« A very satisfactory stay, convenient, comfortable, with friendly service »

The hotel is conveniently located with a useful map. The room was quiet and comfortable, good bathroom, clean - but with too few shelves and other flat surfaces to put things on. Good idea to have all family rooms on one floor. The bar/lobby area was good, with an esay atmosphere but armchairs to read, useful with a young child needing to have lights out early. Good colour map available. Good breakfast. Friendly, helpful, competent staff, especially a Spanish lady. A good idea not to have them behind a desk, and to multi-task. Competitive price, Ibis value for money probably has the edge on Premier Inn which we have used hitherto. By comparison Ibis fell down only on the lack of shelving/table in the room, and the website which was more complicated to use and cluttered with promotional material. Altogether we would definitely use Ibis again. Thjis was a business trip for me, leisure for my wife and child.

« Accor customer service abismal. Ibis Carlise C/S stellar. »

I accidentally booked the wrong month. When I realise within 30mins of booking I call Accor customer service to change the stay to the same date next month. They were rude and unyielding. Just made me feel stupid for not booking or paying the extra for flexible rate. However, I tried calling the hotel direct and the service manager there was absolutely magnificent a credit the company. She rearrange and was so helpful. Then the staff at the hotel were excellent. Two ladies helped me with parking for the day and late check out. The night porter had said you had to pay for parking from your check-out time. Thank you for the great service at the hotel. Shame Accor Customer Services are unrelenting ass*oles.

« Wonderful weekend break »

This was our first stay at the Ibis Carlisle and what a pleasant stay it was. Check in was nice and easy, the room was comfortable and the breakfast provided had everything you required to set you up for the day cereal, yogurt, toast, fruit juice and cooked breakfast. All the staff we came in contact were friendly and helpful. We visit Carlisle often and will certainly be back to the Ibis Carlisle.

« overnight stay »

just ok breakfast was good I got a email on the sunday to say I could check in on line .it would make the checking in process easier and quicker. that was a joke still took at least 10 mins to check in even though I had done it on line day before. email asked for bank details so I thought that meant I had paid for the stay NO I had to do it again using the card machine . I was not happy what was the point of the email. also when we went to get lift felt as if the staff/ lady who checked us in was talking about me.

« Relaxing stay at modern hotel well located for both railway station and city centre »

Room was cleaned and serviced every day. Comfortable king size bed. TV set is out of date regarding freeview (no ITV3, Drama, ITV4 or Talking Pictures channels available), though a selection of german state TV channels available (ZDF, 3Sat for example), french news (including english option) and other european TV options. Excellent buffet breakfast, including cooked british option. Hotel staff helpful. Desktop PC in the hotel foyer very useful for a daily 15 minutes browse of the internet. I was alarmed that the bench between the bed and the window table collapsed on the last night of my stay - unexpected for an ibis hotel. Noise from other rooms and corridors during my first night of my stay, which carried on into the early hours of Sunday.

« This was our second visit, and a longer one, 3 nights. it did not disappoint! »

What strikes you first is the friendliness of the staff and their efforts to treat you as an individual; i have certain dietry requirements and the staff particularly kitchen staff cooperatated fully and made me feel I was not inconveniencing too much. Thankyou. this cooperation extended to the housekeepers as well. the room was very clean. We appreciated the fact that we were allocated a room in a quieter part of the hotel.

It activates either warm when the temperature drops below 13 degrees and cools the room when above 16 degrees, the in between is neutral and will not activate.
