We stayed at this hotel at the end of our holiday and it was good value and child friendly. The hotel is situated on the edge of city and convenient for the airport - 15 mins by car and 30 mins plus to get to tourist attractions across the city by train & metro - for example, Sagrada Familia is circa 1 hour. We had a double room with a pull-out sofa bed but the room was too small for 2 adults with 2 children and there is very little hanging or draw space. For one night it suited us but location and room not ideal for a longer / city break.

We stayed here after arriving in Barcelona by train and flying out the next morning. It was easy to get to nd from both the train station and the airport, which we did by taxi each way. The hotel itself was great as was the dinner and breakfast we had.

Have stayed in this hotel annually for the past five years. Friendly and courteous staff. Good breakfast always. I have never had a negative comment for this hotel except for my last visit. We were 3 in the room but only 2 towels were available on our first night. The second night we got the third towel and then our towels were not changed for the next three nights even though we left them in the bath. Pity as I have always liked this hotel.

We booked this hotel because we had stayed in Novotel hotels England and Wales and they had always been fine..this was no exception. From the moment we arrived to the day we left (we stayed for 6 nights) we were completely happy with our choice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, and although they were busy, any request from extra pillows to recommendations of restaurants was never any bother. Although the hotel is not situated in the city centre, there is an excellent train service which takes you there in about twenty minutes and is only a ten minute taxi ride from the airport. We went there during half-term (two adults, two children) to relax and enjoy some sun before the English winter sets in and that's exactly what we got...good weather + good hotel = excellent holiday.

We were upgraded to a suite on arrival. Clerk at desk made 3 keys and put one to one side saying it had not "taken" Tried to check in at 10:00am but apparently the room was not ready. Left luggage in storage room and went out returning around 3:30pm. Being tired from overnight travel from Toronto we went for a sleep at around 4:30pm. Room was entered at 4:06pm according to entry listing given to us on 15/10/2017. At 7:30pm awakened by an alarm. Got up to discover my wife's purse and a small grey container were missing. Went down to lobby to report this. Clerk at desk stated that my wife did not arrive with a purse. Camera footage reviewed by a manager showed that she did. We were then told by the desk clerk that we would have to go to the police station to report this but it was not open until midnight ???? My wife's purse contained our passports, money and credit cards. Therefore we were at the mercy of the hotel to assist us. She also stated that we should come back in about 20 minutes as she would review the camera footage. After 20 minutes we returned and she then said that she could not do this and it would probably be reviewed on Monday. Left hotel with taxi driver at 11:53pm to attend police station and returned at 1:06am the next day. There was another room entry recorded at 00:11 on 15th October. This was during the time we were both at the police station ??? General manager who we did not get to meet until 16th October in the afternoon stated that there was a "time change" in Barcelona on Saturday night. This is completely untrue and we advised him of that. He then backtracked and said that there was a malfunction ???? On the second entry while we were at the police station further items had gone missing and our suitcases were messed up somewhat. Items this time included e-readers and 2 items of my wife's clothing. Other entries recorded were indeed accurate and were made by us. At this point we feared for our safety and barricaded ourselves into our room. We took turns trying to sleep. We notice now that our "upgraded" room was positioned directly opposite the emergency staircase that has a sign posted that an alarm will sound if opened. Your hotel management implied that we were maybe making this up !!!! Facts. 3 hotel room door keys made. An entry by what was said to be our room key at 7:25pm while we were asleep. Upgraded to an easy escape route room. No cameras in any hallways. An entry made during our visit to the police station and more items removed. My wife had the purse at check in. No safety chains on doors from the inside. None working deadbolt.

Great family price including breakfast. Close enough to metro to get into Barcelona and back. Also access to airport transportation. The breakfast was very filling. The breakfast was high-quality. They had many options to choose.

On arriving at the hotel around 12.15,Having checked in on line the day before,I asked if i could have an early checkin(being a platinum member).And was told no,So i had a meeting in the hotel bar,after the meeting approx 1.15pm,I asked the receptionist if it was possible to check in now,and was told no,So i put my small case in a luggage room,and was told by the lady on the desk my room would be ready when i got back,Arriving back at the hotel at 8.45pm,i went to pick my room key up,There was two Girls behind the counter,They had problems finding a room for me.after 15 minutes,i was given a room key,And an apology,for the wait,I went up to the room opened the door,And was shocked to find the room booked out already,I went back down and waited another 20 Minutes,received a key for another room on level two,The room was very tired looking and had a smell of stale tobacco. The two Ladies on reception did there best to resolve the situation,But throughout this problem,I never spoke the Manager ,or a senior member of staff.

I have enjoyed the stay with my family at this place. However, it is far from the city and getting a taxi is a big challenge. Many times the taxi company has cancelled the taxi after confirming the same initially. The staff at the restaurant need some training to be friendly with people of Indian origin.

Clean and nice hotel near the airport. As we stayed for several nights we would though prefer staying a litter nearer the city center. We had a couple of sunny days during our trip. and therefore it was nice with a pool and some sunchairs.

First return for several years. For me want sets Novotel apart has been the fact the menu/food can be relied upon. Very disappointed to find the restaurant is now nothing more than a burger bar/fast food restaurant. Despite my misgivings I ordered a steak cooked 'medium'. It was so well cooked I had to give up eating half way through because my jaws were aching! A stark contrast to my previous nights stay in Clermont-Ferrand.

« A really underestimated hotel »

The value for money at this hotel is incredible. I stayed at a low rate but did notice that they offer these lower rates frequently. Breakfast is good, staff is very friendly. If you travel by (rental) car - the location is perfect. Five minutes from the airport, 12 minutes (depending on traffic) from center of town. Public transport takes a little longer but is still okay.

Met many people who all said they found this place my pure chance and repeatably come back as perfect place to relax whilst the children easily keep themselves entertained, whether it is for one night, three nights or a week or more. Location great if you are driving, especially if you've just collected it from the nearby airport and plan to head up/down the coast. By car your are at the beaches within 15 minutes

Before I make my comments, it is clear to me that I arrived during the vacation/tourist season. However, to have to wait for so long at check in and then to get a room that had been smoked in and then have to wait another 15 minutes before I was told there were no other rooms is not exactly a great service. The reception requires MORE people than the two over-worked colleagues. The room smelled but was, however, clean. The hotel is only an 8 minute walk to the Almeda train station so Barcelona City is easily reachable.

Very good and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is only 10 minutes away from BARCELONA airport by taxi which is around 20 euros. Spacious rooms catering for all needs and has a pool, restaurant and bar.

The property is well kept, strategically located for business, travel or leisure. Staff is really kind and helpful, rooms are tidy and clean. My stay was uneventful, pleasant, quiet and relaxing. The area is sourrounded by a good variety of shops and resto's.

I had ordered tickets to a football match which was delivered to this hotel in advanced. But in the hotel they did somehow lost my tickets. I was disappointed for that. BUT: they arranged me new tickets on time and they did offered little extra for me! Thank you for that. From hotel there is a bus route to city center.

On arriving at the hotel at 1.00 am. We were pleasantly greeted by the Male Receptionist. All we wanted after the flight and transfer was a drink. We were kindly informed that we had a mini bar in our room. This was not booked initially. So was a very nice surprise. The room was what we had before when we stayed at another Novotel in Madrid last year. (another reason for booking) But we had complimentary slippers and bathrobe. One tip for guests: Do not put the coffee machine if anyone is asleep, it's quite loud, so woke us up! Hotel had all the familiar things, that was in the other hotel. They had several Xbox's for the children and one with a kinnect and a play area. The breakfast was alright. Not so much choice at this hotel, but was enough for a good breakfast. The hotel was about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the nearest metro, that took you into Pl Espanya, then a transfer of metro to other destinations. This took about 10 - 15 minutes. It depended where you wanted to go. There were plenty of places to eat and drink and had a shopping centre near the metro. We found a Chinese restaurant right next to one of the entrances of the metro, that did 3 meals and drinks for under 20 euros (this depending on what you had). The hotel's receptionist staff had different levels of knowledge, but they did have a big screen that you could find information about Barcelona and the area. The only issue we had, was not to do with the Hotel, but the transfer from the flight from Girona Airport. We picked the only day where the flight arrived after 11.30 pm. There are no transfers/buses after this time, so had to pay for a taxi to get us to the hotel. The transfer costs over 130 euros for a 1hr 10 min journey. The Male Receptionist was really helpful by telling us how to get the transfer back to Girona. The stay was very pleasant and would have no reason not to stay here again or choice another Novotel in another country.

Nice clean and serviceminded hotel and very serviceminded staff- this hotel is deffently recommedable. This area you must experience local food, which is not turist like. Try the small tapas bars, supermarked etc
