Just a 3 km from de Madrid Barajas Airport the Ibis is a good option for travelers that needs to spend one night waiting for a flight. The hotel provides free transport between airport and hotel. There are some restaurants nearby and a supermarket just beside the hotel. Room and clearness as per Ibis quality. There is no minibar in the room

For many years we have used our USA passport card as means for the hotel staff to identify our photo identity. Then scan and transmit this info to the police. This was done this time at this hotel in a previous recent booking, in a previous recent booking at A Coruña Ibis Styles, in a booking in Burgos aislacionismos de la Merced, in a booking at Asturias Artiem, and at the Parador de Fuente Dé. All of a sudden, we were requested our passports, that were duly secured in our locked luggage. We did not like that.

All I can say is that my team was strictly complying with Spanish law in terms of identity cards and passport on arrival. I do not know why you were not requested for the original document when visiting all those other hotels, but as far as our hotel is concerned, we were following the law. Great staff. Rooms quiet. Great beds. Rooms and hotel clean. Shower head holder was broken so bit annoying . Breakfast was great but needs labels as to what is gluten free. No sign to say if there is gf bread avail even though I sent early request. Coffee machine not working....coffee pots provided but coffee was burnt and worse than bad instant. There was a coffee machine in front foyer...should have had that option. Coffee was priority as early morning flight. Shuttle buses and drivers fantastic. Check- ines quick and efficient. Only 1x business centre computer/printer which was in use. Staff were excellent to print out boarding passes for us- thankyou.

Welcome was friendly and efficient. I was concerned that there was no safe in the room. If there was I could not find it. I probably would not stay longer because of this. Lemon water welcome.

Very happy with this hotel- welcome was friendly and efficient, rooms were clean and quite spacious and the shuttle bus service to and from the airport was excellent. The area was surprisingly pleasant with plenty of options for food and drink within walking distance and a large supermarket next door.

Hotel is perfectly located near the airport, with free shuttle. It's near a big grocery and good for last minute shopping of goodies to bring home. It is also near restaurants. Best of all, reasonably priced with clean and basic room which is good for a night stay or so.

The hotel is lovely, clean and inviting and staff are very helpful. Only issues we had were: *There was only one person on reception and he was talking to a customer on the phone so we had to wait around 10mins before another member of staff could check us in *Shower gel container in the shower was empty * Can hear noise from other rooms Other than the above we had a pleasant experience and would stay there again. It's close to the airport, supermarkets and restaurants.

Arrived late on Friday and waited 50 minutes for the last shuttle only to be told there was not enough room for my party. We ended up taking a taxi after an hour delay.

Ibis was as good as always, with nice functional clean rooms, friendly, english-speaking staff and extraordinary breakfast They have a shuttle bus free of charge to the airport untill around midnight which we didn't use as we came well after that. It was about 15 eur for uber. The neighbourhood was nice and we took a 45 mins stroll in the morning just to stretch our legs a bit

Woken up by stranger in my room

I stayed at the Ibis Madrid Barajas from 21-23 August. We were woken up by a stranger entering our room at around 3am during the night of 21 to 22 August. We were told the next day that a mistake was made during check in and our arrival wasn't registered correctly. Hence, the room appeared as free on the system and was allocated to another guest who then entered out room at 3am in the morning. This made us feel really unsafe in the hotel and is quite a serious security breach. Someone could have been harmed or personal items being stolen. It is absolutely unacceptable for something like this to happen in this day and age. It could have been caught when I went down to reception reporting that the wifi code with my name and room number did not work - assuming this is linked to the booking. Instead I was told to use a generic login. The reception staff did not even consider thinking about the root cause of why the wifi code wasn't working. Had she done that, she may have realised the problem. When I complained about this the next day, it did not appear to really bother the reception staff. They just said that they were sorry and offered a free breakfast which was totally unacceptable considering what had happened.

Please, allow me to apologize for the inconvenience you suffered regarding the confusion with the key card. As you can imagine, this is not something that use to happen in our hotel (at all), but in this case, there was a misunderstanding so, again, I am really sorry for this issue. Regarding the wifi connection, we always try to find out about any possible technical issue that may be generating any malfunction, but in the meantime, we think it is easier to provide our guests with a quick and smooth solution so they can continue connected to their devices.
