Great Location

The hotel location was ideal. Unfortunately civil works caused a lot of noise from 6am all round the hotel. One thing that did strike my wife and I was total lack of interaction by staff. No smile or acknowledgment, by what would seem to be senior members of staff when passing by or in the restaurant. It seemed as if they ignored our presence, even though we’re paying guests. There were however two members of the staff in the restaurant who interacted and were genuinely interested in our stay and how we found Krakow. (Kasper & Orlina), very polite and 100% first class service. Issues around our last day. We eventually got a late check out, which we were grateful for. However room service was a different matter. Our room was only cleaned once during our stay. I asked the room service staff on the morning of our last day for a couple of extra towels but was denied, being told we were checking out so couldn’t get any. ( I presume they thought we were going to steal them, I’m 65 and my wife is 60!!) The room service lady who spoke English had a stand up argument with my wife outside the room. Never in all our travels worldwide have ever encountered outright refusal to any requests. We have always classed Novotel as first class hotel group but based on our stay in krakow this has reduced our likelihood of choosing Novotel again. I will also be writing to your head office with regards this review.

Rooms didn’t get cleaned

Your hotel is normally wonderful - this was our third hotel staying with you. This time though the room cleaning was really poor. The cleaner didn’t turn up for three days - we were out first thing each day and had the door sign on asking for our room to be cleaned. One day they came at 6:30pm after our day out which was inconvenient. Another day the cleaner asked us if we really needed our room cleaned. We’ve never had such an experience.

This hotel has an ideal riverside location which is 15 mins walk from the centre of Krakow. The service is excellent and my family and I were very well looked after by Maciej, Dominika, Roman and Gabriella of the reception team in particular. I travelled with my bicycle and was allowed to store my bike in our room at my request. The gym is good and the swimming pool is great. We stayed for two weeks and this was marred by very noisy roadworks directly outside the hotel, but hopefully this will be completed soon. All in all a very good stay and we really appreciated the hotel’s hospitality.
