Everything I have come to expect with Novotel. Not exactly in a central location, but you receive a a Bern visitor card which gives you free public transport for 24 hours ... and the hotel is very near a tram stop. More expensive than many Novotels, but then this is Switzerland!

I was a bit afraid about location, as I was attending a meeting at the university and it seemed to me too far away. However, once there I realised that was an option even better than the city center: tram in front of the hotel, nice neighbourhood in the vicinities with restaurants and supermarkets. I can only recommend this hotel. Room was comfortable, good working space, good design. Maybe, only light to read in the bed could be better.

Hotel was in a good location for public transport. Room was OK but bathroom vanity could do with a clean with Ajax. We stayed on a Sunday night and was very surprised for a big city that the hotel restaurant was unavailable for guests. It was a rainy evening and we had to find a place elsewhere for dinner.

My colleagues should normally be very motivated to provide suggestions for all kind of preferred food and drink locations. Either nearby or with delivery service. first at 9h30 Pm our children could not sleep because a dog in the room next to us was continusly barking . Then during the night one of my sun had a big spider on his face. We realize that the room was full of spider web. One spider can happen but a room with full of spider is the result of a poor cleaning process. So we started a spider hunt whereas our children were sleeping. So in a nutshell the worst night ever and I would recommend everyone to skip this hotel.

I can truly understand that circumstances of this kind can drive people crazy. We would have been very glad to assist you with the neighbour's dog. We always try to make our guests stay as comfortable and smooth as possible - also with interventions on other clients (noise, bad behaviour etc.). We'll have a look at the current cleaning procedures but I can assure that we have the "dust" and "spider web" task on a daily/weekly basis (depending on spot in the room as well). The hotel was nice... the staff at the front desk were very helpful, but the room service is not at all to the novotel standards, they don’t clean the room properly, they don’t add shampoo until I asked for it, the staff at the breakfast need more training on how to handle lots of guests, the breakfast plates are not being renewed until you ask for it ... the underground parking is very small and narrow to make it very difficult to park a bigger cars

Overall the hotel was great, as a non-native speaking visitor staff was easy to converse with, the room does have an odd set-up(compared to typical US hotel rooms) where the toilet was separate from sink. Breakfast was ok, but for an extended stay it never changed.
