Before our trip (severeal weeks before) I tried to email the hotel several times, with no reply, and I was therefore completely dissatisfied when I arrived. This did not improve when we entered the room, which was filty, with filty bedsheets and cobwebs on the lamp. When I went to the front deks to inform them though, the situation was handled completely professional. We received a huge apology, and a new upgraded room with no questions asked. The service level at the hotel was very positive, and ususally I am very critical as I myself work at a hotel, however my request to do something special for my husbands 40th birthday was never replied to.

Average Stay - Nothing impressive for a Gold Member with Accor Hotel.

1) First Night - Hotel room provided was unsatisfactory. Had to request for my room upgrade instead of being automatically provided & the room given had issues. Bathroom door couldn't close properly, TV cannot turn-on, Coffee Maker not functioning. Had to change rooms the next day. 2) Buffet Breakfast - Woke up late on 7th Aug (11am) due to my late flight to Lisbon. Explained to the staff of my situation and requested if it's possible to get some breakfast since I missed the morning timing. Was informed I can order, but at extra costs. Very disappointing considering the bad room experience during the night and not considering my Gold member status. Further annoyed by the fact after a few days, breakfast timing extended till 12pm for the entire hotel guests. 3) Coffee Maker / Water in Room 501 - The water never gets refilled by the housekeeping staff. When I take 1 bottle from the breakfast table, the waiters stop me. Does the hotel need to be so stingy considering how regularly I'm staying at Accor Hotels? IHG service levels are way better than this. 4) Late Check-Out on 13th August - Had to request for 4pm twice. The first was the night before, and was told only 2pm. The next day, was granted 4pm after insisting on my Gold member privilages.

I was pretty satisfied; the room was the Accore / Mercure Standard, the breakfast was pretty good compared to other mercure hotels, maybe better than the standard. would directly book that hotel again.

This was the third time we've stayed here, the first being for the convenience of being near the airport for an early morning flight and the following two because we really like the hotel. It is well appointed, welcoming and well situated near a Metro station and on the tour bus route, but the reason we keep staying here is because of the staff. I feel it is unfair to select individual members of staff for praise as you don't see the ones behind the scenes but the reception staff on arrival were excellent. The two young girls were bright, smiling and very helpful not to mention amusing. Whoever interviews, employs and trains the staff deserves a medal as without fail every single one has a personality. The bar and dining room staff are also in the same category demonstrating and attentiveness that is not intrusive and attention to detail that also demonstrates a love of the job. We had an early morning departure so breakfast was a bit of a downer as we were sorry to leave Portugal, but the member of staff dealing with us was amusing and lightened the mood even saying he would lock us in so we could stay. Thanks for that. We will be back and thanks to the hotel manager for yet another memorable stay. .

The only (and very negative impacting in review score) issue was the lack of cleanliness. The bide was showing human dirt residue (not simple hair!!).

Nice experience but I found just a small piece of soap for two persons and a single tube with shampoo. I demanded another and I received another small soap and a small tube of shampoo. I traveled for a city break, without luggage and I expected to have at hotel 4 stars, the soap, and shampoo. Finally to avoid to ask all the time the soap I bought myself. But, this is minor. Experience in the hotel was great. the receptionists speak English, French and they are happy to advise where you may go and visit in Lisbon. The room was large and clean. The fridge was full also. With a pool in the hotel but without slippers, I think that is good that the hotel provides you disposable slippers.

The location of the hotel is not close to historical center, however the metro station which is 5 minutes away from the hotel makes it comfortable to reach the center within 15-20 minutes. The facility is good and personnel is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a swimming pool on the top floor with the soft drinks. The room is clean and comfortable.

We can’t fault the staff. They did all they could with the resources they had, and were friendly, thoughtful and responsive. We had problems with soundproofing in our first room, were switched to another, but it had no air conditioning, and were moved again, on our request, to a third - which was spacious and comfortable, but the wifi didn’t work.

Arrived at Mercure by noon time. Ms. Carolina at the front desk were very attentive towards reservation and all paperwork was ready, as platinum received a Privilege room and check-in by noon. During afternoon felt staff very stressed both at the reception and restaurant. Left for late lunch and returned by 10pm. Finally ordered from a light bite from room service menu, meal was ok. Woke up early and found breakfast not really inviting. Check out was efficiently performed by mr. Joao. All in all, Mercure is a clean hotel, certainly agged, location is a very residential one, close to an 'ok' Mall. Good pick for long stays and overnight stopovers (fairly close to the crazy airport). My experience using Le Club was good.
