The hotel has a very good infra-structure. I received a large room, with a very cozy bed and a nice bathroom. The room was a quiet one and provided me a very good sleep quality. The breakfast is nice, but nothing fancy. The restaurant opens for lunch and dinner, which is quite handy, since it is a bit far from downtown. There are some restaurants in the vicinity and they are nice. There is a supermarket near the hotel too. Depending on the guest, it might bother to be a bit far from downtown. It takes between 20 to 25 minutes to walk to 18 de Julio. Nonetheless, there are bus stops which can take you very quickly to the Plaza Independencia and the Ciudadela. There are also buses to Pocitos. The staff was very helpful. My only advice is to go to Montevideo un the summer. During fall it is very windy and it rains a lot.

Check in was slow. It was late at night and we did not get offered a welcome drink. The rooms are standard Ibis but the air conditioning seemed to not respond to the thermostat. The staff tried to help me but the language barrier is pretty strong. The hotel is in a safe and quiet location with a grocery store a block west. They have a good breakfast - but not as many fresh fruit options as other Ibis hotels. The breakfast staff were very accommodating. There was something wrong with the computer and they couldn't bill us before breakfast so they let us have breakfast and brought the bill to the table. Checkout was smooth and the desk offered to call us a taxi.

Room comfortable and clean, good breakfast, beautiful sights to see near the hotel. It seems there is a building being constructed in front the hotel. There is some noise during the day but it was not a problem since we did not stay in the hotel during this period. At night, a very comfortable stay there.

« Good value, confusing information »

Staying at Ibis is a good value due to comfort, and cleanliness which is is accurate to what is promised. However, there was some confusing information regarding booking online and getting a free breakfast. I booked online because the propaganda at the hotel said some of the befits included free breakfast when booked online, however, it was not granted on our booking and, when I asked the front desk, they said it was granted, no problem. Nevertheless, when asked for the bill, the breakfast was being charged, which I refused to pay. I had to talk with the manager and argue for a while until he decided to grant us the free breakfast. I don't think is a problem of staff, but of the propaganda, which had to note that the free breakfast may be included, or not, pending on other factors other than just booking online.

Efficient and helpful staff and usual IBIS room and furnishings. Wifi in the room was reasonably fast and quite stable. Aircon was effective. Location is a major plus, being effectively on the Rambla and the sea, 10 minutes walk from Parque Rodo and the nearest beach, 30 minutes walk from Old Town, and 45 from Pocitos beach. There is a large supermarket and a number of bars/restaurants nearby. There would have been a sea view from my room, had it not been for the construction going on next-door. The work did NOT spoil my stay. Bike hire by the hour is available and available bikes are perfectly adequate for a ride along the Rambla, but if you want to do more than that (and particularly ride onroad) I'd suggest using a specialist supplier such as Orange. The breakfast here is fairly similar to the international Ibis offering with a few nods to local tastes and is reasonable value, particularly if you enjoy a hearty one. didn't eat here other than that. I would definitely stay here again.

It was like staying in a 2 star or less hotel. There was no hand towel, only one soap for both hands and shower, no hair conditioner and no minibar. The bed did not have the top sheet, only the blanket. I asked for a room with a bay view and got one with view to a construction and the view in the background

About his comments on the hand towel, Ibis does not have the same, for a question of environmental care and saving water and energy. Also, this does not mean that you can not ask for another bath towel to replace the hand towel. Regarding the conditioner, our shampoo is 2 in 1 and you can ask for as many as you want as well as soap, because we give it to you without any cost. Our bed service is of the Nordic style, and it is a fundon, which is changed whenever requested, and supplants the savannah above. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.
