The Novotel is in a great location in Queenstown but is not being kept well. The carpet in the lift is filthy and not too clean in the corridors either.There are no bedside tables as the 2 double beds take up most of the room.When I mentioned this to the staff they were not interested and had not seen the lift carpet.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel. Service and quality of food were very good. Poor access for disabled persons to reach the restaurant and valet parking which left vehicle outside were matters to note

We recognise the access to our restaurant and while we do our best to help guests using a back of house lift it is less than ideal for our guests that need this. The good news though is that we recognise this and it will be something that we over come when our Owners refurbish the Hotel - in the planning stages at the moment. We want all of our guests to be able to enjoy their stay with us and this is of importance to us. We certainly are looking forward to the refurbishment of the Hotel. The room was neat & tidy Breakfast food was good, however cold coffee, not enough cutlery & poor service. Staff were rude & not accommodating.

It is disappointing to hear that that you felt the staff at breakfast service and the bar were not very friendly ans accommodating. As a business Accor has initiated a program called "Heartist" which engages the teams to genuinely get involved and understand the guest journey. As you have experienced the front desk team has embraced this program and did demonstrate a high level of customers service. We obviously need to revisit these sessions for the Restaurant & bar teams to reignite passion for customer service. Staff and breakfast great. Room noisy- difficult to sleep - extraction running that could not be turned off- rain resulted in continuous dripping sound- drapes still allowed vehicle headlights to illuminate room

Novotel Lakeside Queenstown is a pleasant place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The carpet in the lift could do with a clean. The negative with the rooms was the extremely small bathrooms.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, great location. I do have to pass comment on the fact there was an evacuation at 6 am during our stay. This was poorly managed with no staff guiding guests to the assembly point once outside of the building. Not one staff member was wearing a hi-vis vest to identify themselves. Not one staff member approached the guests to ensure the floors or rooms were cleared. It was a total shambles in regards to guest safety in an emergency. Guests were scattered across the road blocking access to the facility by the fire service. No announcements were made to guests regarding being able to re-enter the building, it was only upon seeing staff re-enter that guests were aware they also could return to their rooms. After the fire dept arrived one staff member put on a high vis-vest and stood with a stop sign to stop further traffic from entering the area. Worksafe would have a field day with the handling of this evacuation as if this had actually been a fire many lives would have been lost as there were still guests in their rooms watching from their windows. Staff surely should have been assigned to ensuring guests were moving quickly to the assembly point and checks against those outside should have been carried out to ensure that all floors had been cleared. It was very disappointing for such a large chain of hotels that staff were not better prepared.

It was not ideal having the evalucation at 5:50 on Sunday morning. The bar lacked entertainment and vibe - very boring place to hang out with the TV being on a cooking channel. Maybe have some music instead. The bar staff were extremely friendly and accommodating with the children and made delicious cocktails.

Great check and service from the reception staff. Fire alarm went off at 550 on the 10/11/19. False alarm. No information or apologies from reception staff on check out. Thought this was very poor. Called reception and concierge from my room at 0650, 0655, 0700, 0705 to asked for my car to be ready for me. No answer on all of these times. Checked out and had to wait for my car to be brought out.

No follow up or apologies or anything after a 6:00am fire alarm getting everyone out in the rain. Massively disappointing.

The duty manager Lucie was extremely rude. Over priced for a dated and dirty room. Complained to Lucie about neighboring room noise and got laughed at and told they are going out soon and because we are only staying one night that it will be fine. I got about 3hours sleep. Not happy.

We do not make decision based on the length of stay as every guest concern should be dealt with in a professional and positive manner. We are in the planning for an extensive refurbishment and have engaged with an Architect which is requiring considerable time in the planning- if you are coming back the way the rooms on the 4th floor are more modern as they were added new a few years ago and may work better for you. Our Housekeeping team take pride in maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms, due to the age of the rooms they may appear to look dirty . I have passed on your feedback to our Housekeeping team . Our week long stay was trouble free and really welcoming. Our first point of contact was Rachel, who checked us in upon our arrival and she continued to greet us, engage with us on a daily basis and assisted us whenever required. She genuinely made us feel welcome. We also spent a bit of time chatting with Ash (male) and Donja at the bar in the atrium. As they served us our drinks, they enquired about what we’d been up to during the day and they made us feel very welcome and comfortable and that nothing was too much trouble. They were both really lovely
