« Unpleasant check-in experience »

Often, check-in at a hotel gives you the first impression of a city and the hotel. I didn’t have very positive experience this time. I told the check-in lady that I’d done the online check-in, in return, I received very blunt response that online check-in does not mean that you have early check-in, it only means that it may take less time to do check-in. I said OK, ok, I understand. The check-in lady kept on repeating online check-in doesn’t mean you have early check-in…… I felt like I was being scolded and blamed for doing the online check-in myself. Ok, sorry Novotel Suites, I shouldn’t do the online check-in myself or I shouldn’t told it to the reception. I was too tired to answer back after the long flight. Anyway, the hotel is at the Mitte area, which, I won’t recommend to stay if you are a tourist, as most of the main attractions in Hamburg are in the South West side of the Central Station. Nevertheless, it is 2 minutes walk from U-bahn Lohmuhlenstraße Station, or 8 minutes walk from S-bahn Berliner Tor Station. As for the room itself, it’s spacious, with very good water pressure for shower. However, the room’s deco is rather dated. The only kitchenette facility is a microwave and a small washing basin.

« Very good place to stay »

This place will suite not only single person who is during their business trip. The suite was so spacious that 3-4 persons family would comfortably spend a night in here. Extremely uniqe bathroom (somewhat corresponding to ship's cabin). There might be a small restaurant not only a bar at lounge. Also minibar is missing.

Pleasant but like many novotel the rooms lack aircon and even on a cool night with window open the ventilation too poor to get a good nights sleep. Otherwise excellent.

« Long weekend in Hamburg (for the Haspa Marathon) »

We had a pleasant stay in the Novotel Suites. The room was spaious and plenty of room for all of us; 2 adults and 2 adolescents. The batchroom section was OK, but need some maintenance and we did not understand the choice for plastic as main building material. But all was clean. The breakfast area in the lobby-area was a bit small but the staff was working hard to clean the tabels so we didnt have to wait long in rush hours. Breakfast was not as large as in other Novotels but we did not miss anything in the end....Hotel is well located near the U-bahn (Lomuhlenstrasse); very convenient. Concluding: for staying with your family in one room, the Suites is a great choice. For a couple or alone maybe choose the other Novotel, nearby, for a more hotel experience...with (assumingly) somewhat better amenities.

The stay was very satisfying and the hotel staff was very. The room was larger then expected (very much appreciated) and comfortable, sheets were impeccable and tea/coffee service was very welcome. I found it very good that the fridge was there and that it was empty for my child's food to fit in. No need to shuffle around the unwanted alcohol.

I was met by an indifferent receptionist during check-in. My room, while certainly clean, was threadbare and worn. The breakfast service was minimalist at best, enough to get started but not a particularly enjoyable or warm process or product. The mistake on my bill at check-out was initially blamed on me, and subsequently I was lectured on how, next time, I could be more vigilant to prevent the error made by the indifferent receptionist and was informed of how inconvenient it was for the reception desk attendant to make the correction. In summary, marginal.

« nice room, great view, perfect ocation »

The room was very spacious, well equipped with a large and comfy bed. The view was stunning. The check out time is 11 am, which didnt stop the room maid from knocking on the door every 30 minutes starting at 8:30 to check , if I left the room. Quite annoying. Other than that very recommandable!

I have stayed at this hotel for many years now with a lot of mixed experiences. However over the past 18 months all the times I’ve stayed I can not give enough praise.
