The staff was very friendly. The elevatator had an fantastic view over the city, as it had a glass panel. The room was tidy and well equipped, there was a minibar, water, toiletries. It's quiet as well and the bed comfortable. The breakfast selection is good, you even get to try the portuguse custard tarts. In terms of transport, it's well located, near the metro/underground, buses and taxis can find it very easily. Overall you cannot go wrong staying at this hotel if you are visiting Lisbon.

It was far from extraordinary. I was happy when I received privileged room, but the excitement was gone after seeing it. The room has not been renovated since many years. The dark wood floor was rugged to white and possibly flooded before, wall around AC cracked with missing pieces of last layer of paint and apparently walls were somehow dirty as you could see smudges after attempt of cleaning it. Also, it was not perfectly clean.

Staff was always welcoming and suggestions helpful. Room was comfortable with great bedding and fully stocked. Location excellent for museum,zoo,metro and lots of excellent,reasonable restaurants for breakfast,dinner and snacks.

There was no plug point to charge phone, no proper ironing board, no kettle in room. What kind of hotel are you running. So disgraceful.

Hotel is of usual high standard with comfortable well appointed rooms. Staff were welcoming and friendly especially the staff at breakfast. Hotel is away from centre of Lisbon and is about 7 min walk to the nearest metro station and only 5 stops on the metro to the centre.

Unbelievable single use plastic! Cups in rooms - small ‘paper’ ones with plastic lids, plastic stirrers which melt with hot water, cups do not last more than one drink. Bathroom ‘glass’ plastic, wrapped in plastic. This is 2019, please use china mugs, metal spoons and glass/reusable plastic glasses in bathroom. We obtained china mugs/spoon from reception and then hid them from the maids! Location better for business rather than tourist destinations.... metro ten mins walk - not particularly pleasant. Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Bar staff unable to successfully make a margarita.... no lime used, ?toquilla very rough/off - completely undrinkable. Breakfast was OK, usual continental fare, with a good selection of bread and pastries. The room - beds OK, bathroom a little tired. Would recommend tourists to stay more centrally.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, well presented and maintained. We enjoyed having access to the rooftop pool which, although unheated, was well maintained and we enjoyed swimming in it. The S. at reception were always courteous and helpful.

The hotel was as we expected from a mercure. The room was good and well cleaned, air conditioning was excellent, it was hot when we were there, the air con made the room a haven of coolness. However the WiFi in the room was patchy, only reliable near the door, in the public rooms it was very good however. The main issue we had was that the restaurant service wasn’t available. The snack menu was available and the items were quite good, but the choice was understandably limited, we would have appreciated a wider dining experience. Access to central Lisbon was quick using the nearby metro. We had a very enjoyable day at the Gulbenkian museum, which also had very restful gardens and cafe.

I've stayed in several Mercures this year. One was as good as it gets and this one in Lisbon was a total contrast and as poor as they get. It should probably be a bottom end Ibis. Check in was slow, mostly because the two staff covering the desk were having a conversation and I was not acknowledged once during the six minutes I stood there waiting. Eventually one of them walked away and the other one turned to attend to me without a word of an apology. The person did the basics and no more and I was sent on my way to a room which was run down and tired. There was not for instance a socket at the bedside. It's more than twenty years since people wanted to charge a mobile phone at bedtime but it's not possible at this run down establishment. There were two power sockets in the room. One half way up a wall so totally useless and one by the desk so of limited use but not at night. The room was run down and tired. The room was cleaned each day but rather strangely the housekeeper kept removing partially used shampoo and shower gel and replacing it with new ones, there was plenty in the old ones but they were taken away and new ones left on each of four days. It didn't go well with the notice about environmental protection as it was just a waste of resources and single use plastics. I'm more than happy to use yesterday's shower gel until the container is empty. Breakfast was staffed in the main by disinterested people who clearly didn't like customers getting in their way and interrupting their day. At one point I asked for a spoon which was missing from my place setting. The waiter I asked was setting the next table with a tray full of cutlery. He set that table and two more before bringing me a spoon from the tray he was holding and then it was with bad grace. It's a hotel to avoid and I certainly wouldn't return.

Mercure hotels are a very variable experience. Earlier this year I stayed in one which was excellent in all regards, the stay at this hotel in Lisbon was obviously pay back time because it couldn't have been more different. It started at reception. Two staff were at the desk and they were talking to each other. I don't understand Portuguese so I have no idea what it was about. I do know I was kept standing for six minutes while they spoke, ignoring me and one other person waiting there and that set the tone for the stay.

Food in restaurant and bar well done. Coffee machine broken 4 out of 7 days there... Heard numerous associates having AC problems in their rooms. -- Mercure moved them to other rooms when they could; sometimes that was to another room w/no AC working again. The conference room we used was very hot. Get AC renovated &/or working better!

Very helpful staff, always smiling and knowledgeable with transport information. Breakfast staff also very pleasant and welcoming. Choice and quality of breakfast was excellent - a good start to the day. Bedroom was well equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Good, quiet air-conditioning and comfortable bed. Pool was refreshing, very clean and we liked that cool water with fresh fruit was provided. Not too far from train/metro station which made it easy to get to the city/airport etc. Restaurants and bars not far away too. Everything good.
