« Decent budget hotel »

The room was fine, basic but clean and fine for a one night stay. The check in was the biggest problem as I had made a booking for five rooms, when I tried to check in they first said I did not have a booking at all, then, after a lot of checking, they discovered the one booking had been changed to five seperate bookings I had to check in and pay for each one individually, which took a very long time and just seemed a ridiculous way to do things.

This is a lovely hotel. Fabby staff, little bar, kiddies' play area (outside and inside), reading/relaxing area & reductions at nearby restaurants for guests! Hotel is spotless. Rooms have showers/half-baths. Nearest train station is Emerainville Pontault-Combault which is about 12 mins. walk away. Local village is lovely.

« Humiliated and Extremely Hostile Behaviour by the manager at reception (Mr Liester or a name like that) »

I am an international business traveler, Ibis member and have stayed at Ibis many times across Europe and USA. Its a shame this has been a horrible experience. Or should I blame it on French culture. I was given a Old shaby room. Dirty bedsheet and blanket sheet. Toliets were old and tainted. I requested for room change, which was refused and I was asked to check out if I do not choose to stay. Complete hostile attitude. This guy, Mr. Leister or some name like that was shouting and showing angry faces. I asked him to come and check the room. He saw the balnket and justifies that this is budget hotel and its the best you get in Paris ??? I have stayed in this same hotel before and was given better rooms in the new block. No respect for a regular customer and member. I believe checkout time is 12 noon. I was on a business video conference from my laptop in the room. Cleaners started banging the doors and shouting from outside. I told them I would check out by 1pm as due to business reasons. This same guy, Mr Leister comes to my room. I am on Video conference. He starts yelling and tells me ' You stop this now and get out' (verbatum). Hotel business gets recognized for its hospitality and courteousness. For business travelers, we sometimes extend our checkout by an hr or so and all the hotels, including Ibis have been accomodative and courteous. Even a no is said politely and with some alternate options given. This guys tells me, 'This is my home and you get out now' (again verbatum). I sincerely suggest Ibis group to take some strong actions here. Its an extreme case of Humiliation and Racism. It Questions Ibis as an International Brand.

Overall ok, however on our first stay on the monday, the room we were given the bath panel was damaged and looked like it had been for a while as it was water damaged and mouldy. Also the lamp in the hallway in the room was broken. On our second stay on the Thursday night which this survey links to, the bathroom was missing the extractor fan, just a dirty hole in the wall where the fan used to be. In my sons bed the bed sheet had burns in them which I assume was cigarette burns. There were a couple of issues in the hotel common areas, the lift had an unsettling drop when you got in, and it had to re level itself. On our first stay the toilets were out of order by reception , they had blocked the entrance with leaning a ladder in the way. Not great with kids around. The car park to the hotel was very secure, however it seemed only one light out of 5 worked so it was very dark. However staff were friendly and the lobby area seemed inviting and clean.

we paid directly through your website booking a family room, with breakfast included. On arrival we were told we had to pay more for the kids to eat breakfast and asked if they had allergy friendly food otherwise i'd let the kids have our breakfasts as both adults cant have gluten was told its all fine and we could all eat. checked in ect. paid the extra although this did frustrate me. and went upto our room. On arriving at the room it was nothing exceptional the bath was covered in dust dirt and hair which I ended up cleaning myself as it was very hard to translate the issues to the reception staff. Managed to request two extra pillows and asked for some hot water as there are no kettles available. went out for the evening arriving late at night back from paris, went to get into bed to find the sheets under the top one dirty and covered in a bright pink stain! as no house keeping would be available and the staff barely spoke English along with the fact the children were now asleep so we wouldn't be able to let someone in even if they could understand us and actually change the sheets. Waited till the next morning and asked them to change the sheets for CLEAN ones that day which was eventually done - well I assume and hope they were swapped for clean sheets anyway. Breakfast was a poor spot nobody actually understood the request for gluten free and all the food was clearly gluten filled, cereals, bread, pastries ect. we understand we don't expect to be accommodated but had I known all I could eat was a yoghurt and some weird overly soft fruit in a bowl and coffee I WOULDNT have paid for it and eaten else where. tried to asked about food we could eat or cancelling the breakfast but nobody understood us so we gave up and had coffee and a yoghurt for 12 a day per person which was absolutely disgusting. to top all the above off we had bug killing traps in the room that were placed near enough under the bed side table that our son kept picking up asking what they were with ' DONT TOUCH POISON' on the front!!! these should not be in a family room or at least not visible or touchable especially by children.

We booked 2 rooms for our family of 5. Checking in was quick and easy, staff helpful and welcoming. Beds were comfortable, but one of the shower cubicles had remnant hair in. Secure hotel carpark was full but nextdoor restaurant carpark had spaces. Hotel corridor fairly noisy from 6am onwards.

« Very hot, no airconditioning »

We arrived in a very hot room. Outside temp. was 22 degrees Celsius. Inside it was 25 deg.C. We found the control panel for (we assumed) the airconditioning and switched it on (just before dinner). When we got back the room was still very hot. We hoped that it would get better during the night, but it got only hotter. Therefore we and our two young children hardly slept. Next time we will check beforehand if there is airconditioning in the hotel.
