We stayed for 4 nights in the superior room with 3 single beds. Although the room is rather outdated especially the toilet, we were happy with the overall experience. The train station is just outside of the hotel which made it really convenient for travelling. To our surprised, the hotel management sent a birthday cake to my husband, thank you for the nice gesture.

We book 2 periods of stay. 1 night in a triple room and 3 nights in a double and rollout bed. Firstly, for the triple room, shower flooring was too low which caused water to flow out of the bathroom and onto the floor outside making it soaking wet even though we put towels on the floor outside. For the double room with rollout bed, the rollout bed's front was damaged and the bed was slanting downwards making it very uncomfortable to sleep on.

We have booked via hotel online website and were supposed to stay on the executive floor which located on level 11 - 15. But were given a room on 5th floor with mouldy odours when we check-in. The bathroom floods when bathing. We finally changed to 11th floor on the second day of stay, its duplex design really suitable if we have visitor.

This was our first time in Beijing. We traveled to Beijing from Shanghai to attend a conference for three days during which I celebrated my birthday, and to see the beauty of Beijing for another 3 days. From booking to departure, we were well-looked after by the staff. I was also treated to 2 birthday cakes which were left in our room on our first day and on the actual day itself - a nice personal touch by the staff. The hotel's location was excellent and facilitated our travel to and from all the places we wanted to reach. Price was higher than our normal travel cost, which did not include breakfast, but overall it was ok.

Overall location was good. The only thing that matters most was wifi not able to use after hotel staff assisted to connect it for me. Check in took some time but check out was quick, just drop the card into the box.

« A hotel which is only concerned for making money with a very rude behaviour »

I had booked 2 suites for myself, my spouse, my 3 kids and my mother via Accor Hotels website at a tentative cost of RMB 5.6 K. Prior to my arrival, I had specifically requested (via email). if I could have both rooms adjacent to each other since my kids (youngest one being only 5 years) would love to be closer to their parents room. The day of our arrival, the lady at the reception seemed to be in an awful mood. She told me the rooms which I had booked would cost me about RMB 5.6 K for a 3 nights stay which was also quoted at the time of online booking. I asked her if both the rooms are adjacent to each other, she gave a blatant reply and said NO. I asked her if there is any option available through which I could have 2 adjoining rooms, she again said NO. I guess, the focal point in the mind of lady was to make maximum money from the customer. My contention is that if the hotel knew that there is no provision for adjoining suites, they should have informed me beforehand via email enabling me to take a decision in the best interest of my family. My belief is that a satisfied customer is the backbone of any organisation. For instance, when a customer visits a bank to invest in one of their products, it is the moral duty of staff to advise customer on the best option available ensuring that the decision taken is in the best interest of not only the customer but for the bank as well. I work for a banking institution and we follow this practice which is commonly known as "SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICES".

We booked a suite at the premier floor. The flat was spatious and well furnished. The staff was helpful and friendly. We appreciated the breakfast at the premier lounge. since it allows you to avoid line and crowd. The kids loved the happy hours. We had some small difficulties that were promptly solved by the hotel staff. Highy recommended.

« Older building needing touch up in the rooms, with outstanding staff service. »

This Novotel is the older one, and is a but run down in the rooms. I chose because of the location, and the price is accordingly lessthan the newer Novotel. The lobby and Premier loungs afe fine, our room had water stains on the wall, which should be re-wall papered. I will say the staff gave us the best service of any hotel I have stayed in....5 star service!

In a city where English speaking tourists are not catered for AT ALL, the hotel staff were extremely helpful.We stayed 3 nights and our room was frantastic and clean.After a week cruise we were allowed to return and leave our bags for the day at the hotel awaiting our chauffeur collection to the airport.This service was more helpful than imaginable.

Refused to accept the first room due to mold. Air condition was not working so well I would say Entrance area was very loudly Booked a tour to the Great Wall via Novotel travel agent with following experience: Was informed that the tour was with smal group (approx 10 people). We were approx 25 persons. A call to our room was done very late (11.45 PM) with info about a postponed pick up time with 20 minutes. The actual pick up time was 1 hour later. The time to go back from the Great wall wasn't respected either. We went back 30 minutes later than informed. The travel agent did at time of booking said 7 times that we will be back at 5.00 pm ---> we came back 7.00 pm and we missed our reservation at a restaurant... I assume that this was not the first time the travel agent did organize this tour, which is very surprising that they have so bad control over the time and traffic. Not respect the informed time is very outrageous. Sorry but this is something Novotel is responsible for. I will never book any tour via your authorized again due to this. / JOel

Excellent location, next to a subway station. Premium rooms offer unlimited beverages at the Premium Lounge, and a daily happy hour with snacks. The mattress and pillows on the king bed were excellent for sleeping. The only downside was the intermittent internet connection.

Breakfast is great. As we are vegetarians, your spread has enough varieties to fill our stomach. The bathroom is abit rundown though, the showerhead needs replacement.
