Enjoyed a two night stay with my husband. As a Platinum member, we enjoyed the friendly and professional attention of the staff in the Club Lounge as well as the quality food and beverages offered. Our room was very comfortable and well presented and clean.

« Not happy with original room »

I booked your hotel because of location and the images of rooms that you portray on your website. I was bringing my daughter to Sydney for a couple of days to celebrate something she had overcome and after paying $600 + was greeted with a less than desirable dark corner room with nothing but a bed and view of a brick wall. Very disappointed. After much back and forth with reception and your staff we were given a much nicer room but had to pay for an upgrade. I don't think you should be charging anywhere near what you charged for the original room. It's highway robbery! All of that aside your staff couldn't have been more helpful and I appreciated that fact very much

We enjoyed our stay. The location was very nice and we had booked a room with Club access, which I thought worth the extra cost. The bed was very comfy, bathroom was good. What surprised me was that the room had a musty, closed up smell, which was not alleviated by running the aircon, and did not disappear in the two days were were there. Probably this was because the windows could not be opened, but in a hotel of this class a smelly room is disappointing.

Basically the service and the room feel great. but I wound like to suggest your hotel to remove your current CCTV at the main entrance where the taxi drop off point area, during on that day of my arrival , I needed your staff to help me to check CCTV for the Taxi plate number, and very very sadly the CCTV not able to help me to find and see the taxi number, because the CCTV footage was very very blur and I am not able to call back the taxi for my taxi receipt within de few min, and I am not able to claim my taxi fare from my company. I feel sad and disappointing with pointless to have the system, when I need help and nobody can assist me. I sincerely hope you all can rectify it before someone need help from the CCTV.

« Enjoyable stay celebrating our anniversary »

Enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. The service was excellent from check in to check out. We had access to the club room which was also excellent. Loved afternoon tea and evening drinks and the buffet breakfast was fabulous. Our room was clean and the bed oh so comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to circular Quay and the Rocks. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Where do I begin! My reservation was for a superior king room. On arrival at the hotel at 11:45am I was told no rooms were available and that I would have to wait. I expressed my surprise and was told - very brusquely - that guaranteed check in was 2pm. I bit my tongue at that point. No offer was given to me for a free drink at the bar or a coffee in the coffee shop. The receptionist said that I would be given priority and would call me when a room was available. I sat and waited in the bar until 2pm. No call came and by that stage I was beyond furious. I went back to reception and asked on the status of my room. No attempt was made to explain. A different staff member made a big deal about apologising and saying he was upgrading me to a “king room”. When I countered that with the fact that was what I originally booked, I was just given a blank stare and a “computer says no” response. I had a wedding to attend to at 4pm so I just wanted to get to the room unpack and get ready. I was handed the room key which did not work in the elevator!! I had to then go back to reception and get another one!! No effort was made to assist with my bag - which is standard in any other five star property - but not in Australia! I got to the room and noticed how tired and worn the property is - much like every other “five” star hotel in Australia in which I have stayed. I noticed in the bathroom that the silicone around the toilet outlet pipe into the wall had come away in chunks and that the shower head was silted up. The water ran hot and cold and like other “five” star Australian properties the shower was over the bath - a WHS law suit waiting to happen. Later that night I had the pleasure of sleeping in the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. I have slept in some doss houses over the years but this bed was up there with the best of ‘em. There was a huge ridge in the middle of the bed obviously caused by each side of the bed being compressed from overuse. Time to get new beds. At least the linen was clean... I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies. I shan’t be staying at this property again. Extremely disappointed given the other Sofitel properties I have stayed in. Would not compare in the slightest to even the Sofitel Melbourne (and that’s looking tired and worn as well).

« Lovely hotel... be careful with your room choice! »

Only one night... I have stayed before... terrific staff and a lovely vibe. But our room near a lift resulted in little sleep. In addition the bathroom was old and dark... I could barely see in the mirror.
