« Lovely hotel and great location »

Room and restaurant could not be better. Only comment would be that there did not seem to be quite enough staff on when we arrived, to manage the desk and the restaurant. The staff were working hard and doing their best, but one more person would have helped them.

Good Welcome and efficient information about bike parking. Easy access in the hotel. Nice room and view on the Pont de Loire. Good location of hotel. The dinenr was OK and the breakfast was outstanding.

Reliable Mercure brand hotel in excellent location between the Loire and old town, both within easy walking distance. Restaurant terrace ideal for dining outdoors in fine weather, we had both dinner and breakfast which were both very agreeable. Room was spacious and clean.

Pleasant stay at a centrally located, easy to find hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff. A couple of issues though.. The Privilege room advertised as having a view of the Loire actually overlooks the car park. The Loire can only be seen from the hallway or by craning one's neck. All rooms are meant to be non-smoking, but there was a faint aroma of tobacco and the number of butt ends on the ledge beneath the room would seem to indicate that people are disregarding the ban

Have had experience of this hotel way before it became "Mercure" which is why we came back instead of staying in Moulins. But I was disapointed with the room with NO air conditionning. So you have to keep the curtains open in order to open the window safely. Brrrr Found the breakfast buffet a bit bare for the price. As expensive as the other 3 Novotel we staued in during our trip, but not nearly as good.

This hotel is advertised as fully airconditioned but this only applies to the months from April to September which is very poor as it was 28C when we arrived. With opened windows we got the room cooled down during the night. Again paper cups and wooden sticks in this 4 star hotel. Mercure should be ashamed .We arrived on a Sunday night so the restaurant was not open which we did not know but we could have been told by the receptionist that there was a Macdonalds a short walk away. Poo r service. made worse by the fact that a group was being fed in the restaurant anyway...Room was very nice and clean but the outside of this hotel could do with some sprucing up. We did eat in the restaurant on the Monday night and both the food and service were fine. Breakfast was excellent.

Excellent location near Nevers city center with free parking space. Value for money. Clean and spacious room nicely facing la Loire (at a small extra but worthwhile paying for). Nice dinner served by friendly staff. WiFi did not work! I hate to log on to these external providers especially when it does not work. Staff could not help in getting my Macbook laptop to work. Unable to connect internet radio. Moreover I needed to book a 3 night stay at the Mercure Gobelins in Paris later that week but, unfortunately, the Mercure/Accor website was not reachable (or down). Therefor I had to book another hotel. On top of that the flatscreen TV did not allow to connect my iPhone to look at the pictures I had taken. Bye bye Mercure/Accor.

Staff were informative , helpful and pleasing. The restaurant was first class and we did enjoy the meal. We drive to Nimes four or five times each year and Nevers is an ideal overnight stopping point for us. We will without doubt use this hotel again and again. Many thanks for such a nice stay.

« Pleasant stay in typical Mercure hotel »

This is a typical Mercure hotel.The food was good for both breakfast and evening meal. The rooms were as expected but the air-conditioning was inadequate as I stayed during the really hot spell in June.I did manage to park the car at the front of the hotel each night but there are only a limited number of places and most people would have to use the car park.The town is only a short walk away.
