« Great Location - Disappointing hotel experience »

Stayed with family from Mar 28 - April 1. The hotel itself is old and outdated - does not have the expected Le Accor/Novotel feel/ambience. Had to wait for over 20 mins for checking-in, despite being a prefered Loyalty member. Booked the family suite on the top floor. Were disappointed with quality of the suite compared to what we have come to expect after staying in other Novotels around the globe. The suite was rundown and plain dingy. It smelled of smoke. The sofas were stained and completely out of shape. Beds were old and lumpy. The water pressure in the showers was dismal. Breakfast in the executive lounge was passable - the service staff particularly just didnt care about keeping things stocked during the breakfast hour - had to remind them three days in a row. workers were on the roof, outside our room making a din starting 8:30 am - the hotel management didn't bother to inform us about it. The bright side - very close to train station and tourist destinations. The night concierge was super helpful - bright young guy with a smile who went above and beyond. He ensured that my family and I were able to enjoy the sights of Beijing. Overall - by far the worst Novotel I have stayed in till date. It does not represent the Novotel brand.

I have stayed at the Novotel numerous times in the past due to its very convenient location. This stay, in particular, was very pleasant due to due to the outstanding service from Julia Yang. She assisted us on several occasions and made life so much easier for us! She also took the time to have friendly chats about life in Beijing which enhanced our knowledge of this beautiful city. Please pass along our thanks to Julia! We found that the hotel itself is aging and the carpeting in the rooms, although fairly new, were not very clean. Breakfast was still terrific...thanks in particular to the young man making omelets! Food at happy hour was somewhat improved with the addition of vegetables but many items which should be kept hot, were cold. Overall a pleasant stay.

« It was good but felt not of Novotel Standard »

It was good but not a great one. Room was not ready at the time of check-in. We reached the hotel around 2pm but still room was not ready. Minibar was empty. Didn't expected this kind of standard from Novotel.

« Great hotel and convenient location »

The location, facilities are good. The food is also great in the morning. The premier lounge is also good place to relax. The improve area is the checking out time. It took the staff to check me out in about 20 minutes. I used to stayed in other hotel, and they make the invoice the night before, thus saving the time during check out. You can observe long waiting line at the checking out time.

« Dark, dirty and uncooperative staff »

I found this to be the worst ACCOR property Ive stayed in and I am a GOLD ACCOR member. The staff were surly, unsmiling, and in the Restaurant, uncooperative while the egg-chef was surly and ignored me for 10mins while he cooked the next bacth of pre-cooked eggs- while admittedly it wasvery busy..the dining room was a disaster zone..understaffed, dingy, and disorganised...would not stay in this property again in a pink fit...and Im usually one to post positive reviews...not this time. ACCOR this property is one of 6 of yours I stayed in over 2 weeks in China and Hong Kong..it really needs your attention and a makeover and staff attitude change.

Arriving to China after 18 hours last thing I wanted was to deal with an evening of lies. Upon check in I was sent to a room that I had not booked. I booked and paid for in advance the two floor premier executive suite . When I went to my room and noticed it was not what I booked I went back to the lobby. The check in worker said that the room I paid for did not exist?!? I had to look up the pictures and reservation online to show her what I booked and paid for the. She changed her story and said someone was in that room?!? So now the room exist but was double booked?!?! She then said the entire hotel only has one of these two floor rooms?!! I told her I booked this room simply because it had a kitchen we could cook at because we have food allergy’s. I asked for my money back so I can go to a different hotel and then was told that was not possible!?! Then she offered a fruit platter for my troubles. What kind of service is this I am a world traveler and I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I was sent to a tiny room that smelled of smoke. I had breathing difficulty as soon as I entered the room. I felt like my money was robbed from me. I spent a night in a tiny room with no kitchenettes as I had paid for with one bed when I wanted two. I will never recommend your hotel and told your checkin worker I would go on all U.S.A. Sites and post my review for all persons to read about my experience with your very rude and uneducated front desk lobby employees. After long travels the last thing I wanted was to be sent to a room I had not paid for without explanation. I felt I was being cheated. Your front desk employees should all be replaced or retrained. The following day we found out about the premier lounge and went there for help and to ask why we didn’t get our room as we paid for. The premier lounge employee was embarrassed and could not believe what I went through the night before upon check in. I should of been sent upstairs from the beginning to be check in by the area I had paid for. The premier lounge reception was able to cancel the old small room we were out in and was able to change us the following day tonthe room we paid for. We lost a day which we paid for since we were checked in a smaller upon arrival by your lobby check in persons. Upon arriving to the trim which we paid for the following day the room was missing the dining table in chairs in the kitchen area along with the refrigerator. I will never stay at your hotel again. Out of all of your staff I only found the one person at the premier lounge who helped us change to the room we paid for helpful. Also the spa in your hotel is falsely advertised we used it and didn’t get a discount as promised with premier guest and the massage was not profession and the hot bath area was a joke and unsanitary. I will make sure to let every review site know about my trip to your hotel. The citrus food area in the print had cockroach walking around underneath your coffee machines near the clean coffee cup and all you all the cooking staff does not use gloves while handling and cooking guest foods.

overall was OK, food are good, but we were given a inner room, window is inside the building and facing the restaurant, was informed because it is spring can't have aircon only wind, it was warm and hot at night, didn't had good sleep..

« Great family vacation »

We’ve returned from an 8 nights’ stay at Novotel Xinqiao. Overall, fantastic experience. We’ve stayed in a duplex (2 floor) suite on the 15th floor- great choice for a family of 4. One child (7 YO) stayed on the sofa, and our 11 YO, stayed on an extra bed provided at no extra cost. The benefits provided for those staying on the top floor were excellent surprises, including an all day provision of coffee and soft drinks at the lounge, Happy Hour which is almost a complete dinner provided from 1800 to 2000, free of charge laundry (1 item/day) all were very pleasant surprises. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel, and Julian, the manager, in particular for making our stay so lovely.

The hotel is quite old, one of the socket is not working and the fridge is not working neither. There is no air conditioning but that day the temperature is like 25 degree, and the staff told us to open the window instead but the air polluting is too serious that I can't really open the window. You should consider to have the air conditioning on for the whole year. Also the English of the staffs are too bad, they even can't understand a number! (I was saying my room number at that time)

Not so smooth on the check in but check out was ok. Turning on the fridge was a not easy, there's no idication of whether fridge is on and have to trial and test.
