The City Ibis is always dependable...good bar, functional rooms with little of no noise at medium to high levels, and great location, close the Shoreditch action, Brick Lane and many bars and restaurants. I keep returning.

« great location, right next to tube station »

the room was quiet, no traffic noise, I was a bit worry about the noise of the traffic but it turned out to be quiet.Staff in the reception area were brilliant and polite. the only thing was that there was no toilet rolls in the toilet and I spoke to one of the staff who was tiding up the adjacent room , she promised me to refill the toilet rolls in a bit but it did not materialised. I had to use my own tissue.

« Great for a short stay »

Most important thing first: their new sweet room bed was comfy! We stayed 3 nights in early January. Upon a cold long walk from Liverpool Street station (the tube station had been closed down due to crowding and track troubles) after arriving from Southern Europe, we found no one to help us check-in. The one person available was pulling bags/helping others. The hotel lobby and hallways are nicely done and impede sound from carrying. Our room and shower were bigger than expected for an Ibis. The wifi was easily connected and stable. Although we left no towels on the floor the next day, we got 2 new towels. The next day, we returned to our room to find one wet towel still hanging on the hook, no other towels, no bathmat, no new/clean glasses, and our used coffee cups still on the desk. Although we paid for a late check-out, housekeeping came banging on our door at noon ignoring the do not disturb sign. One afternoon we stopped by the lobby bar. Sadly, we had to interrupt the workers personal conversation and their attitude let us know they weren't happy about it. Overall, taking housekeeping out of it, our room was good. Skip the in-house restaurant/bar, there are plenty of other options close-by. Would we stay here again? Maybe...if we needed to be in the area again.

« excellent with caveats »

Excellent check in, fast breakfast and restaurant. I just did not like that when I left the hotel I requested a taxi to the receptionist who called a pirate taxi who did not accept a credit card and still charged me 40 pounds to take me to the King Cross station that I had not paid more than 15 pounds in all the taxis I used during the period, including what brought me from King Cross to the hotel.

The rooms were a little on the small side compared to US standards, but they were comfortable and clean. The staff was amazing. Quick check-in and check-out. Had a couple issues with out key card and they offered to bring the programming computer up to the room so I would have to walk back down if it didn't work again.

« Pleasant stay, housekeeping a bit inconsistant »

The room was pleasant, enough furnishings and liked having lots of channels on the tv. The housekeeping was inconsistant, some days our coffee cups were swapped, the saucers werent swapped, they didnt notice when we ran out of body wash, toilet paper not topped up, floor never vacuumed

« Surprisingly! »

We had a warm welcome! Rooms are small, but very nice decorated and had everything we needed. Breakfast was also unexpected great choice, and had even some glutenfree options of which the chocolat Muffins were my favourite. Hotel is centrally located and therefor perfect for a visit to London. The only problem I suffered was the noice of the aircirculation that kept me out of sleep, but I am a light sleeper My husband didn't had issues with it... The staff was extremely helpfull as our flight was lastminute cancelled. We can not thank them enough, especially Thomas! Thanks everyone for taking good care of us and have a wonderfull 2018!

« A hip hotel with a desirable location but door lock issues soured my stay. »

I appreciate the helpful and friendly staff and enjoyed my accommodations but arriving late evening with key card issues and a door lock with a dead battery made the stay not as pleasurable as it should have been. If I stay again, I do not want room 442 or any with similar layout on other floors.

« Ideal hotel for a short visit to London »

We had a family room (two adults / one seven year-old). Basic room, clean, practical - no frills (but we were not expecting any). Friendly, efficient staff on check in. Pleasant communal areas. Location is the best - 50 metres from Aldgate East Tube. Easy to get to the sights. Plenty of restaurants and bars close to the hotel. Just what we needed!

The hotel was located in a perfect place just 2 minutes away from the underground but rooms were too small and the shower was clogged. Because the bathroom part of the room is unusual this created flooding in the toilet area. Bed was comfortable and we could sleep well. Breakfast could improve, for 10 pounds outside I could get a better more tasty breakfast than the usual eggs, bacon and sausage.

A delightful moment back in London. A hotel week placed to go visit the City, next to everything. The crew is amazing et very king. We had a great time celebrating Christmas with them. The breakfast is really something with all sort of delicious food !
