The location is good and the hotel overall is ok. There are some areas that should improve though. Breakfast was very limited especially when I consider that I payed an avarage of 230£ per night. I have stayed in another 2 star ibis in Berlin and the breakfast selection was much more higher eventhough the price was nearly half compared to this one. I also didn't like the check in / check out procedures. The attempt to be more easygoing and casual with the guests might seem interesting but you need to have a pc, a printer and your cash in one place in order to avoid unnecessary back and forth to the back room to get things done. Another annoying thing was the unlicensed taxi driver they called for us at the end of the trip to get to the London Bridge train station. We payed double for the same root we had done on the day of our arrival.

This great modern hotel is in a great location. Next to under ground and a short walk from attractions. Staff are great! Food is good and very reasonable too! Basic rooms but all you’ll ever need for a trip to see the big city.

« dirty! »

1. room was never cleaned in 5 days, only changed the towels and fixed the bed. 2. sheets were changed only once, even though were noticeably dirty 3. toiled smelled urine as you opened the toilet door! 4. our online booking was done with eur, while at check in in we were told that we could pay only in pounds 5. the breakfast was worst than of a 1* hotel. no variety and of course dirty 6. on the third night the fire alarm woke us up on midnight and it resulted to be a fals alarm = british joke

Just disspointed. I have been there for many times. The fire alarm was ringing by mistake in the middle of the night (00:00) while i was sleeping, without any reason. Called the reception desk and noone answered. The mattress was so thin like sleeping on the floor. I went to the restaurant order a filet medium and it was brought raw. At check out they gave me a bill for a group (total cost 5000 GBP) instead of my bill. When i told them that there is a mistake since i was 1 room for 4 nights, the receptionist told me that i was wrong..just disspointment.

Staff as always are friendly. However there were several issues with the quality of the room that detracted from our stay. Firstly the shower head screw did not work, so it kept slipping to the bottom and I found it very difficult to use the shower as a result. I had to ask staff twice to fix this - the first time, nothing was done. Second, the cleaning of the room was generally poor. There were crumbs at the side of bed which were still there after we left (we deliberately left them to see if they would be cleaned). Lastly, no-one checked the shower gel. It was empty for the last two days, but thankfully I had some of my own.

Room was comfortable and easy accessibility. Staff were attentive and friendly Checking in and out was easy. The only reason it isn't a ten is that I found the aircon quite noisy.

Very bad experience with the breakfast, there was 3 machines for coffee but only one was working. The staff closed the others very early for the cleaning. That gave a bad impression. That for example the clients were not important, not important to serve them well, their happiness. The customers didn't exist, only the staff's work. So the first morning, I went to the breakfast at 9:30, the only machine not switched off had an error code, so not possible to use it either. I had to wait, no staff nearby. Finally I got my coffee anyway. If there would be at least two machines, that would give more flexibility, not that much queues, waitings, if the machine is out of order for a moment because the coffee or water is finished, one can go to the other machines, or instead of waiting when there are other people. Believe me, it is not so nice to spend breakfast time in trying to make coffee. The customers have also right to a full service, not a restricted one, during the whole regular breakfast time. Also the breakfast was not very good because there was no fresh vegetables (cucumber, tomato, salad). Having that it would have had a totally different impact. But anyways, for me it is more important how the clients are treated and the closing of machines early speaks its language. The staff in the reception was very kind and friendly and polite. But often in the evenings there was no one, you had to wait someone to come. Also they never answered the phone. The first night I tried to phone to ask for the breakfast times because I had not been told that when checking in. So no one answered to my numerous calls. So I had to put my clothes on and go to the reception. The same happened when I phoned other times. Also when I arrived, in the check in, I paid the first night accommodation. When checking out, I was looking at the receipt for the card transaction, so I first thought that they had made me pay more, but then when looking carefully the receipt, I understood, that it was not mine, I had been given some else's receipt ! Otherwise it would have been a nice experience, I had been earlier once at that hotel, and did have had a good souvenir. The purpose of my trip was to meet with my children in London, but they were not with me at that hotel.

I stay at Ibis Shoreditch for three main reasons: (1) brand loyalty - a Gold LeClub Accor member means I get upgrades and other perks (free drink coupon); (2) cost as my travel budget is modest and (3) proximity to the tube and the office. A fourth reason is that the buffet bfast is usually included and while modest it provides a good start to the day.

« Perfectly Adequate »

This is what I would describe as an egg box hotel room. Clean, warm, simple but just what you need for a one night stay for work. There’s no room service but you can order food over the phone and they’ll phone you in your room when it’s ready. The only thing was that the promised menu wasn’t in the room. This stopped me go9ng to the restaurant for an evening meal. You lost some of my business.
