« Great Location »

The room was large but the bathroom very small other than that we found our stay here very good. The staff were very helpful and polite at all times. The location was very good and close to Naschmarkt with lots of cafe options for meals. The breakfast which was included in our booking was excellent.

« Great hotel, difficult reservations »

Hotel was really nice and in a great location near the Naschmarkt and not far from the u-bahn. Staff at the hotel were friendly and breakfast was nice, but there appeared to be no toaster. Confusion with extra person charges (2 people) but finally managed to get some assistance and hopefully the information on accorhotels.com has been updated. Wifi was not easy to access, had to keep logging in and disconnected everytime the phone was locked. Speed was also very slow for wifi but at least it was free. Beautiful old style classy room that was comfortable and quite. Would probably stay again.

« Ok room and Breakfast. »

We are very dissapointed about you Escape Road at your hotel!! We walked at the stairs to tjeck out this way but came to a closed door!!! With a very clear sign that this WAS the door. And it was locked! As this hotel is plased very close to other buildings we feld very unsafed here at the 3. Floor. The man in tur reception told us which way to go but that was not what the sign told us. But your hotel has a very central location and that was good for us.

« Very pleasant stay »

Good hotel in a great location. Good room, excellent breakfast with pleasant, helpful staff. The reception/bar staff were often not visible when we entered the foyer, but appeared when required and were helpful.

« Below average stay »

Our stay was for 4 days in total having booked some 8 months ago. On arrival our room was located looking onto the lift. As the curtains were broken one end we could not block out the light coming into the room from the lift. I had asked for another room for our stay but was told none was available, I emailed the manager direct but did not not receive a response. I feel the hotel is 3 star and not 4 as advertised. The positive from our stay was that the location was good.

« Disappointment »

Very disappointing stay. Starting with the arrival where no one from the reception even cared to help a family with 2 little kids with our heavy luggage. Secondly we had booked for 2 adults and 2 kids but only 2 single beds and one very uncomfortable and half sofa bed was provided. Further we had to ask to extend the full sofa for two times. On top of that all 4 drinking glasses in the room was full of fingerprints and fat stains. The windows had the same, full of stains. The carpet was dirty and below the sofa full of dust. The breakfast at the first day was good however the second day completely out of control. Even with many guests in the room the staff should attend to the basics. We sat 15min(!) at our table before even the table was clean, no knifes, plates or cups were available. At the time of departure we asked even offering a room fee to get access to a room for having the change of shower etc prior a long journey back home. This was refused. Sitting at the bar no one wants to take a order till the moment I returned to the reception to ask for the same. Later I would have ordered something more, but same no staff was interested even to show up. Summarising the above and in light of travelling in many countries staying with Accor hotel this hotel is my worst experience ever. I will highlight this to the right channel within the group. A very disappointed customer how want ever recommend or come back.

Great location, we hardly used the public transport as we could walk to everywhere. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

Very basic hotel, very small lobby with decor from the 70s, only got worse once we got to our room very ugly "family room' decor reminiscent of the Eastern Europe in the 70's. Little cockroach there to greet us in the bathroom. The AC was on but did not cool. It was more of a fan.

« Enjoyed my stay and would recommend your hotel. »

Very kind and helpful staff on reception and at breakfast. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. There did seem to be a small problem with the room cards not always working when in the lift. This was rectified quickly. The hotel was centrally situated so I could walk everywhere. It suited me very well.

I chose this hotel primarily because of its location, which is ideal whatever you are looking to do during your stay. Across the road is the magnificant Secession building and access to Karlsplatz undeground station. Keep walking beyond Karlsplatz and you soon arrive at the Opera, Karntner Strasse and the wonders of the Altstadt. Turn to the right as you leave the hotel and walk up the road towards the Museumsquartier and, turning left before you get that far, you come to Mariahilferstrasse - one of the main shopping streets. Oh, and there's a very handy Spar shop just across from the Kunsthistorischesmuseum which sells almost anything you might want, from food to washing up liquid! The hotel itself, is relatively small. Our standard room was adequately furnished, with a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, including a coffee machine (although bizarrely no instructions on how to use it!) We had a separate little room for our clothes and a small safe, plus a reasonably large bathroom. We had a bit of trouble getting replenishments for our tea and coffee and there was dust on the bedside tables and a large cobweb hanging from the ceiling over the bed! The breakfast buffet offered a comprehensive selection of goodies: breads, rolls, cereals, fruits, youguhrts, cold meats and cheese, plus some hot foods such as scrambled eggs, bacon etc. It could get quite busy at breakfast around 9:00 when the staff on duty (generally 2 of them) really struggled to clear tables, re-set them and maintain the buffet supplies. Go a bit earlier if you can! The mattress on our bed was really soft, but perhaps we were unlucky. That said, I would stay there again if visiting Vienna, because of its location.

Overall great stay. A few things I think could be improved upon: - Please replenish tea and coffee supplies! We stayed for nights and only on Day 5 did we get any more coffee - and that was because we were in the room when the lady arrived. We had used all the instant coffee sachets by Day 2. I had only expected a kettle, having contacted the hotel before I arrived, but had both a coffee machine AND a kettle. That said, I had no idea how to use the machine (no instructions provided) and I had no idea what the various coloued capsules contained and other than 'Martello', there was nothing else printed on them in any lanuguage. A little instruction card would be really useful (and prevent damage to mahines!) - On our first morning (15th June) we reported to reception that our loo in room 308 would not stop flushing and water kept running straight down the toilet. The lady made a note, but the problem remained when we left on 20th June. We turned the water off to stop wasting water! - The mattress in our room was REALLY soft and not comfortable. - Some mornings at breakfast it seemed that there were not enough staff to deal with setting and clearing tables and topping up the buffet and coffee machine. I only ever saw two ladies on duty and most of the time only one was in the breakfast room. - more attention to cleaning please! The tables beside our beds were dusty around the table lamps and telephone. There is a big spiders web hanging from the ceiling over the bed and we found bits of dirt in the bath. None of these are really big issues, but having stayed at the Mercure Dortmund City in April (classified by Mercure as 3 Star), it was hard to believe that we were staying in a 4 Star hotel belonging to the same hotel group.

« Excellent location in Vienna »

Our room was spacious, comfortable and had a nice view onto the Secession building! The hotel was within walking distance of the opera house which was useful as we went to a performance there.
