This was my second stay at Ibis Hamburg Airport and I can only say: I'll be back! Travelling with a pet can be exhausting, as you're constantly conscious about your furry friend's well-being - and if she is disturbing others. So having a good place to stay is paramount. The hotel and restaurant staff are kind and welcoming. The place is clean and peaceful, making you and your 4 legged buddy feel at ease in no time. Whenever I'm transiting in Hamburg - this will be my first overnight choice.

Last year there was a shuttle service, but not so now. This was a big dissappointment and caused unexpected expense (taxi). Will likely avoid this hotel in the future. The dinner selection was surprisingly good. The room is getting tired.

And their are right, because a lot of people take this bus now and their are very satisfied with it. Dated rooms with no aircon or airflow temperature control broken or de-activated. When doors of other rooms slam you bounce in your bed. Was too hot so had to open window and have noise.

Very friendly and nice staff, cool looking lobby/breakfast area, satisfied with the food. The room is good while showing it's age a bit, still ok and clean. Bathroom very interesting designwise, with a few missteps as far as cleanness goes.

« Good for the money »

Very good! Nice room. The dinner and breakfast was also good. The male staff during the evening when I arrived was not very welcoming as the women were. The staff in the morning however was very energetic and happy which made me feel more happy as well - big thumbs up!

Concerning the breakfast, I am very astonished, because we offer bread, breadrolls, marmelade, Nutella, coffee, water, croissants etc. for 5,50 Euro, and we added a offer for 2,50 extracosts and than you get sausages and cheese. Good: Staff was very friendly. Bad: Bathroom had many hairs left in the shower and even on the toilet seat from I assume the previous guest. The bed had something like sand in between the bed and the blanket. There were also hairs in between the bed and blanket. It was very itchy and I struggled to sleep well as it was constantly itching. The restaurant food was a bit disappointing. I had the ibis menu on the first night: tasted ready made as if it was just warmed up, the pasta was chewy. The second evening I had the chicken. The salad dressing and mushroom sauce itself was good, but the chicken had a texture of not being freshly made. In my opinion, for that quality of food, it was far too overpriced.

« Would have been a lot better without the noise. »

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, no complaints there. My only complaint is that I could hear the sound of people walking in the hallway, the sound of suitcases being rolled over the floor, the sound of toilets flushing. These sounds woke me up a couple of times, while I was trying to sleep well before an important day.

Overall experience was fine. However during my stay on 2 occasions I was asked at reception about my bill, I was and still am confused why the question were being asked; on one time it related to breakfast and the other occasion related to a booking I made for December. It was quite embarrassing and still I don't know why the questions were being asked.

« My last stay »

Upon check in I went to my room only to find out that the bed was used, in the bathroom wet and used towels were on the floor = the room wasn't cleaned and made up after the previous guest. Complaining at the reception, I was informed about problems with the cleaning staff, given a voucher for a free drink at the bar and given a new room. Only dropping my luggage in the new room I had to leave and get a few things done. Upon return I went straight for the dinner in the hotel restaurant (which was good!) went to the room, had a shower and wanted to sleep. Laying down in the bed (with clean bed linen) I found several long black hairs on the bed sheet = not mine as I have short bond hair! However I was just too tired to complain again as I had to get up at 4:20am to go to the airport,. Unfortunately the hotel reception forgot to give me a wake up call which I requested and they even noted down in their manual excel spread sheet. Good that I had my own alarm set - if relying on the hotel I would have missed my flight. All of this was in addition to being informed that the hotel is not offering a shuttle service to the hotel anymore and I had to pre-book a hotel (of course for an additional cost). After so many years using the IBIS Hamburg I was truly frustrated and am not sure it is worth to stay again or look for an alternative. In any case I wanted to give a feed back to assist you in improving your services (jut get back to where you were before) after staying so many years with you.

I traveled from Puerto Rico for a business trip, and they even allowed me to make an early check in (after 26 hours of flight). The girls in the kitchen were amazing to me. Treated me like a queen! I have to say I will always stay here (when in Hamburg). The room was always clean, comfy bend and pillows. Just amazing! 100% recommended.
