impatient and calling out for someone to help us. His attitude was very arrogant. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

« Ideal stopover place »

The hotel is centrally located in Salzburg, so allows for convinient tour to the city centre. All the services are available and are of great quality. Breakfast was super rich. Excellent service at the reception. Hotel does not have own restaurant but they gladly advice on several options just around the corner so not an issue at all. The only comment is that room soundproofing leaves something to be desired.

The room was well laid out and comfortable, cleaning and maintenance of a high standard. Well located for visiting the city. Only two negatives; we were too early for check in on arrival and the staff were a bit brusque, which was unusual because our contact with desk staff thereafter was pleasant. The second negative was the lack of evening dining, which was only a problem because of bad weather one night, as normally we wouldn't have hit a hotel restaurant for meals, but might have to have stayed dry this time.

The room and its quiet location were just what we wanted. The breakfast was very good but we were disappointed that evening meal was not available. The other hotel was very good on the first night with good service and food. We prepaid the meal on the first night and would liked to have had further nights but lack of being able to charge items to our room was a nuisance. We visited the other hotel on the second without making a reservation and found the restaurant closed with no obvious alternative.

My husband and I were backpacking and were very excited when we got an email that says we can save time and check in online before 10 AM instead of the usual 3 PM. The wording was misleading because we thought we could check in before 10 AM rather than save time for check in at 3 PM. Other than that, the stay was fine.

The AC, WIFi and the landline phone was not working. Most of the time, there would not be anybody at the bar counter to serve you. The people at the reception were not friendly. The snancks menu at the bar was not in English.

I have stayed in many Mercure and all standards of Accor group hotels around the world, but I found this the least welcoming at check-in. My club card membership was not acknowledged, l had to work out where the lifts were to get to my room. I stayed here for 3 nights but had problems with the door entry card everyday. However, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Spacious room and comfy beds. Staff were excellent especially at breakfast where the gentleman that served us was more than excellent! I would definitely come back. Great if you have a car too as car parking is provided for a reasonable price.

« At first it was okay but at the end it was a huge disappointment »

The hotel staffs service are really very bad. My family member accidentally left her blouse and pants in the hotel room after checking out and we tried to find out with the hotel staffs. I sent an email to them and they didn’t even reply me at all and also, my boyfriend called them so many times and ended up they said they can’t find anything. This is really bad.

« Stay was reasonably good but a billing error (still unsettled) has marred our experience. »

We were given a complimentary room upgrade, which was what we thought was a good start to our stay but then we were charged an additional €174/-, which has still not been reversed and settled as on 7/June/2018. It is rather unfortunate that we have had to endure this due to the rather unprofessional and nonchalant attitude of the front desk staff. Now we have to enact the tedious process to follow-up with our credit card issuing company and the hotel to reverse the same. I do hope this gets sorted out as early as possible and that I get a confirmation of cancellation OR a credit note confirming the credit / refund due towards the disputed transaction. Other than that we had a reasonably decent stay and would consider this hotel for when we visit again.

« Great location, good value »

13 minute walk from the train station with our E bags. Once we are in the hotel with there were a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance. There was a McDonald’s that had scrambled eggs and ham along with the standard McDonald’s breakfast fair. The hotel breakfast was €15, a bit steep for usWhen we all 3 ate very well for less than €10 at McDonald’s.

Parking and accomodation were just fine. Minuses: - the terrace was closed - there was an opened bottle of water in the minibar, the only bottle of still water available.
