Really, where else would I find a clean comfortable room at that price? Incredible value. Room is basic, but has everything I need. Aircon, refrigerator, wifi, tea/coffee making, en-suite and a very comfortable bed. It was very cold in Newcastle so I very much appreciated the air conditioning.

The room was clean and check in staff friendly. The room was booked for a quick stop over and the breakfast included was helpful. The coffee however was not very pleasant.

As far as the accommodation is concerned, the room and facilities are fine, clean and comfortable. I have a disability which makes climbing stairs a very painful experience, I requested a ground floor room in the days prior to arriving and there were notes added to our booking about this, the rooms had not been allocated at this stage and I believed every effort would be made to accommodate this. On arrival I asked whether the room was on the ground floor and was told no. I explained the situation and was told it was not possible to give me one. I do appreciate that if it was a last minute request then I would have accepted that however with a few days notice I would have thought it would have been more achievable. What would the outcome have been had I of been in a wheelchair? This, I feel needs to be addressed.

Staff were friendly and engaging, beds were comfy, bathroom was a portaloo style room. I asked for a ground floor room due to medical issues and was given one but told there was a step to bathroom, it was a high step and quite slippery, nearly fell a couple of time. Was the smallest room I've ever stayed in through ibis/ibis budget. Good location though

For the affordable cost, the Ibis budget at Wallsend is great value. The staff, particularly Josh and Rachael with whom I mostly communicated with, were so extremely helpful and lovely. A big thank you to both of them for answering my many questions and communicating effectively with me! Just a bit of constructive feedback, we weren't asked for ID of any sort when we checked in which was just a bit odd I think. Also I would have appreciated being supplied with everyone's room numbers before we arrived. I sent a PDF of who would be rooming together about a week before arriving but it seems no one received that email. Furthermore, upon arrival when I wrote down what rooms everyone was in for reception (and kept my own record), when two people who were checking in the next day they were told the room (room 127) was not booked. To the receptionists' credit, this was resolved quickly, however I don't understand how this happened when it was the receptionist who told me in the first place what room they would be in! I think for big groups (ours was 23 people), being more organised and assigning rooms BEFORE arrival would be most efficient and wouldn't result in such confusion. To end on a positive note, the front desk was super helpful and accommodating to all of our members and the rooms were in great condition. Thank you for another great stay!

I understand that as a Accor plus member there are no benefits with the hotel. However, I would have thought some consideration is given when rooms are allocated. As a silver member I will never stay at this establishment again.

Everything was adequate for what we needed which was a bed and shower. The only problem I had was getting dressed sitting on the side of the bed......it kept sliding which almost put me on the floor when trying to pull on socks and boots. I found this a tad dangerous. Also the lip at the doorway into the room was tricky....if you didn't remember you would go for a stumble/ fall. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and everything was clean. Value for money.

It was great however a little disappointing to find no parking at midnight. ( being in hospital with sick relatives) A truck had taken 13 car spots. I understand the truck may have been a guest there however never been in the area before and trying to find parking in a unknown nearby street, then walking in the dark in a street was a little scarey. I choose the ibis Newcastle because there has a car park for safety reasons. I will be in Newcastle in the upcoming months to visit my sick relative in the hospital and would love to stay at the Ibis but may reconsider due to the parking situation.
