Friendly staff on arrival, check in was swift. We had one of the new refurbished room, adequate and practical. Ensuite felt a little like getting into an aircraft toilet.

« Something completely wrong with the hotel booking system or staff training? »

Booked a standard room at this hotel with a half-board option for one night. Checked in, relatively quickly, and was offered a welcome drink voucher for my Gold LeAccor membership. I then had to ask about the half-board option. To which I was told I had not included it on my booking, when I asked them to check again, they confirmed I actually did! I was then provided with a voucher marked with breakfast and a 2 course evening meal. I then went to my room to change, and the room was a standard good quality ibis room. Extremely comfy bed, clean, functioning fixtures, and fully stocked tea and coffee in the room. I then went down for my evening meal and ordered my food at the bar, I was then presented with the bill, to which I showed by half board voucher. I was then told by the member of staff that the voucher was a drink voucher? The voucher was CLEARLY a half-board voucher, I then asked the member of staff to actually read the voucher, who then continued to advise me it was a drink voucher. I then repeated to him to READ the voucher, he said that the boxes for breakfast and the 2 course meal had an 'X' marked in the boxes, which meant I was not entitled to them. At this point I was getting extremely frustrated, I then asked him to check his system, as I had paid for a half board option. He then went away and came back following a few minutes and apologised for the confusion. In addition he admitted his fault and as a apology offered me a complimentary drink, which was kind of him. The meal itself was lukewarm but being tired and hungry, I eat it. I then went to bed and had a really good sleep. I then woke up the next day and went down for breakfast, I queued at the desk to be seated. A member of staff greeted me and asked my room number, which I gave. He checked his mobile tablet, and advised me I did not have breakfast included! I explained I had a half board rate included in my rate. He asked for the voucher, to which I advised I gave it to his colleague the night before for my evening meal and was not given it back. He then advised me to go to reception! As you can imagine the situation was frustrating! I could forgive the first mistake but the hotel making a second mistake regarding the same matter? I then went to reception and spoke to the duty manager and voiced my frustrations. Either there is a problem with the mobile tablet system the hotel uses or poor staff training? The duty manager was confused as he saw I did have the half board included in my rate. However, due to the frustration, I declined the breakfast and asked for the half board option to be removed from the bill. I then checked out and went on my way to my conference hungry! I can not understand why something so simple had to be so difficult. When I check into a hotel I expect a good service, well trained staff, and a problem free stay. In addition as a Gold member of the LeAccor membership program, I expect to have my loyalty honoured, is this how they really treat their 'frequent guests'? It questions why I stick with the Accor group and should move my custom elsewhere!

Long wait to check in as no staff present or visible. When member of staff did appear they appeared to be the only one working on check in / front desk. Very odd set up. Similar when checked out. No one around. Poor first impression. Not welcoming. Not helpful. Too slow.

Everything was fine. room and bathroom was clean. The only thing I would suggest is to have a box of tissues in the rooms - that would be a good addition Paying for parking the novotel reception was cumbersome - maybe you could set up parking payments from your reception area.

The hotel was in a great position for access to the O2 and underground station. Car parking was handy and the hotel was clean and tidy, with good facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful and check in was simple.

Was attending Watchtower Convention at Excel. Found staff to be pleasant and obliging at all times. Skilled at sorting out queries regarding rooms and our mistake in booking half of our party in to the other Ibis at Excel. Room was very clean with all the usual basics. Not a problem--but missed having small fridge. I would thoroughly recommend.

While the stay and room was fine, the customer service in billing enquiries is poor. I was charged an extra 95 GBP for no reason, and when I enquired about it through email and your customer service system (website), no one has replied so far. Add to that the inconvenience caused by having to shift the rooms because of a smoke issue, I would rather stay away from ibis in future.

Very nice hotel with nice new comfortable rooms. Free coffee and tea is excellent! Very friendly staff by check in and check out. Free luggage storage which was great. Airco was working centrally, so it was really warm in the room. And the room had a very bad smell during my stay. Further it was very nice!

Only stayed one night, and the air conditioning did not work, but I opened the window and it was extremely lovely. It was quiet, overlooking the water. Had a good sleep. Staff were very helpful.

The room is comfortable, particularly the bed, I really don't like the bathroom set up. This particular room did have a musty smell to it, which probably is from the bathroom.

The room was ok, the bed comfortable. However there was a smell of damp that was strong enough to wake my wife. The breakfast was good but the evening meal was basically out of a packet and not worth the money. However the Manager did make efforts to remedy this. The resulting meal was again adequate but no more than that.

When we check in it was lovely very welcoming but when it came to lunch time then again Dinner time they had no food in stock for us both times we tried all different options but as being a vegaterian this was hard! Also that night something happened when I had to inform the police of a incident they advised me to contact who ever was on reception at my hotel to see what other ibis hotels where around and to try contact them to look for my friend to which the response from the receptionist was "there's too many around it would be impossible" but I wasn't expecting the whole of London just the few around but they was very unhelpful and had such a bad attitude!
