« Good service, professional people at the reception but noisy room »

I was impressed by the professional and gentle approach by the team at the reception. Same for the service at the bar, even if they made a mistake with my order, they apologized offering free of charge my dish. Unfortunately my room was just in front of the elevator and quite noisy.

« Always very good »

We stay at the Mercure every year. The most important aspect is Castro and the incredible staff, professional, efficient and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully run and the food is always excellent and well presented. We have tried other hotels even larger but the didn't compare.

« Very good except the breakfast »

We have been staying in this hotel many times. Everything was always very good but last time on September 5th we were going to the airport very early and asked whether the brakfast was available at 6:30. The reception said: "YES". It was not. At 6:30 they were preparing the brakfast. It means - the brakfast was not ready. WE COULD NOT HAVA THE BRAKFAST WE HAD PAID FOR.

« Excelent breakfast, but they don’t upgrade room for Gold members »

I’ve got a Gold status at LeClub Accorhotels, but nobody offered or provided me a room upgrade. Although there were better rooms available at website at that time... :/ Breakfast is perfect. You must think about frequent guests. We stay with you all the year, pay more to maintain loyalty and sometimes “hotel is full”, although it’s not real.

« They don’t upgrade LeClub Gold members »

Breakfast is fantastic, hotel is very nice. But if you expect upgrade for staying all year at Accorhotels, forget it. They swear hotel is full, although website shows availability. It makes you think twice, before staying at Accor 30 nights a year.

« Very enjoyable 6-night stay »

Our room was comfortable, clean, and contained everything we needed. We were very pleased that the double-glazing provided top-class sound insulation, meaning that we slept very well indeed. We were thankful that the hotel is within 5-10 minutes walk to Sete Rios train/metro station; our trips downtown everyday were very easy to make, and catching the overground to Oriente Station for our overnight journey to Madrid for the remainder of our holiday was very convenient. We will certainly consider Mercure Lisboa again if we decide to re-visit Lisboa ( and I think we will).

« Unexpected Great Stay at Mercure »

Excellent. I ignored the less positive reviews because of the location. Walking distance from train/bus stop Sete Rios. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Lovely room and the chance to cool off at the pool after sightseeing.

« Really great,usual Mecure delivery »

Warm welcome by experienced staff. Breakfast is nice, try to give changes in menu. Helps if more fruits are available. Hospitality team very nice, always smilling. However, they forgot to put etra toiletries in our rooms the whole time. An oversight I will aasume. My kids enjoyed the pool. We find it convenient to go to the city etc . I loVe the decor, space and the long reading table. I think the whole concept here is successfully delivered. Thanks to the front desk team, they are amazing.

« Breakfast great, pillows too hard »

The breakfast was excellent. However, the pillows were too hard, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

« Pleasant and comfortable stay »

Easy to find. Comfortable and clean room. Near by the transportation service in 5 minutes with Metro you reach the old town. Rich breakfast with fresh bread, fruits, omelette, ham, bacon and everything you need for a good start. Nice swimming pool. Staff very polite.

« Professionally led City-Hotel in Lisbon with pool on the roof terrace. »

I got a whole menu meal at 10.15 pm. The double bed was just fine in size and hardness of the mattress. Private bathroom with plenty of light at the mirror. The elevators were working fine. The pool ist quite spacy for a hotel pool. I could make 7 strokes from one end to the other. The breakfast time is spread widely from 6.30 until 11.30 and the bufett is really plentiful and ranges from scramled eggs, fried eggs, bread in many sorts, unpacked, natural yoghurt without scents or sugar added, corn flakes of many kinds and sorts, various fresh fruit from melon, papaya, ananas and aso dried fruit like figues, dates, prunes, ... Coffe, tea and chocolate on self service. No complaints.

« Potential to be a great hotel with some changes »

Arrival: Room not available until 4.15pm despite check-in being advertised as 2pm. We appreciated the complimentary welcome drink but would have preferred an honest indication of the delay so we could make a different decision and get to our destination on time. An offer of a temporary place to freshen up and leave bags would have been better than a long and undefined wait. Evening meal: We had booked the 2 course menu online. One member of our party ordered a starter/main course and the others a main course/desert. When the starter arrived, we indicated that the main meal could be brought early (in our opinion, a starter of salad could be eaten with a lasagne and we were keen to not delay the meal and get to bed because of our 10 year old son). The waiter did not approve and clearly had an issue with our suggestion. He shortly returned with all food including deserts and piled them on the table - clearly to make a point. It was like an episode of Fawlty Towers. One of your team members in Lisbon has a serious attitude problem and sizeable ego, its more important that he is right rather than give way to the customer that's paying for the service. Breakfast: Amazing. Pool: Lovely pool facility that was advertised to be open from 09.00. After a wait and 2 trips to reception we entered at 09.20. Reception desk: Helpful team with good knowledge of local transport links. Clearly trying to do a good job but the young girl could of been trained/advised to handle our situation differently and offer us an option of waiting or something else e.g. use of pool to freshen up/get changed and then bag storage facility. Bar: Friendly and smiley young man. Room: Clean and quiet. All that I would expect. Conclusion: No major problems encountered. More a case that some basics, mostly to do with advertised timescales, were not met. Also, one rogue member of staff that seemed to take issue with our party and from observation was also argumentative with others.

« OK »

The experience was quite good, although >100€/night seems excessive compared to similar quality hotels. The room was very nice, the staff was always outstanding (being both very kind and extremely helpful) and the swimming pool, although simple, provided comfort in the hottest hours of the day. However, the temperature in the rooms was too high, making it difficult for us to sleep (we are Spaniards, so I can imagine Nordic tourists had a worse time than us). According to your staff, this was caused by the mixture of 15ºC air with "respiration" air, which understandably was higher than average due to the heat wave. Nevertheless, in my opinion the hotel should have had lowered the air conditioning temperature in order to provide a more comfortable experience at night (or maybe think about resizing their HVAC system if it was already working at full power). Furthermore, the quality/price ratio of the breakfast was low if you compare it with equivalent 4 star hotels in Spain. The variety of products could be improved, as well as its quality, but also more local products would be appreciated (e.g. pastéis de nata). Additionally, if you receive a good amount of Spanish tourists, providing tomatoes, good quality olive oil and salt near the toasted bread (so people can have "pa amb tomaquet", a very common breakfast in Spain) could be a nice addition, although I understand that's too specific for a broad audience. All in all, a good experience in a hotel with potential to provide a better one.

« Pleasant hotel a little removed. »

The Mercure Lisbon was a comfortable hotel with clean fairly business-like rooms. It is located a little away from the action and has some views of the aqueduct, but little else. Service and reception were ok and variable. Sometimes helpful and sometimes very curt. As very experienced travellers we rate it as a reasonable stay that rates about 7 out of 10.

Serafin Couples - 06/08/2018 AccorHotels certified review

We stayed there for only 2 nights. The location was very good, near the airport and good restaurants. The breakfast was very good and also the staff.

« Clean and modern hotel located away from action. »

Mecure is very clean modern and well appointed hotel located near the aqueduct area away from the tourist spots. A little sterile but ok. Taxi fare about 7 euro to main area. Front office staff curt but helpful. Be careful of taxi from airport that should be around 10 euro. Some drivers have a purple app that doubles and triples the fare at end.
