« Quick and easy London visit »

I’ve stayed at Ibis hotels throughout London before and am always pleased with the experience. This stay was fine, but could be improved. The room was clean enough, well-appointed, and everything was in working working order. I found check-in a bit unnerving without a formal desk and the processing of our stay with the use of cellphones to be unsafe. The staff is great and friendly. The location is well-situated for easy transportation, but with 3 Ibis hotels in the skyline in the same vicinity, it was confusing as there was no differentiation in the logo as to which Ibis one is viewing from the DLR. We saw the first Ibis and jumped off the DLR too soon, only to be told that we were at the wrong one and that this happens all the time to eager guests. So we had to schlep back to the train-lesson learned.

I enjoyed my stay at the Ibis as the staff were all friendly and the room was clean. It was convenient to be able to get the cable car to the O2. Parking is next door too and reasonably priced.

« Could do better. Location great nut sort out the room cards..!! »

No problems checking in. Occasionally a wait for the lifts to the upper floors but OK. Annoying to have to have my room cards reprogrammed twice during as single nights stay - when on the 6th floor this is completely inconvenient. Was quite annoyed when the guest recention staff wan't really bothered and stated that the cards are affected by entering the ExCel centre .....if so then sort out a new system or how about notifying guests that this is a problem.

Accused of vaping In our room and charged £150 when in actual fact it was the deodrant that was sprayed under the smoke alarm that caused to light to come on. The bloke only suggested vaping because the e liquid was under the window in front of where he opened otherwise there was nothing In the room to even suggest it would be that. We feel because we were a young couple we were targeted. Charged £150 which meant we couldn’t do half of the things we had provisionally planned. I was also made to feel uncomfortable as the bloke entered our room whilst I was in Just my towel and would not give me time to put some close on.

Booked this for my daughter and her friend to stay in. They both said how friendly the staff were and how great a location it was. Easy to get to everywhere. They really liked the room as well saying the beds were really comfortable.

It was our base for taking part in the Prudential Ride London event. We were able to park our car in the secure Novotel car park and keep our bikes in our room which was great. We also used the bar and ate here. Food was very good.

« Nice rooms spoilt by noisy guests »

This is the third time I’ve stayed here and maybe I was just unlucky. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the aircon works, the location is superb if you are at the Excel Centre and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. But the behaviour of a party of guests at the hotel was terrible and I endured banging doors, shouting in the corridor and children playing until 1.45am. Management tried to help but this party would be quiet for 10 minutes and then start again. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but you keep emailing and asking for feedback so here it is. If this was a Premier Inn I would have asked for refund as they guarantee a good nights sleep and for two of the three nights I got very little sleep.

A friend and I stayed for three nights We had asked for a twin room. On arrival the beds were pushed together. I went down to reception and was told it would be arranged for housekeeping to change the bedding and separate the beds. This was done very promptly. On our second day tea and coffee etc weren't replenished. Small problems, overall we enjoyed our stay.

« Super friendly staff made for a great stay »

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the Excel. My room was spotlessly clean & had a lovely view of the Royal Victoria Basin. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and the food served in the bar (light meals) was quite good for the price. My only complaint was that I found out after the fact that I could have used the gym at the Novotel next door - there wasn't one jot of info either online or in the room that stated so. Also, if you have a very early flight back to the States as I did, the taxi fare is very pricey.
