« Great stay, great staff and great breakfast »

It was excellent! You have some wonderful reception staff especially the two lovely girls who checked me and colleagues in on the evening of Thursday September 6. I was visiting Lamsdorf Stalag VIIIb (Lambinovice) where my father had been a prisoner of war 1940-45. Your reception staff were so kind. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast served in my room was like a banquet. Thank you. (On Tues night I had stayed at Birmingham airport UK Ibis Budget, also part of the Accor group, which was not at all good)

« Disappointing »

The hollow in the mattress was so deep that there was no risk of falling out of bed I book onto hotels expecting a good nights sleep. Not possible in the Mercure Opole!

It was the 2nd time I stayed there and will stay there again in the future. The hotel service and location are great, so were breakfast and the room but there is a safety issue with the striped carpet on the stairs as you cannot see individual steps!

« Hot and noisy room »

When we checked in, we found our room on the second floor to be really hot. I informed the reception who said that they would send a technician to look into the problem. The technician came and went but the room remained hot as could be. I could only open the two windows part way but this did not help. At night we could not sleep because a group sat outside and talked until 3:15 a.m. Due to the heat, I had to keep the windows open part way. I had a sleepless night and not worth the 500 Zloty charge for the room.

« Comfortable but can’t get the little things right. »

No decaf coffee option at breakfast. Staff at breakfast on first day seemed grumpy. Tissues and toilet paper were not replenished when they serviced the room, even though we placed the empty box next to the rubbish bin, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper left. Other staff were helpful and friendly, including Aniska (?) who worked in the bar on the Saturday night, who remembered our drink order the next night, which is the sign of good hospitality.

« Nice hotel - terrible customer service »

Arriving at 2150 h due to a late running train I was informed the restaurant would close in ten minutes - DESPITE my printed booking confirmation from the Accor website saying it was open until 2300h. I needed to take my bag to my room and deal with an injury to my leg before I could eat dinner. I told the receptionist [an lady a similar age to myself I guess - 40s/50s] all of this and asked she request the restaurant remain open. As an Accor Gold Card holder who has used this hotel before I expected her to do this but she did not Arriving in the restaurant about 2200h the waiter informed me it was shut - despite the fact around 25 people were still in it! I had a long discussion and pointed out firstly the booking confirmation said it was open until 2300h, secondly I have an Accor Gold card and expect some service, thirdly I had asked the receptionist to contact the restaurant [she clearly had not bothered]. When all this did not change his mind I insisted on speaking by phone to the manager - making it clear they would have to ring him/her at home there and then. Something in this conversation worked as after a phone call it was decided by the waiter that the restaurant was now still open! This experience was exceedingly poor and frankly totally unacceptable and not what I expect from Accor or Mercure. I do expect a reply to this review from the hotel manager and ALSO I want one from Accor Headquarters as they need to be aware this hotel is advertising services - a restaurant open until 2300h on the website and on the booking confirmations but not then providing the service. In some countries this would be illegal. The rest of my stay was fine and without problems. the receptionist the next morning [a younger lady] was freindly and helpful. I suggest the hotel no longer employs the older receptionist in a role that deals with customers as she is clearly not interested in doing her job.

(+) location, early booking price, cosy room with a huge TV and air conditioning, silence. (-) unpleasant staff in the restaurant, exceptional at reception, ongoing refurbishment making it almost impossible to reach the lift, all the noises from other room(s) (?) heard in the vent.

The staff is friendly, proffessionel and cooperatively. The situation of the hotel is also very good. The equipment could be of course more modern ones, however, is absolute in order. The hotel is pleasantly clean and the breakfast has a good choice.

I dont understand why the hotels dont care about their air condition?It was not working and the rooms like an ice hotel.. The rooms looks like very old design ..I dont like it ..It was look like from the year 1970's... I WILL NEVER EVER CHOOSE THIS HOTEL TO STAY IN.

Used this hotel while passing through to Germany, nice and clean room. The restaurant offers very good food, even when it was very busy. I received a very nice upgrade to the suite with a separate living room which was nice for some relaxing after a long ride.
