We found the central location of the Carlisle Ibis to be most satisfactory for meeting our needs in exploring the Lakes district, to then travel on to the Scottish town of Girvan. The staff were most helpful for answering any questions we had.

Awful. Room was adjacent or overlooked a nightclub and loud music was played until 3 am. No sleep possible and important meeting next day

For what I can see you checked in around 13 h which is earlier than standard check-in at 2 pm, this must have been one of the rooms available at the time. For future bookings please leave a request for a quiet room and we will do our best to grant this request by pre-allocating a room facing the back of the hotel. The greeting is always very friendly. By checking in on-line the room key is ready and waiting on arrival. We enjoy the familiar layout. The lighting is good. The bathroom is always immaculate. The food is good but when I just asked for toast, on arrival, that was made immediately. The service is always very friendly and courteous.

Hotel was fine, plenty of parking, welcoming staff, clean room, good breakfast but as a business traveler I am relying on wi-fi to undertake my work. Although the connection was strong in the room it was barely adequate for web browsing and certainly not fast enough for me to download reports or any streaming. I got 0.20 down and 1.07 up, it is obviously throttled as when you run a check it goes to the max and then drops down to the terrible speed. I did ask the team if there was an option to pay for a faster speed but no.

Good parking and handy luggage trolleys. Rooms very clean and tidy. Good breakfast. Shame about the woman shouting outside from 2- 3.30 am! Couldn't fault the hotel.

Sub-standard reception facilities and unprofessional staff dress

Signing in on a mobile phone with a cracked screen was just the beginning. It was hard to contemplate that the staff were dressed in saggy oversized red T shirts and joggers. I have certainly never been in a supposedly higher end hotel where there is no reception desk and such poorly presented staff. The room was adequate, but once again I have never been in even a lower end hotel where there isn’t even a handtowel. When I asked the duty manager, her response was, “we don’t have any”. We were not given any information about breakfast on check in and there was no information in the room, nor any phone to contact “reception”, only a notice that said to use WHATSAPP. No consideration has been given to those of us who do not use WHATSAPP and have no desire to download it, or, know how to use it. Overall a very disappointing experience and I will alerting leClub Accor of this sub-standard hotel.

This is the case in all Ibis hotels in the country and had a very good welcome with our guests. Please accept our apologies for your arrival experience. Please rest assure that telephone in question fell that day and has been sent for repair; also more towels are available from reception if needed, all our towel sizes are the same, we do not have hand towels but certainly can provide extra sheet towels if needed. I have stayed in the Ibis a few times now and never had any issues, it's centrally located and overall it's a good value for money. The reason for the low score was I didn't get any sleep at all as the guests in the adjacent room were extremely noisy, and periodically were shouted and laughing loudly and banging on the walls and the door. I appreciate it was UCL final night and A tiny Joshua was also fighting in the boxing at 4am so big sporting night that meant many had late night. I appreciate its not easy to monitor guests all the time but I'm sure other people would have also complained of the noise too. There was two French gentleman who I seen at breakfast asked me if I had heard the noise which I confined I did so no doubt you will get other guests providing similar feedback. I did pop down to reception to politely ask if anything could be done but didn't see anyone around so I returned to my room. I will be honest that it has put me off staying at your hotel again, at the end of the day you go to a hotel to sleep, if you are not able too then obviously no matter how good the hotel is, it has failed in its number one objective. On a positive note, I did enjoy the breakfast that was excellent. Kind regards Gary

Functional room; very clean, excellent sheets and very comfortable bed. Spartan decor - no pictures on walls but perfectly good for a one night stop. Small TV on side cupboard. Parking on hand and easy to access. Would recommend and visit again.
