Hotel room was basic but clean and comfortable. Communal area was very good and useful to have access to a microwave. Appreciated complementary croissant in the morning. Staff very helpful. Free parking was a bonus especially as the hotel was so near to the city centre.

Nice until the fire alarm woke us up at 3am and stand outside for 45 minutes in shorts.

Dear Kira, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am really sorry to read that you have been woken up by the fire alarm. As someone was illegally smoking in the room the fire panel went off. Before we could go to the room the full fire evacuation alarm went off as well and it was because the room had to much smoke in it. As the safety of our guests is our number one priority we do need to do a full evacuation in these situations. While i understand this is not convenient we do not want to take any risk and I am glad to see that our team members as well as the fire brigade reacted with professionalism. Well on arrival the receptionists where very welcoming and very efficient. And that’s where the nice ends. On opening my door I noticed the floor was dirty with big smear marks all over it. My first night I woke up freezing and itchy as the windows where closed but when they where fitted weren’t sealed properly leaving the room cold and the noise of the traffic coming through I know this as I’m a joiner. Also there is a slow run from the toilet which after 30 mins gets very annoying. Day 2 I went to sleep woke up again scratching like mad went for a shower and went to work only to feel not well so phoned my docs and they had an appointment for that day. Went to my docs I thought I had chicken pox or measles as I felt I’ll and itchy only to be disgusted by telling me that my spots where actually mite bites. Absolute horrified I went back to hotel packed my bag and left never stayed the 3rd night. A company like ibis with the standard of a Blackpool bed and breakfast and £120 for the pleasure of it.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, 10 minutes walk from hydro, next to cinema and restaurants, the rooms are basic but you get what you pay for and breakfast is included which is a bonus, we didn't like the triple room as the double bed has a bunk bed above which feels quite clostraphobic, although we did book a double room but got a triple for some reason, no explanation as to why, toilet is tiny as well, but staff were friendly, so almost perfect apart from bunk bed and tiny toilet.

Staff good, room fine, but we experienced problems when my husband got stuck in the lift. 4 people in the lift which did not move but the doors would not open. Alarm button pressed eventually member of staff got door open.

Arrived only to find out my reservation was for another night. Unable to change booking even though it was £20 cheaper ! Passed from pillar to post by reception but still not sorted. I still have a booking for June which is not needed however I will be staying away before then and not sure I would consider Ibis in future.

The hotel is situated in a good location and easy to find with plenty of amenities close to hand (cinema, restaurants, casino, ect). The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the room was far too basic for our liking. One double bed one small chair and a small shelf and two electric sockets. I know this is a budget hotel but I think you could have provided some extra shelving space in the bedroom and bathroom.

Upon arrival there was only one person on check in to deal with customers and answer phone. It proved so slow that i had 3 people in front of me to wait for and several phone calls in-between . In total probably a 10 / 15 minute period before i had my room key. There should be more staff on duty to take care of customers as this was rather annoying .

I wish to make a complaint after the girl taking our money from us at arrival because we were unhappy with room rufeesed to give money back and put us in another room with was a disabled room stating this was an upgrade could not rest knowing it was a disabled room it didn't smell good and wish to get money back . Clean room only thing wrong was the lights on headboard not working however everything else was perfect. Staff here can’t do enough for the customer. Best nights sleep in a hotel blackout curtain, nice and warm, very comfortable bed and fresh linen for the price paid it was as good as any four star hotel.

The room had everything needed for a one night stay. We were slightly surprised that the bunk bed was not ready made up. Also the bathroom door made a very loud noise when you closed it which was a bit of a pain during the night if someone used the bathroom. There was some late night noise from other rooms, but you got what you expected from a budget hotel. The breakfast was good.

We are happy to read that the hotel included everything you needed for your stay. With regards to the top bunk not being made up, house-keeping staff do not make up the top bunks for hygiene reasons as they cannot stand on the double bed; however, they do put all of the linen in the bag and put them on the top bunk - they just have to be taken out and laid on the bed. We are sorry to read that the bathroom door made a noise and caused you a bit of disturbance. I have passed this to our maintenance team to have a look. We do apologize for the late noise you experienced during your stay with us. We have a zero-noise policy within the hotel and we monitor the noise of the guests and do regular floor patrols to ensure the disturbance to other guests is kept to a minimum.
