« Nice enough once I got there »

The room was clean and comfortable, all you need for a quick stay over. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of choices. The shuttle bus from the airport was a bit difficult though - it took about 40 minutes to get one late at night. I was waiting with another customer who called the hotel to be told there was a bus there but we couldn't find it. It turns out that whilst all other hotel shuttles came regularly, were very well branded and parked on the near side of the pick up area, the Ibis bus parked on the far side where the car park shuttles parked, out of view, the driver didn't have a branded uniform and the only indication that it was the Ibis bus was a small magnetic sign high up on the bonnet - it just looked like a plain grey mini bus. It got to the point where I just started asking every driver where the Ibis bus was so we eventually found it. The driver wasn't apologetic but was initially rude, implying we were stupid and not paying attention. I suggested that the driver move the magnetic sign to they side as it would be easier to see in the dark, which he did then do when we got to the hotel. On arrival at reception the other customer brought up the issue at check in and rather than be greeted with an apology, the receptionist was very rude to the other customer who brought it up, calling on another member of staff to back him up that we were wrong about the bus being unbranded telling us Ibis was written in big letters all over it and not backing down. The driver had told us that he was using a replacement bus and that's why there was on,y the small magnetic sign on it, but the recptionists wouldn't believe us. The receptionist and the other customer argued about it for about five minutes with no concession by the hotel staff - I've never seen a scene like it in a hotel! I then checked in and said that the woman had been right, but it was late and we agreed to let it lie. So if you're trying to catch the shuttle bus and you think it isn't there, just ask every driver where they are going even if they don't look like a hotel shuttle!

Even though the free shuttle was not easy to find, the hotel iswell located in a quiet place next to a park. It's comfy, quiet and the personal was very nice and friendly.

« Very nice welcome by the attending receptionist. Very gracious, friendly and efficient. »

It was nice, easy and convenient being right next to the airport as I flew out quite early the next morning. The only thing that I may have to say is that I haven't been offered the free railway pass to go to Geneva Cornavin as it should have been. I learnt about this upon my arrival at the station. I had one evening to spend in Geneva and went to the city center on that night. Next to that, I enjoyed the room, it was very clean and well kept. Nice breakfast in a pleasant and quiet setting. Nice chocolate croissants!

« Good value and great location. Excellent breakfast »

Rooms clean and spacious. Check-in process was quick and staff all very pleasant. Breakfast is great value and nice to be able to sit outside in the sun. The only downside for me was that the hotel shuttle doesn’t run past 23:00 and you don’t find that out until you arrive - my flight was delayed and so had to take a taxi, adding CHF20 to the price of a night’s stay, which makes it less competitive than similar hotels in the area.

I liked the fact that rooms are renovated and have air conditioning as summer in Europe can be quite hot and uncomfortable. The team is nice and helpful. There was a weird smell at the reception lounge during my whole stay though.

« reasonable hotel, unacceptable service regarding WiFi »

The hotel itself was quite reasonable, albeit a bit smelly, but opening a window (which is only acceptable on the rooms pointing away from the highway - otherwise the noise was too loud) cleared the bad smells. Service was OK, until we got to the issue of WiFi service. The instructions said to register with a phone number, which will give us a code to connect. This simply didn't work, and gave us "connection error" messages (on all our devices). We went to reception, which promptly gave us printed codes to use instead. The codes didn't work either - again "connection error" messages. At this point, the receptionist said there is nothing he can do, and it is not his problem, and the service is by SwissCom, so we should complain to them, and he refused to escalate the issue to the manager by phone, saying that if we want internet access we can go down to reception where there are internet computers. No matter what I said, he wouldn't budge, and insisted he should do nothing to solve the issue (he did give us more printed codes, which didn't work either). Only after long arguments, the other receptionist suggested we try his (French) phone number to get the code by SMS, which surprisingly worked. At this point we guessed that the code-by-SMS only works with European phone numbers, and that the printed codes simply didn't work. Unfortunately he agreed to do this only to one of us (we were 4). Bottom line - The system of connecting to WiFi is unacceptable (why not give a single code to all guests? why use codes at all? this is 2018, isn't it?), The fact that it doesn't work with non-European phone numbers is beyond unacceptable, and the service we received regarding the issue is preposterous.

« SERVED THE PURPOSE »

Stayed for one night as had early morning flight. Standard Ibis hotel, clean room with modern decor, comfortable bed, functional bathroom and a view of aircraft comings and goings. For Switzerland, the room rate was acceptable value. The reception staff were welcoming and informative regarding local transport to / from Geneva centre and shuttle services to airport. . Check-out was straightforward. In what can only be described as non eventful , our only gripe was access to the hotel from Geneva airport / train station. Although the walking distance is only 10 minutes, a lack of visible signage combined with poor ibis signs actually on the hotel - make life difficult. It is noted that there is a free airport / hotel shuttle service - if one knew where to find it - when arriving . Enjoyed our stay and our brief visit to Geneva.

I needed a quiet and clean place, friendly staff, close to GVA with a reasonable price. This was my third stay in the airport IBIS (business or leisure) and I have given them always a "10." Will be there for a 4th time ....
