« Very positive »

Overall everything was perfectly fine. The majority of staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Most of them spoke very good or at last conversational English. Only one receptionist (first day and check in) was more likely pretending to speaking English and giving answers which didn’t have much to deal with an asked question. What also did cause confusion in a actual situation. Luckily other girl was much more helpful. Otherwise me, my husband and kids was very happy about our stay and we will gladly stay with you again.

« Management has no respect to clients »

It was embarrassing and demeaning to ask for milk for the coffee and denied. I paid extra for the "VIP" room, with an advertised Nespresso machine, but they would put only two cream pieces per day. So, if I had to use one per cup only if I wanted to have two cups, and bad luck if I wanted to have a third one in the evening. For a person like me who likes to put two pieces of cream in his coffee, I can only have one cup a day. Even if I hadn't paid extra for the room, to have management so mean to deny a client extra milk is the lowest I have seen in my stay in hotels. Novotel got a bad name for putting such a manager in this hotel who protects cheap milk ahead of his guests. Extremely bad and frustrating. Even the shampoo, I had to ask for a replacement after 5 days... no one cares to replace it. It is obvious that management is trying to make cheap profit. I definitely would not stay again in this hotel and would not have any of my staff who visit our office in Tour Montparnasse stay there.

However, if our customers want more milk, it is possible to have some by asking at the reception. What you describe in your comment, that someone refused to give you milk so that you could have your coffee as you do at home, is not normal and usual in our hotel. The hotel is basic but functional. On this occasion, there was only one shampoo and body wash in the bathroom - I had to ask for a hair conditioner to be provided. No bathrobes were provided, and upon asking I was told none were available. One bottle of water in a room for three people (two adults and a child) wasn't really sufficient. In a city of wine, a few wine glasses would have been appreciated. All that was provided were paper cups - not really environmentally sustainable! Communication with the hotel prior to arrival was difficult. I couldn't find an email address for the hotel and then when I did manage to get in touch with someone at the hotel via email they didn't respond to my email.

Had we known in advance that there was no full restaurant and bar facilities, due refurbishment work going on, we would have booked another Novotel. When in Europe and staying in a hotel we always use Novotel and have always had an excellent experience. We stayed at the Eiffel Tower Novotel when were in Paris the last time - we would have gone there. Food - we took room service but menu very limited and not well cooked e.g. gnocchi dry and almost inedible. We couldn’t order what we wanted as they had run out of certain items e.g. no medium pizza. Incomplete order brought up to room. Bathroom finish around shower poor. Due to building work, very limited lobby space, seating and not welcoming.

We have on our menu the "Bocaux du Bistrot", good little traditional dishes cooked and put in pasteurized jars. These are healthy, balanced and authentic recipes, 100% homemade. Overall I had a nice experience at the hotel. The room was well appointed with every convenience I would expect. The only issue I would have is the furniture around the bar area on the first floor. It's garden furniture and was very uncomfortable. I understand the ground floor is being refurbished, so maybe this is temporary.

We arrived really early and dropped off our bags and went out for a tour. Last time we did this we got an early check-in for free and we loved that. We were suprised this time that this was going to be charged 40Euros..even though there was a room available. No problem but it was a negative change between our last stay and this one. We still loved the experience though.

Short, one-night stay ......... in the hotel for less than 15 hours so no opportunity to use many facilities except the room, which was clean and comfortable.
